...Three

14:12, 20 July 2018

"There's a lot you need to know. But I actually can't tell you." Taylor said hurriedly as we walked back into the cabin.

"That makes like no sense." I said as I sat down on one of the chairs again.

"Karlie.." She sighed.

"Sorry, I.. I just find it hard to understand." I said as she sat down on the other chair.

She stayed silent and looked down at the table.

"No one will know what you're telling me. I promise I wont tell anyone, ever." I said.

"But.. Im so scared they'll find out." She said, her voice small.

"I wont ever tell anyone anything. I swear." I said, wanting to comfort her and make her feel safe with me.

"I already saw you.. uhmm change.. now anyway." I added when she stayed silent.

"Im so sorry." Taylor said as she got up from the chair and walked over to the kitchen. She poured us two more glasses of water and sat back down with me.

"For what?" I asked, still not knowing really what she should be sorry for.

"For scratching you." She said, her voice soft.

"Oh, its no big deal. Look the wound is already gone." I said as I stuck my hand out for her to look at it.

"Karlie, you don't understand." She said lowly, looking sadly into my eyes.

"What don't I unders.." I start but she interrupts me.

"You're becoming a werewolf!" She shouted, angrily slamming a fist on the table.

Me? A.. what?

"I.. I.. what.. but.. how? I mean.. you're not serious right?" I stuttered, panic completely taking over my mind now.

"You're becoming a werewolf." She repeated, her voice the normal volume again this time. She didn't look at me, she looked down at the glass in her hand. I looked at her in fear and got up from the table.

"You.. is that.. no.." I mumble softly, placing my own glass on the table. My breathing got faster and faster as I felt myself getting dizzy.

"Okay, Karlie. Calm down, I think you're having a panic attack." Taylor said calmly while getting up from the chair and walking over to me.

"Leave me alone." I said as she approached me. Her face fell and she stopped and looked down.

"Im sorry." She whispered. My breathing only became faster and the room started to spin around me. I fell onto the hard wooden floor and the world became black.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Karlie?" A voice said.

"What?" I asked, my eyes still closed. I opened them and immediately saw those icy blue eyes looking into mine. I was in the cabin still, laying on the bed that was placed in the middle of the room.

"What happened?" I asked the blonde.

"You had a panic attack." She explained. "And then you fell on the floor and blacked out."

Then my memories come floating back into my mind.

"Im becoming a werewolf." I said out loud as I sat straight up in bed and brought my hands to my face.

"Im becoming a werewolf." I repeated, crying now. I could feel Taylor's hand, stroking my back as I let out loud quiet sobs.

"Im sorry. Im so sorry." She whispered a few times. We sat next to each other for a while on that big bed, me crying and her apologizing and stroking my back.

"I need to know everything." I say after a while. "Tell me everything."

"Karlie, I cant." Taylor says softly.

"Im becoming one of your kind! I have the fucking right to know everything!" I said, my anger getting the best of me.

"What a fucking mess." I heard Taylor whisper to herself.

It stayed quiet for a long while.

"Okay." She said then.

"Okay? What okay?" I asked, still angry about this ridiculous situation. Who even knew werewolves really existed.

"Okay, Ill tell you everything. What do you want to know?" Taylor asked me, finally giving in.

"Im assuming you're a werewolf too?" I asked the blonde at first.

"No shi.." She started drily.

"No sassiness right now, Taylor." I said seriously, my mind still in pure panic.

"Okay, okay. Ask your questions then." She replied.

"When am I.. changing?" I asked immediately.

"About one or two months after you're infected." She said, looking at me with those blue eyes I cant stop looking into.

"Okay." I replied, thinking about new questions.

"Was that it?" Taylor asked in surprise.

"Of course not. Im thinking." I said annoyedly.

"Oh."

"Please just tell me something about werewolves." I said then.

"Okay." She replied, clearly thinking of what to tell.

"Uhmm I'm a daughter of the 'White pack'." She starts. "My father is leader of the pack and my mother is his match, obviously.."

"Okay wait. Match?" I asked her.

"Oh right, every wolf has one life long match. Their 'true match'. I think humans call it partners or couples or something. We simply call it matches. A wolf can only, truly love that one true match. Once they have 'connected' they will always feel love for each other and will most likely stay together until they die. " She explained.

"Okay. Got that. I think" I said, finding that really romantic actually, as I could imagine what 'connecting' meant.

"Okay so, my pack is known as 'shapeshifters'. Do you happen to know what that means?" She asked, looking at me curiously. We were both sitting on the bed with our legs crossed over one another, looking at each other.

"Nope." I said, my mood becoming a bit more relaxed as I watched the gorgeous, mysterious blonde talk.

"Shapeshifters can shift from being human to being an animal. We are wolfs so we can only shift to being a wolf. There are also other packs that can not change back to human or that only shift when its full moon." She explained. I nodded, signing her to continue.

"If a human gets scratched or bitten during full moon, he or she will become a classic werewolf. Like the ones you see in scary movies. The ones that kill their loved ones, once its full moon. Luckily we are not like that." She said, pointing at both of us.

"Oh, thats why you said that you were glad it wasn't full moon." I said, understanding this whole thing a bit finally.

"Yeah." She replied shortly.

"So why did you even scratch me in the first place if I may ask." I asked her lightly.

"Im still growing. Im close to being a full grown because I'm almost 18." She said.

"So?" I asked, not knowing what she meant just yet.

"So, those who are almost full grown have these uhhm.. attacks. We call it wildening. Its just like a panic attack, but mixed with anxiety and anger. It practically means that you're almost shifting, but not fully. It makes you feel extremely angry and scared, which is why I always start scratching, punching and biting things around me."

"So I just stood in your way practically." I said, slightly smiling at her.

She nodded and then took a deep breath. "Well uhhm.. I think I have to tell you this next thing too." She said, looking down.

"What?" I asked.

"Well. When a werewolf, scratches a normal human. Like any human. They will not become werewolfves. Except for when its full moon, then they become an evil one, right?" She says, not looking at me.

"Huh.." I mumbled. "Why am I becoming one then? Thought you said it wasn't full moon that night? Please tell me I'm not becoming an evil-"

"No it wasn't.. Full moon I mean." She said. I stared at her, my eyebrows furrowed.

"Well.." She starts. "When a human gets bitten by a werewolf they will always become one. A bite is how we make humans change into our kind. But when a werewolf scratches them, normally nothing happens. Except for when its full moon and when.. uhmm.."

"When? Why am I becoming one then, Taylor?" I asked again, running out of patience.

"When a werewolf.. uhmm.. scratches their 'true match'.. Then and only then, the human will also become a werewolf. Even if its just a tiny scratch."

I stayed silent for a little while, letting this new information all sink in. Taylor was looking down at her hands and was fidgeting with the hem of her sweater.

Im her.. true match? Im her destined lover, her partner, her soulmate or whatever?

"Oh my god." I whispered after a while. "Did you know this when you scratched me?"

"I didn't, I swear. I felt an attraction towards you that one night at your work. Thats why I wanted to get to know you better. I never knew you were my match until you came to see me this morning. When I saw your eyes had turned so light, I knew."

"Oh my god." I said again. "Taylor.. I.."

"I know. Its a lot. And its totally fine to not do anything at all with it. But its a fact that you're becoming a werewolf. And I'm gonna train you."

"Train me?" I wondered out loud.

"Yes, you're gonna need a lot of training. Becoming a werewolf isn't easy."

"Im already so done." I said drily.

"Im really sorry that I scratched you. I really am." Taylor apologized again, looking ashamed

"I guess its puberty." I joked, trying to make the air in the small cabin a little lighter. She looked up at me, her face confused.

"You don't know what puberty is huh?" I asked, amused by her lack of basic human knowledge.

"Explain." She just said, smiling slightly at me with her pearly white teeth.

"Puberty is like the phase before you become an adult or well.. a full grown, in wolf slang." I explained her. She nodded at me and smiles.

"How did you know I would come back to you?" I asked her after a long period of silence.

"I didn't know. I just hoped you would." She admitted, blushing slightly.

"Didn't know wolves could blush." I said teasingly.

"Oh shut up." She said, giggling and playfully pushing me away. Her giggles made me laugh too and soon we were laughing together about practically nothing.

"And now?" I asked after a while. We were laying on our backs on the bed now, staring at the ceiling in silence.

"Now?" Taylor asked, turning her head to the side to look at me.

"Now what? Im becoming a wolf. And then? Can I still be a normal human being and go to work and school and see my friends and family? Or am I going have dog like behavior soon?" I asked, looking into Taylor's gorgeous blue eyes.

"You will not become a dog, Karlie." Taylor laughed. I laughed with her since her laugh was the most contagious thing I had ever heard.

"Seriously though." I said after we caught our breaths again. "Will I be able to be a normal human still?"

"Depends on what you see as normal." Taylor replies, smiling slightly still.

"Taylor.." I sighed.

"Did you know I was a werewolf?" She asked then.

"Uhhm.. no." I said.

"Well, then that means you can live your normal human life still, if you want that." She explains.

"Yeah with these shining eyes huh?" I said sarcastically.

"Just tell people you have some kind of eye color disease. It always works. Trust me." Taylor said drily.

"Taylor.." I sighed again.

"I know." She said. "Its a lot to take in. I'm sorry." She looked down at her hands.

I nodded in confirmation. Even though she probably didn't see that.

"Taylor?"

She looked up again. "Hmm?"

"I.. uhmm.. I'm scared." I admitted.

"Im so sorry." She answered.

"Stop apologizing. Ive already forgiven you." I said lightly, wanting to make to other girl feel better.

"How old are you?" She suddenly asked.

"Eighteen. Why?"

"Oh my god." She muttered, avoiding my gaze as were still laying on our sides, facing each other..

"What? What is it?" I asked, panic starting to fill up my body again. Taylor didn't answer and so I shook at her arm. "Taylor?"

"You're literally becoming a wolf and also becoming a full grown by the end of this year." She stated.

"So?"

"So you're gonna be.." She started. "So grumpy."

"Oh my god, Taylor. You scared the shit out of me." I said. She started laughing loudly.

"I like you face when you're panicking."

"Thats just weird." I said as I smiled widely at her.

"Im weird." She just stated

"I don't see whats weird about being a werewolf." I answered drily.

"Uhm, excuse you. Humans are like the weirdest creatures of all." She said in defense, raising her hands up but smiling back at me.

"We are the smartest though." I answered.

I feel a force pushing me away from the side, towards the edge off the bed.

"Are you trying to push me off the bed now?" I asked Taylor as she was doing her very best to get me onto the ground.

"Never had a human in my bed. You stink." She said while laughing, pushing harder. I pushed back however, being almost just as strong as her, both in our human forms.

"You stink, werewolf girl." I said, laughing at the blonde trying so hard to get me off the bed. A few strands of hair were covering her face as used all her human strength.

"Says who?" She said then, grinning at me widely.

"Fuck off." I said, giving her a harder push. She backs off while smiling at me.

"Bet you never had anyone in this bed besides you and yourself." I said teasingly.

"Ha." She exclaimed. "How would you know?"

"Just do." I answered.

"Well, as if you had so many human 'partners'." She said grinning widely at me. "No one except for that Josh guy you dated for like a week."

I opened my mouth in an o shaped form.

"How the hell do you know those kind of things?" I asked her, my voice serious now.

"Just do." She answered, smiling devilishly.

"Oh hell no. You stalked me didn't you?" I ask her, looking into those bright eyes.

"I just thought you're hot. Thats all, okay?" She said then. "Werewolf life can be lonely sometimes."

She finds me hot? Oh my god.

"Tha-t-thank you...I guess." I stuttered then. She smiled once more, making a similar one appear on my face too.

Jesus Karlie, don't be so awkward.

"Its so not okay that you stalked me though." I said a little while later. She just shrugged her shoulders and laughed. I couldn't help but to smile at the sight of the cute werewolf girl laughing about me.

She is your werewolf 'match' or whatever and you wanna keep her for a while at least.

Plus shes really hot.

And sweet.

And funny.

And cute.

And prett.. okay enough. Get a grip. Shes a wolf. Youre becoming a fucking wolf too.

"Train me." I said then after a long silence.

"What? Now? Seriously.." She said, faking a yawn and stretching her arms out.

"Taylor, Im becoming a fucking werewolf. Fucking teach me yeah?" I said sharply, making her face look hurt for a bit.

"Sorry." I said. "Im just stressed thats all."

"Come back here tomorrow?" She said then, smiling lightly at me.

"Okay. I will." I said while getting up from the bed.

"Karlie, sorry that I scratche.." She started again as she was getting up from the bed too, standing next to me.

"No, its okay. I uhhm.. I'm also just happy I met you." I said. "Even though I wished you were just a human, that would make it all a whole lot easier.

She looked down at her feet again.

"I wish the same." She whispered. "I wish I was just a normal human."

I walked over to her, touching her arm with my hand.

"Hey, you're really nice. I like you a lot. And I'm glad that I know you now and that I can spend more time with you. Okay?" I said, trying to comfort her. She looked up and into my eyes with those striking blue ones.

"We can be normal." I added, smiling a bit at her. She smiled a sad smile back.

"Thank you for saying that. I would like to sleep now." She said, her voice tired and sad.

"Okay. Tomorrow here then?"

She nodded.

"See you tomorrow then, Taylor." I said, walking towards the door and turning around to wave goodbye to her.

"Can I uhmm.." She seemed to be searching for a particular word.  "Uhhm.. hug you?" She said, pronouncing the word 'hug' in a cute and funny way.

"Yes." I replied, smiling at her.

She leaned forward and hugged me tightly. "You're nice." She said softly. I giggled at her slightly unsocial and animal-like compliment.

"So are you." I said as she stepped back a bit again and let go of me. She then stroked my cheek with hers, made a cute growling sound, and smiled widely at me.

"What was that for?" I asked, smiling just as wide as her, my cheeks turned slightly red.

"Just a.. uhmm wolf, goodbye, greeting thing I guess." She mumbled, slightly blushing too.

"Its cute." I say, opening the cabin's door. She smiles and folds her own hands together cutely, fidgeting with them.

"See you tomorrow." I said, waving at her.

"See you tomorrow, be careful on your way home please?" She said, smiling at me and waving back.

I nodded and closed the door behind me, walking into the cold autumn air. The sky was still grey and the trees still dark. It seemed like nothing had changed in comparison to when I came here earlier in the morning. The only change now was though, that I was becoming a werewolf soon.

"What the fuck.." I mumbled as I started walking home. All the things that had just happened, processing in my head.
