I woke up alone on the sand. Calypso must've woken up before me and gone off to do her daily routine. I walked around the small island and found her in her garden, talking to her plants.

She must've heard my footsteps behind her because she said, "Stop. Don't come any closer." I froze. She stood and faced me. I'm no expert on girls but judging from her tone of voice and body posture, I could tell she was angry at me. Again though? I thought we had a good night. "Why do you look so clueless? Did you look around you when you woke up?"

"No," I admitted.

"Well, go ahead. Go back to the shore and take in the scenery. Maybe then you'll understand."

I figured if I did this, it'll satisfy her. I walked back as slowly as possible, so I could think about what I could've done wrong this time. I got distracted when I noticed black sand beneath my feet. I looked up and saw that the trees were all black too, like they were burned. Putting all the pieces together, I realised that I must've gotten so excited that I set the island on fire. I cursed myself. How could I be so stupid? 

I ran to Calypso's garden. Thank the gods she was still there. She was angrily picking at some purple flowers with her back to me. "Calypso, I'm sorry!" I called. She didn't turn around. "I don't belong anywhere, I know that. I never felt comfortable anywhere." I thought about Gaea's words. "I'm the seventh wheel." She turned around. Her white dress was all covered in dirt, but that didn't seem to concern her. Her eyes were fixed on me, a murderous look on her face. "Please don't be mad at me, we just got over that." She turned back to her plants without another word.

I knew I probably shouldn't have, but I entered her garden. The sweet smell of flowers hit me all at once, reminding me of Calypso's scent. I walked up to where she was kneeling, summoned the copper rose from the dinner before, and step it down by her.

Then I walked away with the hope that she'll forgive me.
