Hey guys! So I decided to make a Yuzuru Hanyu fanfic because why not right?? I've been dreaming of becoming a figure skater but unfortunately, I'm not lucky enough to be financially supported by my parents. Idk but it has been like almost 10 years when I started watching figure skating competitions and I fell in love with the sport. Now I'm turning 21 in July and I hope it's not too late for me to start even just with the basics.

ANYWAY, I've been rambling. On to the story!

3rd Person POV

7 years ago, 2010 World Junior Figure Skating Championships

The Hague, Netherlands

This is it. Her last season as a Junior. Next season she'll be able to compete in the Senior level together with the current greatest figure skaters of all time, especially Yuna Kim and Mao Asada.

She has been training for the whole year, worked her ass off during the whole season. This is not the time to be nervous. Not now. Not ever.

"Please welcome our last skater, Luna Saito of Canada"

The applause of the audience echoed through the whole stadium. Luna placed first during her short program and is the last skater right now for the free skate.

She closed her eyes, held hands with her coach and finally, set off to the middle of the rink before the 30-second mark ends. She wasn't nervous. To be honest, her heart is beating so fast because of excitement. She can feel it. This is gonna be a good day.

Her free skate music is Firebird by Igor Stravinsky, a piece of music befitting her personality; exciting, adventurous, outgoing.

Luna hit the first jump of her program, her mastered triple axel, as well as the spins, step sequence, and choreographic sequence. As the second half is about to start, she thought to herself, "I have to land all of them."

The second half of the program consists of all but one of her jumps, all being combination jumps and another planned 3A+3T combination. "There's no time to rest. Just wing it" she told herself. Her step sequence matches the climax of the music as she hit every beat and every note. Faster, and faster, she glides across the ice with a gorgeous ina bauer before doing her last jump, the 3A+3T.

With excitement as she finishes her combination spin, she shouted "YES!" that was seen by everyone. Indeed, Luna's performance was a masterpiece. Everyone in the audience gave her a standing ovation and it started raining lilies and tulips in the stadium. Of course, her favorite flowers.

She stood in the middle of it all. She never realized that throughout her 4-minute performance, she barely breathed. And that's what Luna liked, the rush. As she was skating back to her coach and go to the Kiss&Cry, she can feel her heart beating so fast, too fast, and it was getting harder to breathe. Her vision was hazy and her head is spinning. However, she held through and just shook her head.

Her coach, Coach Tracy, hugged her so tight as she handed Luna's sky blue blade guards.

"You did so well, Luna. You made me, your family, and your country so proud." Coach Tracy whispered as she hugged Luna at the Kiss&Cry waiting for her score.

Luna just smiled, she tried to at least as breathing was getting more difficult while waiting for her scores. She stared at herself in the monitor as they replayed her highlights in slow motion.

"This is where I'm supposed to be. No matter what other people say. This is my life. And I love it." she thought to herself.

"The scores please for Luna Saito of Canada. 170.46. Which makes her total score 253.51. A new world record for both the free skate score and combined total score!"

Luna was shocked, to say the least. She was speechless and just sat there with wide eyes. She couldn't believe it.

The audience roared and cheered for Luna as she waved to everyone mouthing countless of thank you's.

As the medal ceremony was still after the men's free skate, Luna headed backstage with her coach to fix her things.

As they reached their destination, Luna suddenly leaned against the wall, slowly sitting on the floor, clutching her chest. Coach Tracy ran to Luna.

"Luna! Luna! Are you okay?! Oh my God! SOMEONE PLEASE. CALL THE MEDIC! WE NEED AN AMBU.." Coach Tracy was shouting for help as Luna felt herself slipping away, her grip on her chest slowly loosening.

And finally, she found herself in nothingness.

Luna's POV

I groggily woke up to the sound of Jung Hoseok's voice singing Ego. Yep. That's my alarm. It's the only alarm that wakes me up. I pressed my phone and just laid on my bed, staring at the ceiling. I didn't want to think about it but I just can't help myself. Where did everything go so wrong?

I then pushed myself out of bed, took a bath, and just dressed with a beige hoodie, black leggings and a cream beanie.

I walked downstairs to see my dad sipping his black coffee in the dining table while reading the morning newspaper and mom in the kitchen obviously cooking up some magic breakfast.

"Hey, dad. Good morning mom! Where's Sky?" I said as I kissed both their cheeks.

"Here is your mighty brother, Lil sis." A booming sound came from the top of the stairs as my 'might brother' also came to the table.

Sky Saito, my older brother. He's 3 years older than me and even though I'm already an adult, he treats me like a damn teenager. Everyone does.

Since the incident 7 years ago...

I snap out of my trance as I get a whiff of the heavenly smell of bacon coming to the table.

And from there, all hell broke lose as I and Sky fought who gets the last piece of bacon.

"Luna, don't forget to drink your medicines." Mom said while shooting me a glare.

I choke on my food and laughed nervously "Uhhhhhh, they're in my room. I'm drinking them I promise." NOT. I hate medicines. They're so big and swallowing about 8 pieces of them makes me wanna gag.

"Are you ready, Luna?" I heard dad say from the front door as I came out of my room.

"Yea, dad. I just had to get my phone. By the way, why did HE have to go with us?" I rolled my eyes referring to my brother standing beside me tapping away on his phone.

"Well sweetie, because he studies at the hospital that we're gonna go to remember?" Mom laughed at me.

"So? I thought he has no classes today?"

"I don't. I just wanted to see who's the doctor in charge of you today." Sky said nonchalantly.

"Ugh fiiiiine~" I said as I groaned. And off we go to the doctor's. yay.

5 hours later

I walked quietly to my room and locked the door. I sat on my study facing the window and looked at the clouds passing by. I sat and eventually, I felt tears falling from my eyes even though I felt numb. What did I even expect...

Flashback to earlier at the Hospital

"Luna we've talked about this. Why aren't you drinking your medicines?" Dr. Ryans said.

"I WAS drinking them. I just.. There's no point anymore. We both know that." I looked at him with a serious face.

"There was a point but you threw it away by not drinking what you're supposed to be drinking!" He exclaimed.

Yes that's right. I'm a lost case. I have Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy.

"And you made it worse Luna. I didn't want to give you a timeline but you made it so clear now. 1 and a half years, Luna. 1 and a half." He continued and I just stared at him.

To be perfectly honest, I didn't care. I didn't want to care. I stopped caring when my life, my sport, was harshly taken away from me when I was at my peak. I looked at him in the eye and said,

"Don't tell my parents. They're making things problematic already. Besides, 1 and a half years is not that bad. It's still far from now so let's not make them worry about something too simple."

So what my parents think is that it was just a normal checkup. I told them myself. And they trust me with things like that. They don't even know I flush my meds in the toilet fufufufu.

As I look at the clouds passing by, I wiped my tears and accepted my fate. Everything became so easy to accept when I lost figure skating anyway. And so I took out a pen and a note pad.

I wrote in calligraphy at the top of the paper

                                                                            Bucket List

And then the first one I wrote:

                                             1. Go back to Competitive Figure Skating
