The End is Only the Beginning (Chapter 18)
05:04, 5 February 2018Quote: "As long as you regret, you have learned your lesson."
Olympus, right after Percy left.
All the gods rushed to the Olympian council room just as Percy left. They wasted no time getting away from the horde. Poseiden waved back to his son for what he thought would be the last time he would be seen.
"I can't believe we just left him to fight all of them." Apollo says worriedly.
"We did not leave him, he chose to save us, I do not know why, even after we wronged him." Zeus states.
"My son....sacrificed everything....for us." Poseiden nearly sobbed out.
"I was wrong about that boy, he truly is the greatest hero we have ever seen." Hera confessed.
"I second that, he has proven me wrong once again." Athena confessed, she rarely admitted being wrong.
"Maybe we could-" Apollo started
"No. It is too late. I can feel his life force leaving, he is alive, but critically injured." Hades chides in.
"I knew Perseus was the one who truly deserved to be my champion. But I never would of thought it would come down like this." Hestia said sadly.
The gods all sighed.
"We must summon all the remaining demigods and recover, hopefully Perseus's plan will work." Zeus commands.
However on the Olympus TV, it broadcasts events in the mortal world.
"This just in, the strange phenomenon that started earlier today has suddenly stopped. The random acts of destruction, the storms, the natural disasters, everything, have all ceased. For some reason, all of this have stopped with no logical cause. Experts and scientists around the world, struggling to find answers. It was as if someone teleported everything to the moon!" A reporter laughed.
Around the World
"No! Please! Someone help!" Said Richard Theo, son of Demeter, a young demigod who was being cornered into a tree by multiple hellhounds.
Suddenly the hellhounds all flashed away, leaving a confused Richard in place.
"Please! Don't kill me!" Yelled Carole Quince, daughter of Aphrodite, and a child. She was being chased by the Minotaur, who demolished everything in it's path.
Suddenly, he just flashed somewhere far away, leaving a thankful Carole.
"All hope is lost" said Fred Wilder, a son of Ares, who was with a group of 16 other demigods, all of which were surrounded by a circle of different monsters.
"This is the end."
"Why me?"
"Help us, someone!"
The crowd shouted in desperation.
And the monsters all left without a trace.
"Mom, help me! Dad? Where are you?" whispered Melena Walters, daughter of Apollo, who was about to be smashed by a grinning giant.
"Little girl make good meal in giant's stoma-" the giant stated, but was cut short.
Melena opened her eyes to see he was gone, vanished.
All these events occurred worldwide, demigods on the brink of death, only to be saved at the last second.
Back at Olympus
Apollo saw all these events, and showed all the Olympians.
Most gods stared in awe as every monster on Gaea's green earth instantly vanished to the moon.
"He actually did it..." Ares said in shock.
"He is that powerful...." Athena gasped.
"My son did it." Poseiden said with tears in his eyes.
"Holy...." Zeus stared.
The gods snapped out of their trance and summoned each demigod to Olympus.
They all stood outside the council room, and in the city. They held hands and combined their power to teleport every demigod that remained alive to Olympus. After a burst of light, a large crowd of demigods appeared. While the crowd was quite large, they were all that remained from the Hunters, Camp Jupiter, and Camp Half Blood. Anyone who wasn't there would be presumed dead, especially Percy Jackson.
The crowd shifted in confusion but bowed at the sight of the Olympians.
"Rise. Today Olympus has survived the impossible. You have all been teleported here to gather yourselves and recover so we may rebuild at a later date." Zeus boomed through the crowd.
"Thank you Lord Zeus for saving all of us." A demigod amongst the crowd said.
Zeus shook his head. "While I woud like to tell you all I saved Olympus, I did not. It was Perseus Jackson. He teleported every monster on Earth to somewhere far, far away. He knew he would not make it back, but still did it. We all are in debt, one all of us cannot repay."
The demigods looked in shock, many of Percy's closest friends started to cry. The Roman minor gods and goddesses were also here. Many manly tears were shed amongst the heroes, as well as the girls.
Many of Jack's friends whom have been tricked into thinking Percy was a weakling now know they were wrong. No weakling would willingly sacrifice everything for others who were against him.
Speaking of Jack, he was with Annabeth, who stood alongside the Olympians, acting as if they were part of the council. They received many glares from demigods and some gods alike.
Nico stood in shame. He blamed Percy for Bianca, even though he knew it was not his fault. And because of him, he left. He didnt even visit him when he was out of Tartarus. Nico heard about his return, but was too shy to approach him out of fear.
Thalia and many hunters gathered. While none of them liked men, this man gave everything for them, and their hatred of men cannot deny the fact a man saved them all.
"We will honor Percy Jackson, the true Hero of Olympus, by erecting a statue in his memorial. His first encounter with a monster, the Minotaur, when he defeated it with his bare hands." Zeus stated.
Many nodded their heads, Jack and Annabeth scowled, but stayed shut.
"Hepheastus, would you do the honors?" Zeus asked.
"Yes my lord." Hepheastus replied, as he clapped his hand and a huge block of gold the size of a car appeared. Hepheastus summoned a hammer out of the air and started working. Nobody knew how, but in under 10 seconds, the glob of gold was now a life-like statue of Percy holding the horn of the Minotaur, over his head. He did this with a hammer, somehow.
"Wow, just wow." Apollo whistled.
Hepheastus grinned at his work, as well as the applause given to his work by the crowd.
Soon, the crowd dissapated, going to recover their numbers, as well as heal the wounded. The people who stood at the statue were Percy's closest friends and family. Jason, Piper, Leo, Frank, Hazel, Reyna, Thalia, Artemis, Zeus, Poseiden, Hades, Hera, Hepheastus, Hermes, Apollo, Aphrodite, Hestia and surprisingly, Ares and Athena.
Each of them still stood at the statue. No burial due to no body. The gods rarely owe a debt, much less one they cannot repay. Percy's friends all looked at the statue in sorrow, they had lost a good friend.
Annabeth and Jack hid behind a pillar, watching their friends around the statue. Jack was infuriated. He was supposed to have all the glory, he should have the statue, not that Jackson kid. Annabeth watched her boyfriend and was disappointed. She should have stayed with Percy, she could of had the fame of being the girlfriend of Perseus Jackson, Savior of Everything. Sure she had some fame with Jack, but it was minor compared to what she could of had right now.
Annabeth did not care about anything except being at the top. She barely even acknowledges that Percy DIED. (I just want to emphasize that Annabeth is really power-hungry, so much that she has no qualms that someone died.)
Being a Minor goddess was okay, but not enough for her. She did not even have any powers yet, she was too young. Zeus had told them they needed to wait several centuries until their powers kicked in. Stupid.
It seems she was the only one who was outraged by this, what good was power if you couldnt use it until you were 300?
Jack and Annabeth needed the fame and glory. The two were both very inteligent for their ages, and needed to find a way to steal the fame from Percy for themselves.
Their thoughts were interrupted when a voice was heard.
"So, who's the funeral for?" A voice rang in the halls.
Annabeth and Jack hid behind the pillar, hearing everything that would happen.
The Olympians and Percy's friends all turned to see a face they never would have thought they would see again. In a very damaged armor, who was very injured, and covered in blood, limping through the halls.
It was Perseus Jackson.
First Person Now
As soon as the words came out of my mouth, every head turned to me. The gods and my friends both had their eyes widen like goggles, and their jaw was lower than Tartarus, trust me, Ive been there.
"Hey, what'd I miss?" I grinned slightly, but felt my broken nose start hurting again.
Every god, goddess and demigod all had the "WTF" face and slowly walked towards me. If I didn't know any better they were gonna kill me. Cough*cough*again*.
My friends were the first to come up to me.
Thalia reached and pinched my cheek, for the third time.
"Sparky, I assure you, for the second time, I am not a ghost." I chuckle.
Thalia gasps as she crushes me into a bear hug.
"It really is you..." she states in shock.
The rest of my friends come over and get into a group hug. It was great, finally being around my friends after being so close to losing everything. I see Nico not participating in the hug, he must still think I am mad.
"Hey Nico, get you're pale face over here." I grin.
Nico smiles for once, thankful that I am not angry towards him.
He wastes no time and gets in the group hug.
After a few seconds, we pull away, laughing at the gods, who were all still standing in awe at the sight of me.I suppose that it would be odd to see the person who was presumed dead at their funeral.
Poseiden was the first to recover, and went up to his son in a bone-crushing hug.
"Dad, bones are breaking." I react.
"Sorry son, but none of us can believe you actually survived." Poseiden says, still in half shock.
The rest of the Olympians recover from their state, and surround me, all congratulating me in different ways.
Apollo started a healing process on me, giving me much more energy, but due to my form, it will still take a few hours to heal completely.
"You have saved Olympus once again." Zeus grumbles, but gets a slight glare from Poseiden.
"Quite a miracle to survive all that." Hades says.
"How did you survive on the moon and against all those creatures?" Athena asks quite eagerly.
I tell them all what happened, and they seem dumbfounded that the lord of the universe helped me.
"Err....well that is quite an explanation. It seems you have come in contact with some powerful people." Zeus says a bit nervously.
Hestia went up and hugged me harder than Poseiden.
"You saved us all. I knew you were destined for greatness, but even I did not expect anything close to this." She states, proud of me.
"I know. Apparently destiny is extremely clingy, it only chooses me for some reason." I laugh.
We talk for a while, and the crowd of demigods are summoned back to welcome me home.
"Demigods, this man risked everything to save each of you. He is he true Hero of Olympus. Without him, we all, even us gods, would all be in the depths of Tartarus. Fate has been generous enough to bring him home to us, and we no longer have to stand in the shadows from monsters and Titans." Zeus boomed.
Hestia and Poseiden both clapped with pride in their eyes.
The crowd of demigods cheered endlessly for me. I blushed extremely hard during that moment.
If only they could see me now, Mom, Paul, Zoë, Luke, etc.
Me, the hero of legends, eternally remembered for my heroic deeds.
I personally didnt like that title, nor the thousands that were suggested. I did not want a huge title, I wanted something simple. Eh, maybe a good one will be found later on.
As soon as the ceremony was over, I walked through the crowd, receiving several compliments.
"Thank You!""You saved me!""Can I have your autograph?"
All were answered with "No problem" except that last one. I was really bad at receiving compliments.
"Ah see, my son is being too humble about his feats." Poseiden chuckled to his brethren.
Soon, it was just me and the gods together, who were deciding on some decisions.
"Both Camp Jupiter and Camp Half Blood have been nearly destroyed. Thalia's tree still stands, but he camp is almost in ruins. Camp Jupiter's outer walls have been broken, but the center still stands. What should we do to start repairing the demigods?"
"We should probably just rebuild both of them, seems like the obvious option." Ares suggested.
"You mindless neanderthal, the demigod population is only 34% of what it used to be. Having both camps would mean they would not be able to function due to not enough manpower." Athena snapped.
"Okay geez, you should have used that attitude towards Typhon, we would have won easily." Ares chuckled.
Some gods started laughing as well until Athena pulled out a spear.
"Why you b-" Athena started.
"Enough! We need to find a solution so we can start." Zeus silenced both of them.
"Well we could just rebuild one camp, and have the population stay there." Athena suggested.
"But which camp should we use?" Zeus questioned.
I spoke up. "We should use Camp-Half Blood, since that camp has Thalia's tree, which is more protective than stone walls, and if it does get too rough, we could always build a wall around the border along the tree, doubling the protection. While the inside is a bit destroyed, it can be rebuilt with the help of Hepheastus campers and children of Athena to build the perfect camp."
Athena looks a bit mad, since I guess what I said was either what she was gonna say, or what I said was better than what she was gonna say.
"Seems well enough. Anyone disagree?" Zeus asked the council.
No hands were raised.
"Then it is decided, all demigods will be relocated to Camp Half Blood. We will inform Chiron soon as well as the demigods." Zeus said and the council was dismissed. I was not part of the council, but I joined for obvious reasons.
After the council have all left
Annabeth and Jack laugh behind the pillar. They had listened to everthing that was spoken, and after some thinking, they had come up with a plan to demolish Percy's reputation once again.
They would get their glory soon, they knew.
They would break the hero of Olympus a second time.
