Chapter Five: Break Time

Niall's POV

I wait for Liam to take the last picture with some of the fans who were waiting for us outside of the studio. We wave goodbye to the girls and turn around to go out to eat for our lunch break. Paul follows behind us making sure we don't get mobbed and says, "Okay boys, you have 1 hours until you have to be back in the studio."

"We know Paul. You don't have to keep reminding us, we're responsible lads. Are we not?" Liam says innocently being the guy who follows Paul's rules the most. 

"Well others in the group are not so good with the time," Paul declares and I can feel him looking at me.

"Hey, that was just one time. I was distracted!" I exclaim.

"Distracted by a girl," Paul reminds me. 

Liam then quickly says, "Oh, how was your date with her. Kayla, right?"

"Yeah, it was really good. Pretty amazing," I say wanting to tell him every little thing about the date. 

 We walk around the corner walking over by a cart selling sandwiches. Liam pulls out his wallet and orders our usual since we have come here many times during breaks while we are recording. Once he hands the worker the money Liam turns around to face me leaning on the vending cart, "So i'm guessing the 'I'll just wing it' worked," he says as he takes the change back from the worker shoving it inside his wallet. 

"Yeah, it did. We just walked around, went into a costume store, got some smoothies." I say acting like it was no big deal but on the inside i'm exploding with happiness just thinking about her.

"What did you guys do at a costume store?" Liams questions as he takes the sandwich from the worker.

I grab my sandwich that she hands me over the vending cart and follow Liam to a table. "We just messed around, you know? We tried on some costumes and just had fun," I explain as we sit down at the nearest table. "Here, I have some pics," I say as I reach into my black sweatpants pocket searching for my phone. 

I pull it out and activate the screen. I glide my thumb across the screen entering into my Photo Gallery and pressing one of my favorite pictures to enlarge it. I show the screen to Liam and he laughs, "What are you wearing?". Paul sneaks a peak at the screen and chuckles. 

"We picked out costumes for each other," I say turning the screen to face me again. I smile at my phone screen thinking about how much fun I had last night.

"Well if a girl got you to wear that then you must really like her. Man those pants looked tight," Liam laughed as he takes his sandwich out of the thin paper it comes in. 

"Don't even get me started on those! I respect all girls who go through the trouble of getting those on every day," I declare, opening up my sandwich too. 

"What about all the lads around the world that like wearing them?" Liam asks as he takes a bite out of his sandwich.

"I don't know what lad would want to voluntarily wear pants that make your balls that pressed up against you," I exclaim taking a huge bite out of my sandwich. I can tell Paul is trying not to laugh as he looks around making sure there are no mobs of girls for us. 

Liam laughs before taking another bite out of his sandwich. Once he swallows he says, "Well judging by the picture she's very pretty."

I smile at the fact that Liam likes her so far, "Yeah, she's a real beauty." 

"Are you planning on asking her out on a second date?" Liam questions taking a huge bite of his sandwich. 

"I already asked." I say smiling because I just can't wait much longer for it.

"Oh, no beating around the bush with this one." Liam states. 

"Well I couldn't wait much longer to go on a date with her and she felt the same. So we are going tomorrow. We would have gone today but she's spending the day with her friend," I respond, taking a bite out of the sandwich. 

"So what do you have planned this time? Or are you gonna just wing it again?" Liam says with a smile as he wipes some sauce from the sandwich off of his fingers onto a napkin. 

"This time we actually made plans. We're going to Nando's since she's never been there before." I explain proving I have the capability to make plans for a date. 

"She's never been to Nando's?" Liam gasps.

"Never! She said the closest one to her is 12 hours away. She was already wanting to go while she was here in London, so I thought I would take her," I tell Liam. 

Liams attention drifts from me to a girl standing beside our table looking at us. He smiles at her and ask, "Hello, can we help you with anything?"

"Your Liam Payne and Niall Horan, right?" she asks stepping a bit closer to our table holding a notepad and pen close to her chest. 

"Yes we are," Liam exclaims.

"Last time I checked that was our names," I respond after him.

She sets the notepad on the table and asks, "Could I get an autograph please?"

"Of course, what's your name?" I ask sliding the notepad closer to me and taking the pen from her. I sign my name the way I always do as she giddily watches me.

"Lesslie," she says as I slide the notepad to Liam handing him the pen. 

"Where you from, Lesslie?" I ask as Liam positions the notepad so he can sign it. 

"I'm from Arizona. Phoenix, Arizona," she manages to say. 

"I remember when we toured there. How do you handle all the heat?" I ask remembering how hot it was when we were there. 

"Yeah, you just got to be hot enough to handle the heat" she jokes.

Liam signs his name and hands the notepad and pen back to her, "There you go babe. So your on vacation here in London then?"

"Yeah, i'm here with my family." Lesslie says playing with her long, dark hair. 

"Well enjoy your vacation," Liam says being the sweet guy that he is. 

"Thank you so much," Lesslie says leaning in to give me a hug.

"Your welcome hun," I say as I hug her back. 

She hugs Liam and before she leaves Liam says, "Have a good day."

"You too," she replies before turning around to walk back to her parents waiting for her. She looks back at us and we wave goodbye to her. She waves back before heading off with her parents. 

"You guys have 15 minutes until you have to be back at the studio. Hurry up and finish those sandwiches so you boys aren't late," Paul directs us. 

Liam takes the last bite on his sandwich and I take the last few bites out of mine. We get up together to throw out the sandwich wrappers and then go back over to Paul who is waiting for us. "Did you find out if she was a fan?" Liam asks as we walk behind Paul.

"Yeah, she is. She said she is a huge fan." I answer then adding in, "She said she didn't realize it was me until she got back to her hotel room and saw the name on the cup."

"So she likes you for who you are and not what you are?" he questions being protective over me.

"Yeah, the best part is she told me she was already planning our 5th date before she even knew my first name," I cheered. 

"Good for you man," Liam says putting his arm around me. "But don't forget," he pauses for dramatic affect, "Niam is real." We both laugh at the joke and continue to follow Paul back to the studio.
