Chapter 14

Misty and Jay walk into the amphitheater wearing their uniforms. "Let's bring it in boys. Lets bring it in." Jay calls out to the team. Jay walks to the middle along with Misty. "All right. You all know I come from the Isle, right? Things are pretty wack. But there is one thing the Isle's got go Auradon. If you're strong, we want you by our side, girl or boy." Jay states while looking at the team, Misty smiles at his words. 

Chad chuckles "Hey. Jay, hold on here, we don't, uh... We don't break the rules here in Auradon. That's over on the Isle." He says a matter of factly. Misty rolls he eyes and Jay pulls out the rule book. "The team shall be comprised of a captain, a co captain and eight men." So, uh, give it up fro new team co captain." Jay and Misty smile as Lonnie walks into the room. Chad looks at the three confused. Jay place a whistle o Lonnie and Misty hugs her. 

Everyone claps for her and does a little bow to her. Misty walks up behind Chad and clears her throat and looks towards Lonnie. He sighs, "Fine" He says then bows to her, Misty and Lonnie exchange a smile. Lonnie blows the whistle "Give me 10. Come on guys." Lonnie says walking out of the circle Misty following suit. Everyone drops down to do push ups and Lonnie puts her foot on Chad's back. Misty chuckled and shakes her head with a smile. After they finish their push ups, Lonnie blows the whistle and looks at Misty for confirmation, Misty nods. Lonnie turns back to the team "Okay, practice is over. Get out of here. Go get ready for Cotillion." She ends practice.

As everyone leaves Misty walks over next to Lonnie. Lonnie calls Jay over. He turns "wait until I tell my mom." She says smiling at the two. Jay smiles and pats her on the shoulders "Lets get out of here." He says as all three walk out of the amphitheater.

Misty was in her room fixing her hair when their was a knock on her door. "Come in!" The door opens and reveals Evie and Doug with a dress rack. Misty looks up and smiles. "Oh hey you two, how dress delivery going?" Misty asks "Good just came to deliver the final dress." She says taking it off the rack and handing it to her. "Thank you Evie, and again you didn't have to make me a dress." "I know but I wanted to." Misty smiles and hugs her "Thank you" "Your welcome"

With that the two leave and Misty smiles at the dress and goes to put it on.

It was now the night of the cotillion. Misty had a weird gut feeling about tonight, but said nothing since tonight was about Ben and Mal. Misty was stand next to her parents while they wait for Ben and Mal to be announced. Soon Lumiere stands at the top of the stair case. the trumpets blow and Lumiere announces 

"The future Lady Mal." He steps to the side and Mal walks out.  Everyone gasps and the music starts playing as she walks to the top of the stair case. Everyone cheers and clap for Mal. As Mal walks down the steps  Adam walks up to Mal and helps her down the stairs. Once they get to the side where Misty and Belle were. Misty smiles and gives her a small hug. After they hug belle speaks up. "I know we were shocked at first, but you...You are exactly what Ben needs." Belle smiles at Mal. "And lucky for me, she doesn't go by first impressions." Adam says and they all laugh. Evie comes up to the group and they all let Mal go with Evie.

The trumpets start blowing again and Lumiere announces "Prince Benjamin!" Everyone cheers as Ben walks out. Ben walks down the stairs as he bows to Mal and Mal bows to Ben. One they stand up straight Ben says "Mal, I wish I had time to explain." He turns to the top of the stairs. where Uma comes out from the side. 

Everyone gasps and Misty's eyes widen. As Ben goes up the stairs to meet Uma Misty walks away from her parents and to stand next to Evie. Once they take her down to the bottom of the stairs  he takes Uma's hand and kisses the beast ring on her finger. Everyone gasps.

Ben and Uma walk down the steps and up to Mal "Sorry. It all happened so fast. Something happened to me when I was on the Isle with Uma. A connection."  Mal looks at Ben with disbelief "What are you saying?" Uma looks at Ben "Im sayin-" "It was love. It was." Uma finishes for him. Uma looks at ben and says "I realized how alike Ben and I are, you know" Ben smiles at her, "we are."

Mal looks at Ben "Ben. Did you go back for her?" she asks with tears in her eyes. Before he could respond Uma interjects "He didn't have to. I dove through the barrier before it closed and Im and excellent swimmer, so..." Mal looks at Ben with betrayal in her eyes. Uma steps toward Mal and grabs her hands "Listen, Mal. I just really want to thank you. I do. For everything." She then hugs  Mal. Uma continues the thank her. 

Uma pulls away and Ben comes up to stand next to Uma "Don't you see, Mal? You were right. You knew that we weren't meant to be together. That's why you never told me that you loved me." Ben says. Mal looks at him speechless. Ben turns to Uma and smiles, music starts to play and Uma hands her bag to someone and Uma and Ben begin to slow dance.

Evie and mIsty walk up next to Mal "Come on, Mal." Evie says as they both drag her away from the dancing couple. Everyone looks at the two angrily. "Not too thrilled I risked my life for him." Lonnie walks over "We're with you Mal" They all watched stunned. Jay walks over to Mal "Lets get out of here." Mal agrees and they all start walking towards the main staircase.

On the way out Mal is stoped by Ben's parents. "Honey, we're so sorry. We had no idea." Belle says "I'm gonna talk to him." Adam says. Mal turns back to the stairs. Jane runs past everyone and up to Lumiere. "Lumiere, unveil the gift. They have to see it." Jane blocks the group from moving forward.

"And now, for the unveiling of Prince Ben's masterpiece, designed especially for his lady." Trumpets blow and everyone turns around to the back to see a stained glass mural of both Ben and Mal. Everyone applauds and Mal looks at the mural with disbelief. "Ben did that?" Mal asks not looking away. "Yeah, he did" Misty says proudly.

She coos "Evie, M" Mal says and the two girls beside her take her hands and walk with her down the steps. "Ben's known who I was all along." Evie looks at her "He loves the real you, Mal." Mal makes the realization "A true love." Evie nods "Told you" Carlos says. 

Uma looks at the mural angrily and turns around, "Cover that back up!" she shouts at Lumiere. He disagrees and Uma turns back to Ben nervously "Um...Why don't  you tell everyone the present that you had for me, Ben?" Ben turns "I have an announcement. Uma will be joining the court tonight as my lady." Everyone gasps and whispers, Adam walks forward "Son" he tries to reason but is cut off by Ben. "Not now, Dad!" Ben shouts. everyone is taken aback, especially Misty. She had never heard him shout like that before, let alone at their dad. This was vey unlike Ben and Misty was now suspicious of what was really going on.

"Uh, so, as my gift, uh, to her, Im bringing down the barrier one and for all." Ben announces, everyone gasps in shock. Ben looks to Fairy Godmother "Bring down the barrier." She shakes her head "I most certainly will not." "I am your Prince! Misty tell Fairy Godmother to lower the barrier! I am your brother." Ben looks to his older sister. Misty looks at him upset, "Im not doing that, Ben" She glares at him. Uma looks at her dead in the eye "Obey him." Everyone gasps, Misty looks at Ben "Ben's been spelled." Evie they realized. "Uma found your spell book."

Mal looks up at the mural and then back at Ben. She calls his name and starts to walk towards him. "Look at me." "No, look at me. You love me remember?" "No you don't. ben look at me." Uma looks at Fairy Godmother "Bring down the barrier now!" She looks at her shocked "I do not take orders from you." Uma looks back at Ben, Mal starts to speak "Ben, I never told you that I loved you because I thought that I wasn't good enough. And I thought that it was only a matter of time before you realize it yourself. But, Ben, that's me. Impart Isle and part Auradon. And, Ben, you've always known who we were and who we can be. Ben, I know what love feels like now. Ben. Of course I love you. Ben, I've always loved you." Mal says and then kisses Ben. Everyone coos at the sight, Misty cringes slightly but is still happy for the two.

Once the two pull away Ben looks at Mal and smiles. "Mal."  Mal smiles up at him. Evie and Misty look at each other. "True love's kiss. Works every time." they say together and smile. Uma groans and turns to fairy godmother and reaches to the wand. "No! Guards! Seize her!" She calls out. Uma then runs to the edge of the boat. Mal stops everyone before speaking to Uma. "Uma, I know you. You are so much more than just a villain. And you have to believe me because I've been there. Do not let your pride get in the way of something that you really want." Uma looks between Mal and Ben and then her necklace starts to glow. and as Mal walks closer to her Uma turns and jumps off of the boat.

Everyone shouts after and goes to the railing and looks over it to see if they could find Uma. In the water there was a small gold glow soon the water rose  into a huge spout. out the spout was water that sprayed everyone on the boat. Uma spins out of the water and laughs. Everyone looks over the side and sees Uma as a large sea witch, very similar to her mother.

Uma looks up at Malm"True love's kiss won't defeat this. The world will know my name!" She shouts she launches her tentacles to the boat and hits above everyone, everybody ducks and screams in fear. Mal walks off to the side as she is breathing heavily, her eyes turn a bright green as she look at Uma. "Mal?" Ben calls after her

She turns to face  and she looks down as she is engulfed in purple smoke. Out of the smoke a dragon comes out of the smoke and flys over to Uma. Mal in her dragon form blows fire at Uma. Uma launches a tentacle at her. "Come on, Mal! Let's finish this once and for all." She challenges. They have a miny fight scene and Uma causes a wave of water to go onto the boat and causing the boat to rock.

Misty and Ben run to the edge of the boat,  Misty looks between Uma and Mal. She then looks at Ben. "I need to do something." She says to herself. Ben looks at her confused. "What?" Misty looks at her brother, "I need to do something." She says as she takes off her crown and goes up onto the railing. "Wait! Misty No!" She hears Ben call out. Everyone screams for her but she jumps into the water. Everyone looks over the edge of the boat in a panic and tries to call out for her.

Misty resurfaced from the water in between the two. "Guys Stop! Back down!" She shouts as she tries  to stay above water. but the heavy dress making it harder. Uma laughs "What are you gonna do, Misty? Splash me?" She laughs. "That's enough! I know Ben should be doing this but I'm doing it anyway. this has to stop. Fighting isn't the answer, it has to stop. Nobody wins this way. We have to listen and respect each other. We have to understand each other, become stronger together. Its not going to be easy, i know it won't. But lets be brave enough to try it." HS says looking between the two. She then looks only at Uma.

"Uma, I know you wants what is best for the Isle. I want what's best for it too, but this isn't the way. I want to help you, I want to show you that there are people to look out for you. You don't have to be alone anymore. Im here for you, Ben is here for you. We believe that you have a good heart and can change for the better. You deserve a second chance Uma. Please, help me make a difference, not just in our lives but for you." She reaches out her hand towards Uma. "Prove them all wrong, Uma. Prove yourself wrong. You don't have to fend for yourself anymore."

Uma looks at her sadly and she looks back up at Mal and then back at Misty. One of Uma's tentacles moves towards Misty. Mal snarls at Uma. In Misty's out stretched hand Uma places Ben's ring in her hand. Misty looks at the ring and the up at Uma with a sad expression. Uma looks back at her sadly and goes back into the water and swims away.

Misty looks to wear Uma went and back at Ben's ring. She sighs and starts to swim back to the boat. Once she gets to the boat. Jay and Carlos drop a rope latter for Misty to climb up. She climbs up the latter her dress weighing her down a bit as it was soaked with water. "There you go" She hears her dad from the boat. Soon Misty gets to the top and climbs over the railing with the help of her dad. Everyone cheers as she gets back on the boat. Ben walks over to her and hugs her.  They pull back from the hug and Ben places the crown crocked on her head. She smiles and shakes her head. They all walk over to the middle of the boat. 

They all hear screeching and turn to see Mal still in her dragon form land on the boat and get engulfed in purple smoke. When the smoke clears Mal apears in a new putple dress. One that is very similar to the one in the stained glass mural. Mal gasps as some parts of her dress were smoking, she taps them out and looks down at Ben and smiles. She picks up her dress and curtseys to him, Ben bows back at her.

Evie leaves to go meet up with Mal and Misty moves to stand near her brother. Two guards help Mal walk down the stairs as everyone cheers and claps for Mal. As Evie and Mal are talking and start to walk over Misty nudges Ben "Go get her" She smiles softly. Misty steps of to the side and When Mal and Ben meet up, ben pulls her in for a kiss. after they kiss Ben turns to eveyone "I owe you guys so much" Misty nods "So do I. So if there is anything that you need, or anything I can do for you.." Misty says walking up to the group.

Evie looks at her "Um Actually, There is, M. I know a girl who'd.. Who'd really love to come to Auradon. It's Drizella's daughter, Dizzy. She's like a little sister to me." Misty smiles at Evie remembering all the times she would talk about Dizzy. "The she should come. And speaking off, bring more kids to Auradon. Two months ago I talked with the council about bringing more kids. At the time they said that they would discuss it further. But I received news today that they have accepted the program and now we can allow more kids onto Auradon." She announced. 

Everyone cheers and Evie hugs her. After the hug A guard walks up to Mal. "Lady Mal, we found your spell book below deck. Uma had it." Mal takes it and looks at it. "You know, this seems like the kind of thing that belongs in the hands of Fairy Godmother. Fairy Godmother." She says. and she appears from behind the guard . "Okay, that's me. Thank you. Mmm-Hmm" She says looking at the book. "This belongs in the museum." She says as she hands her the book. Fairy Godmother laves the group.

Mal looks back up at Ben "I'm not going to be needing it anymore." They smile at each other then Mal sprays him water, and Ben splashes her back. Everyone cheers and claps.

Mal and Evie walk up the stairs to Misty and walk her to the main area of the boat with them.

During this part everyone forms a circle and everyone has their own little dance moment. Misty does a little dance movement by herself as she doesn't have a partner. After she does her dance bit she goes bak up the stairs to stand with her parents.

Ben and Mal run up the main stairs. when they get to the top Ben shakes his wet hair at his family and they all laugh.

Everyone turns and bows at the couple as they wave to the people.

Misty smiles at the two but then turns to the reader. "Oh! Hey reader! You didn't think this was the end of the story, did you?" Misty winks at the reader and turns to look back out at the boat.
