♠︎ YOU
The party was a roaring success. Of course it was.
As soon as you woke up on your birthday you were treated to a mountain of your favourite food, all cooked by Jin, with Jungkook's help. According to Jin, who tugged you aside after breakfast to wish you happy birthday, Jungkook had wanted to help Jin more with the cooking, but had become distracted and woken up late.
You had blushed red, realising that the distraction in question was waking you up with his head between your legs. Jin had shot you a knowing look, and your cheeks felt like cherry tomatoes.
After breakfast, you'd stepped onto the sunny terrace, spending the morning by the pool, enjoying the company of Jungkook and your friends. At one stage, you had glanced around the island that had been your home for the last six weeks or so, and felt a little emotional. You were going back to Daegu tomorrow, and you were going to miss the heat, the easy pace of life, and - of course - the boys you'd grown to see as a second family.
For now, though, you just tried to enjoy your birthday. It was a gorgeous day and you spent most of it sunbathing with the boys. Nia was back in full force, and seemed to be making fast friends with Yoora; the pair of them were nattering by the pool all morning about sculpting, something Nia did as a pastime and Yoora wanted to get into.
Namjoon looked disgruntled, clearly having hoped to be the centre of Nia's attention today. You got the strong feeling that he'd wanted an opportunity alone with your best friend, to ask her what the future held for them.
Nia, however, simply told him to stop being an overgrown baby and grow a pair of balls - and you would sincerely have liked to listen to the rest of their conversation as Namjoon's eyes darkened, but it was now that Taehyung chose to come and find you.
As he approached where you and Jungkook were laying beside the pool, you felt a stab of anxiousness settle in your stomach. Not at the prospect of talking to him, but at the idea that he and Jungkook were still not on speaking terms.
But Jungkook had reached over and squeezed your hand. "We already talked it out," he said, seeing Taehyung approach across the poolside. "You should work it out too, baby."
Though this made your stomach flip, part of you sagged in relief at hearing this. You had never wanted to be the person who came between two frineds.
And so, in the end, it was easy to forgive him. When he sat down to speak to you, he apologised profusely. He knew what he'd done wrong. He understood if you didn't want to be friends any more. He would totally get it.
But you'd already made up your mind to move on. Already told yourself that Taehyung was a good person, who had begun redeeming himself when he and Yoora helped you to bed the other night.
Maybe it would take time to become friends, you told him, but all was forgiven.
Taehyung had been so happy to hear this, and Jungkook so supportive from the seat beside you, that you thought for a moment you must be dreaming. Life did not, in your experience, work itself out this easily.
But it was real. All real. You had to pinch yourself at one point to be able to believe it.
Taehyung had, he revealed, also purchased you a birthday present, which would be waiting for you when you got home to Daegu. You had eyed him warily, wondering what it was, but he'd glanced at Jungkook who had winked at Taehyung knowingly, and you knew that it would be a great gift if Jungkook had coordinated it.
You thanked him, and pulled him in for a hug. When you drew back, Taehyung seemed lighter, less pain in his eyes than before. And when he walked away, Jungkook squeezed your hand once more, telling you he was proud of you.
Your heart ached with satisfaction. When Jungkook was proud of you, you felt proud of yourself too.
When evening finally fell, it turned out there was going to be more food, and copious drinks, around the firepit. You dithered for ages over what to wear, until Nia finally grew impatient with you and picked you a simple black dress with slim heeled boots. You'd descended the stairs, afraid perhaps you had gone too casual for your own birthday party-
Until you'd seen Jungkook.
"Um, yeah," he said, a sheepish look on his blushing face as he met you at the bottom of the stairs. "I saw this online and, uh-"
He held up his hands, which were entirely drowned out by the oversized sleeves of the onesie he was wearing.
A bright green, luminescent frog onesie.
Jungkook shrugged, clearly feeling awkward, and your heart unfurled for him. "I thought it was cool," he trailed off in a mumble.
"Jesus, the boy is more whipped than whipped cream," Nia remarked from behind you, but you weren't listening to her.
You were beaming at him.
"You look so cute," you giggled, wrapping your arms around his neck, loving the two tiny eyes that sat on top of the onesie's hood as you ran your fingers over them.
Jungkook flashed you his bunny smile. "You like it?" he asked, tugging the lip ring between his teeth, the telltale sign of his nervousness.
"Mm. You're adorable," you told him, kissing him gently as the rest of the room whooped and cheered, and all the while you were thinking, I love you, I love you, I love you.
And as extravagant and beautiful and carefully planned as this evening was, that was the best part. Loving him openly, freely, and knowing that he loved you back.
It made you the luckiest woman alive.
The rest of the night was magical. There weren't many of you - just the boys, their few guests, and you and Nia - but it felt like the island was full, alive with everyone enjoying themselves before they packed up and went home tomorrow. Jungkook had ordered in a load of frog headbands that everyone was wearing, until they got too drunk and lost or discarded them. Hobi got so drunk that he started wearing his over his eyes, and proceeded to trip and fall over a chair, which nearly had you wetting yourselves.
There were games and music and drinks and more games, and you laughed until your stomach hurt, let people mix you fruity drinks with sweet-sounding names, until you were lightly buzzed and feeling emotional at the sight of your friends gathered around you in the kitchen for what may be the last time in a little while.
Nia had obviously made up with Namjoon since this morning, as the pair of them were being sickeningly cute, Nia locked in Namjoon's lap at the kitchen table as they spoke lovingly to one another. Yoongi was talking seriously to the other members at the counter, but he stroked his hand idly up and down Jimin's back, Jimin beaming at him adoringly as he did, and your heart felt so full at seeing your two best friends so happy that you thought you might cry.
But you didn't.
You saved it for later that night. When everyone was still gathered in the kitchen laughing and drinking, intoxication beginning to sink in, and you snuck out onto the terrace with just Jungkook.
"So," he said to you, sitting down beside you at the table and linking his fingers with yours. "Did you have a good day?"
The smile that had barely left your face all day returned to it's full wattage. "I had the best day," you said, letting your head rest on his shoulder.
"Oh!" he said, making you sit up again and gaze at him. "I forgot to give you your present."
You'd laughed in disbelief, gesturing at your friends partying together in the kitchen. "Kookie, you did all this for me. This is enough."
He huffed. "You have to have presents on your birthday," he pointed out.
"Give it to me later," you told him, wanting something entirely different from him right now. You tugged at the sleeve of his frog onesie. "Can you take this off now?"
Jungkook's brow was furrowed adorably. "Why? You don't like it? I thought you loved frogs," he said with a concerned frown.
You grinned, pulling him in close. "I do love frogs. I just don't particularly want to sleep with one," you said in voice you hoped was low and sultry.
Sure enough, Jungkook's eyes darkened immediately.
"Consider it gone," he said, standing abruptly and zipping it down. You laughed at his eagerness, though he was wearing clothes beneath it, and seeing him struggle out of the onesie right there on the terrace at the slightest mention of sex was nothing short of amusing.
"Woah," you giggled. "My frog transformed into a handsome prince. Oh wait - never mind, it's just a bunny rabbit."
It was Jungkook's turn to laugh, before he was tugging you to your feet. "C'mon, you adorable nerd," he urged, in a deep voice who's meaning you were only too familiar with.
By the time he was pushing you into his room, shutting the door behind him, all laughter was gone. Your hands went around his neck quickly, desperately tugging at his hair.
Jungkook grinned. "So needy, little one," he commented, seeing the way you leaned back against the wall and pulled his frame against yours.
"You haven't called me that in weeks," you pointed out, as Jungkook pecked your lips lightly.
He nosed along your jaw, towards your throat. "I prefer calling you baby," he breathed, lips brushing your sweet spot and making your toes curl.
You smiled. "I like baby," you told him, pulling a strand of his hair between your fingers. "I like you, too."
His lips formed a grin against your collarbone. "I should fucking hope so," he let out honestly.
And then his lips were on yours again, and there was no more room for words.
It felt desperate, but compared to your previous encounters, it was slow and passionate. He led you to the bed, clothes melting easily from both of you, until you were entirely naked once more, bare and comfortable against each other.
Of course, you'd been with him like this last night, but you'd both been so exhausted that after a little action using your hands and mouths, you'd fallen asleep in each others' arms.
You hadn't had his cock, and fuck, you were feeling so desperate for it you might scream.
"It's been a while," he said now, gazing down at you as you spread yourself out below him on the bed and stared up at his naked form, one fist wrapped around his large cock. "Are you gonna be able to take it?"
You nodded, whimpering, the sight of him kneeling above you like this as good as one of your wildest daydreams.
"Use your words, baby," he coaxed, pushing you back a little to rest against the pillows.
"I can take it, daddy," you let the word fall from your lips, seeing his fist tighten on his cock as you did.
You knew Jungkook wouldn't be able to wait after that. He'd need to fuck you, and soon - which was ideal, considering you thought you might explode if he wasn't inside you in the next ten seconds.
"Good girl," he responded, guiding his cock to your entrance and easing the tip in slowly. "That's my girl."
The moment he was fully buried inside you, both of you knew it wasn't going to last long. It had been days - an age, in you-and-Jungkook-time - and besides, you hadn't had him like this yet, since you'd told him you loved him. It felt so strange and yet so thrilling to be able to lace one hand with his and press a kiss to the corner of his mouth when he began to move, uttering those three words that made him groan in pleasure.
"I love you too," he rasped back, eyes squeezing shut tight in delight, your core clenching over his cock like a tight fist. You were so wet for him that he worked up to a rhythm easily, leaving both of you gasping and trembling in mere minutes.
"Kookie - won't last," you warned him, the pleasure filling your voice, and before you knew it you were arching your back into him, clawing at his shoulders for dear life. "Oh, god, daddy-"
"Yes, baby, take it," he gritted, grasping your hips hard and bringing you onto his length over and over again. You were teetering at the edge, and so was he, until he snaked a hand around to your swollen clit and rubbed it purposefully. You nearly blacked out in pleasure. "You gonna take all of it?"
You nodded fervently, crazed with potent lust and love in equal measure, making you feel high on him. When you came it was like you were unravelling, like Jungkook had tugged on a loose thread inside you and you were unspooling beneath him. It didn't help that he was coming too, gazing at you with deep, wanting eyes, as galaxies exploded between both of you, lost in constellations of his groans and sighs and kisses.
It was now that you cried. Just a little - just one or two tears escaping down the side of your face - but crying all the same. It all hit you at once, the fact that this handsome, kind man had organised the whole day for you, that he loved you, and that he was yours, all yours, at long last.
Jungkook hadn't questioned it. He kissed the tears from your face as you both came down from your highs, and then he kissed your lips again, soft and slow and full of promise.
"Happy birthday, baby," he whispered against your mouth, making your heart sing with how much you loved him.
For a while afterwards you lay in a comfortable silence. Jungkook rolled off you and pulled you into his side, letting your limbs tangle together. It felt nice to lay with him this way, to feel him beside you and not wonder about why he was there or what he had become to you.
Which is why, when you asked your next question, it didn't feel scary at all.
"What happens tomorrow, Kookie?" you asked him - not concerned or worried, but just curious. You knew, after the euphoric day you'd had, that whatever came your way, the two of you could work it out.
Jungkook just grinned at you across the pillow, squeezing your hand sleepily. "You go back to Daegu. I go back to Seoul. We'll take it from there," he yawned. "Everything will be okay."
He made it sound so easy, that you truly believed it. Being with him was not going to be simple, but at the same time, loving him was the simplest thing in the world.
If you both wanted to make it work, you were going to make it work. Simple as that.
So you just curled into his side, pressing a kiss to the underside of the jaw as your eyelids grew heavy.
"Okay," you whispered. "I can work with that, bunny boy."
Jungkook grinned. "Brat," he mumbled sleepily.
You smiled lazily before you finally closed your eyes. "You love it," you replied.
"Yeah," he breathed, holding you tight. "I do."
Before he'd even finished that last syllable, you were both asleep.
Both dreaming about the future, and what it would hold.
Both of you forgetting entirely that Jungkook still hadn't given you your birthday present; that the key to his apartment he'd planned on giving you sat buried in his jeans pocket in its wrapped box, discarded on his bedroom floor.
He'd remember tomorrow, before you got on the plane to Daegu with Nia. He'd give it to you with earnest, hopeful eyes, and you'd cry again, and then you'd kiss him and promise to visit soon.
And both of you, though you were separate, would know that everything was going to be okay in the end.
Just like he'd said.
