(Echo, Raiden, Liu Kang, Cyber Sub Zero, Kenshi, Night Wolf, Smoke, Kitana, Jade, Jax, Kabal, Stryker, Johnny, Skarlet, Rain, and Sonya are gathered at a table)

Raiden: I do not know. My attempts to alter future events have had negative consequences. Originally it was supposed to be Smoke in his cyber form. Sub Zero never should have undergone this transformation. Enlisting him may further divert the flow of time

Echo: I disagree, Sub Zero might be a valuable ally

Stryker: I agree with the ninja. We need intel, right? Let's send him back to out world, but undercover

Sub Zero: The cop is right. They will be unaware of my defection. I could deceive them

(Meanwhile)

Noob Saibot: Earth realm is finished. It will not be missed

(Cyber Cyrax and Noob Saibot walk away)

(Cyber Sub Zero walks over to Cyber Sektor)

Sub Zero: I killed him in earth realm

Sektor: He should have been saved for interrogation

Sub Zero: He was formidable. I had no choice

Sektor: Follow me, we must lead a new mission

(Cyber Sub Zero follows Cyber Sektor through a portal)

Sub Zero: What mission brings us here?

Sektor: I have scanned your neural net, 5-2-0.Your neuro modulators appear to have been recalibrated

Sub Zero: Impossible

Sektor: The experience has been deleted from your system. Remove your access panel

(Cyber Sub Zero grabs Cyber Sektor's hand and punches him away)

Sektor: Your programming has been corrupted

Sub Zero: My soul was corrupted, now it is cleansed!

(Cyber Sub Zero fights Cyber Sektor and is able to win the battle with a hit from a built in electric arc thrower)

Sub Zero: Artificial enhancements are no substitute for the human soul

(Cyber Sub Zero hacks Cyber Sektor for information)

Sub Zero: Thank you, Sektor

(Soldiers are being held hostage by Kano, Kintaro, and Goro)

(Kano laser eyes a couple of soldiers as they scream in pain)

Kano: Oi! Run about, will ya!

(Cyber Sub Zero walks towards Kano)

Kano: Finally! Come on, we gotta get them to the graveyard at Saint Dominics. On your feet! All of you!

Sub Zero: For what purpose?

Kano: Don't care, really. So long as I get paid

Kintaro: He said on your feet!

Goro: Come on, up

Kintaro: Get up

(Goro and Kintaro are both frozen by Cyber Sub Zero)

Kano: Hey! What're y-

(Cyber Sub Zero freezes Kano)

Sub Zero: I will help you

(Cyber Sub Zero freezes the chains on the soldiers and shatters them)

(Kintaro and Goro begin to break free)

Sub Zero: Go! All of you! Now!

Soldier: Lets go, come on!

(The soldiers run away)

(Goro and Kintaro break free)

Kintaro: Your treachery will be punished!

(Cyber Sub Zero fights Kintaro and Goro at the same time. Both opponents are strong and bulky, but Cyber Sub Zero's ice powers, armor, and weapons allow him to take both of them down)

Sub Zero: All of those teeth and claws, yet still overmatched

(The bell tower begins to shake)

(The soldiers are out back in their previous place by soul magic)

Sub Zero: Behind me!

(Ermac flies inside the bell tower)

Sub Zero: Come no further, fiend of out world!

(Cyber Sub Zero fights Ermac. Ermac is definitely a challenging fight, but it isn't anything Cyber Sub Zero can't handle)

Sub Zero: You are not so fearsome

Soldier: Thanks, I thought we were done

Sub Zero: I must go, I need to investigate the graveyard

Soldier: We'd go with, but we need to return to our unit

Sub Zero: That is for the best

Soldier: Good luck, man

Soldier: Are you kididng? He ain't gonna need luck

(Cyber Sub Zero travels to Saint Dominic's graveyard, where Noob Saibot and Quan Chi are preforming soul magic on soldiers while Cyber Sub Zero is spying on them)

Quan Chi: (Random enchantment words)

(Meanwhile)

Comm: This is Sub Zero, I have encountered Quan Chi. He seems to be casting a spell

(Raiden has a vision)

Night Wolf: Raiden, what is it? What did you see?

Raiden: One of Shao Khan's soulnados, on a scale that I thought was unimaginable. All of earth realm's souls imprisoned absorbed by Shao Khan, multiplying his power!

Night Wolf: That is what Sub Zero has found?

(Raiden's amulet cracks)

Rain: I'm beginning to think this will not work

Skarlet: As am I

Raiden: No matter my efforts, the future remains in peril. How could I have failed earth realm?

Night Wolf: Do not lose faith in the spirits, Raiden. They will guide you, protect you

Echo: We haven't failed yet, we still have time to do something

Smoke: Agreed, what should be our next move?

(Back at the graveyard)

Night Wolf: Sub Zero, we will disrupt the soulnado, I will be there momentarily

Sub Zero: Hurry, the spell appears to be nearly complete

(Cyber Sub Zero walks towards Quan Chi and Noob Saibot)

Quan Chi: Who is that?

Noob Saibot: The one Kano warned about, he is mine

(Noob Saibot walks up to Cyber Sub Zero)

Noob Saibot: You. You are not worthy of the name "Sub Zero"

Sub Zero: Who are you to judge?

Noob Saibot: I wore those colors before you

Sub Zero: Bi-Han?!

Noob Saibot: Yes, Kuai Liang. It is I, Bi-Han. Quan Chi has restored me

Sub Zero: Restored? You and I both are flawed copies of our former selves

Noob Saibot: I have no flaws, Quan Chi has perfected me

Sub Zero: For what end? To serve the nether realm and out world?

Noob Saibot: It suits my purpose

Sub Zero: But brother, we are-

Noob Saibot: We share blood, we are not brothers

Sub Zero: Then I will not regret your defeat

(Cyber Sub Zero fights Noob Saibot. Both are familiar with the Lin Kuei's fighting style, so the fight is even for a while until Noob Saibot's shadow clones jump into the mix)

(Cyber Sub Zero uses his mechanical body to his advantage as he fights his "brother", and he's able to beat him)

Sub Zero: You are right. We share blood. We are not brothers

Quan Chi: (Random enchanting words)

(A soulnado forms above Quan Chi, and the soldier's souls get sucked into it)

Night Wolf: Go! Your soul is not safe!

(Cyber Sub Zero runs away)
