-areum's pov-

i was in a room... it was dark and i couldn't see anything. all i could hear was people talking and a baby crying

i could barely make out what they were saying, "you can't keep her!" an older lady screamed, "mother at least let me hold her!" a young lady begged

that's when i was able to open my eyes ever so slightly, the young lady was sweating profusely, she looked exhausted and tired; like she could collapse at any moment. she was laying on a bed, her legs covered in blood; she looked like she had just given birth

the older woman was an old lady with white long hair and she was very wrinkly; there was also a man behind her, he was looking down at the ground in shame, he had slim eyes and slightly long dark raven hair

"jongsuk! please say something! you just can't let her take away our child!" she screamed out sobbing. "you know we can't do anything about it!" he yelled looking down, some tears falling out of his eyes

"please mama... let me at least give her a name. let me hold her at least" she choked through her sobs, "she already has a name and you know it" the mother said looking down at me almost in disgust

it was at that moment that i realized i was the baby crying, "mama let me hold her please" she cried

is this how i was born?

the mother reluctantly moved to the woman's side and put me in her hands, she looked down at me with love. there was a warmth in her eyes

is that my mom?

"whatever happens... know that i love you, and that you'll always be my baby... know that even though your name is meant to be moon selene, you will always be my little areum" she cooed in a whisper, tears still falling from her eyes, "that's enough! we need to get her away from here!" the mother yelled

she continued to yell but it all became inaudible to me

-chan's pov-

i was taking a bath in areum's room. i just woke up and thought i smelled a little musty so i decided to take a shower. her room was one of the nicest in the entire house. it had the biggest windows and the best view

"man i should have called dibs on this room" i said ruffling up my hair a bit in the mirror, i took off my clothes and got into the tub, "man this is nice" i mumbled slouching

but my relaxed mood quickly changed when i remembered what happened in shenzhen, the hotel exploded. i haven't had the chance to ask the jun hyung about it, i'm sure they'll fill us in today.

after that we have to make a plan about what happens after, like is areum still going to go to school, and how is she going to be protected when she's in school. how did this happen...

i didn't have much time to dwell on it, because i heard areum screaming. i got out of the tub as quickly as possible, putting a towel around me and getting out of the bathroom (vampire speed)

when i opened the door, i saw her screaming in her sleep. she must be having a terrible nightmare. i went to her side and tried to shake her awake

just then jeonghan came into the room, "what's wrong" he shouted, "i don't know she just started screaming, she's having a nightmare" i said over her screams, "areum wake up!" i screamed, this entire time i was trying to shake her awake but she wouldn't wake up

jeonghan pushed me out the way and lifted her up and she finally stopped screaming, she opened her eyes slightly and started crying

-jeonghan's pov-

as soon as she started crying i pulled her into a hug, putting my hand on the back of her head trying to comfort her. but she wouldn't stop crying, "areum shh... it's okay, you're okay now" i said to her

"chan put some clothes on and bring something for her to drink" i said with a much colder tone to chan, "yeah, i'll go do that" he went into the bathroom and came out fully dressed and went to the kitchen

areum was still crying, "areum, look at me" i mumbled, she pulled away and looked at me (a/n i just realized this girl cries a lot... sorry about that) "are you alright? what happened?" i asked her concern in my voice

"nothing i just... had a bad nightmare i guess" she said sniffing and drying her eyes with her sleeves, "what was the dream about?" i asked her in a soft voice, "i don't really know... but i think... i just saw my mom" she mumbled, not sure of what she said

-chan's pov-

i ran as quick as i could (vampire speed) but before i could even completely walk out the room seungcheol looked like he was about to open the door with the other's behind him, they looked worried sick

"what's wrong with areum?" he looked at me with dark eyes, "she's alright, she just had a nightmare and started screaming in her sleep. she's okay" they looked visibly relieved

"i'm going in" mingyu and vernon said in sync, "no... she's talking to jeonghan, listen" i said pointing at my ear

they became silent and listened, "i'll go get her water" i said as i walked away from them and made my way to the kitchen

-soonyoung's pov-

is she okay? does she need my help? i should go in there. no! chan sai- my train of thought stopped when i heard something areum said

i was outside her room with the other boys

being a vampire has it's great advantages like super speed, great sight, and amazing hearing

"i don't really know... but i think... i just saw my mom", the moment she said that i stopped in my tracks, what did she just say?

i felt my blood run cold, that's it i'm going in there! the other boys didn't seem to notice and hesitantly left, looking at her door before they left

i softly knocked on her door, i heard jeonghan say 'come in', "hey" i said softly walking towards areum and kneeling in front of her. jeonghan was sitting next to her and she had her head on his shoulder, she had red eyes

"what did you just say?" i mumbled, she hesitated before answering, "in my dream... i think i saw my mom" she mumbled

"but it's probably nothing, it was just a silly dream. it probably meant nothing" she chuckled looking down at her hands and fidgeting with the ring we gave her

"areum, supernatural things are real. you live with vampires, it could be much more than a dream" jeonghan said, "oppa i'm just a simple human person, i'm not part of the supernatural, meaning that little dream probably meant nothing" she said denying

"we know nothing of your parentage, you could very possibly be part of the supernatural" i said with a serious expression as i held her hand

"what was your dream about?"

-areum's pov-

"i... um at first... it was c-completely dark room, all i-i could hear was a baby crying and people s-shouting... when i was able to open my e-eyes, there was an o-old lady holding me. she had long, white hair and she had a lot of wrinkles. s-she was shouting but i couldn't under-s-stand her. there was also a young lady, she looked like she was ready to collapse, she had blood between her legs, l-like she had just giver birth. she was beautiful... she had long black hair, it was as dark as the night and very pale skin. there was also a man behind the old lady. they were fighting about w-what to do with m-me, they young lady didn't want to l-let her take me away, and the old woman seemed to h-hate me" i mumbled through hiccups

"what happened after that?" jeonghan said, he put me so that i was sitting sideways on his lap and my head was resting on his chest. soonyoung was still holding my hand, he looked up at me with a reassuring smile

"the old woman let the young la-" i stopped for a moment, "my... mother" i hesitated, "she let my mother hold me, she said that she would love me no matter what... and then she called me... moon selene..." i mumbled the last part, "but before that the old woman said i already had a name before she called me selene"

they looked at me for a moment not knowing what to say, "hey here's you water" chan said walking into the room, he walked towards me and handed me the water sitting down next to jeonghan, "jun said he was going to help me find out who my parent's were and chan oppa said he would help too" i mumbled taking a sip of the water, trying to calm down

"yeah, we'll help you too... it's just that, we might have to put it on hold" soonyoung said, "why?" "areum, right now someone's after us and they might hurt you as well. that should be our number one priority. we'll find who they are don't worry. it might just take a while before we get to that" jeonghan said next to me, "i should go tell jun hyung" chan said getting up and walking out the door

"come on, you need to take a shower" jeonghan mumbled getting up and holding me bridal style, i gasped when he picked me up, "oppa i-i can walk it's alright" i stuttered, he looked down at me before gently putting me down
