chapter cinco

05:21, 17 August 2017

After the fourth day of not talking to Calypso, just when I was starting to go insane, she found me by the shore. She didn't say anything at first, just sat next to me and laid her head on my shoulder. I took this as an invitation to put my arm around her. She moved closer to me.

"Ah, look who finally came around." I nudged her. "I knew you would. All da ladies looooove Leo."

"Don't push it," she said very, very quietly. If her head wasn't right by my ear, I probably wouldn't have heard her. I looked down and saw that she was smiling.

We watched the sun set for a few more minutes until I picked up the courage to do the big boy thing. I lifted her head off my shoulder and cupped her face in my hands, that way she was forced to look at me.

"Do you realise we're back where we started when I first came here?" I said. She winced and looked away at the memory. Bad move, Leo. I continued, "I'm sorry if what I said the other night was wrong but I—" Whatever I was going to say next was cut off when she pressed her lips against mine.

She was the first to pull away. "I love you, too, Leo, but we can't do this. It's a curse."

"I'm not that bad, am I?" I joked.

"You know what I mean."

I didn't want to keep thinking about it so I kissed her again. "Don't run away from me this time," I mumbled between kisses and she chuckled.
