Sex. It was easy. Athena just went through the motions with Alice that night in the stranger's apartment. Now she stood in the dim morning light debating if she should go or stay. What would she say if she stayed? I had fun? We should do this again? Nothing sounded right. So Athena showered, dressed in last night's clothes and ordered the Alice girl breakfast, not knowing what she'd want she ordered a bit of everything. Athena sat in the kitchen in complete silence. Was she now over Carol? She didn't know. Was she gonna keep hanging out with Alice? She didn't know that either. A few minutes later there was a knocking on the apartment door, Athena opened it and took the boxes of bagels, doughnuts, and several breakfast platters.

A few more minutes passed by before Alice woke up. She stumbled out of her bedroom a little shocked to see Athena. "You're still here?" Athena looked up at her. "I can go if you'd like." Alice was torn between saying yes and wanting Athena to stay. "You can stay...if you want." Athena nodded. "Here. Eat. I ordered different foods not knowing what you wanted." Alice sat opposite Athena and began eating some of the pancakes in a styrofoam container. "Not used to coming back to someone's place?" Athena shook her head. "Not really my style."

After a little while Athena decided to leave. Alice was in the shower so Athena left a note. It said she had a nice time. Nothing more. Nothing less. Once Athena was back in the compound she slipped into her bedroom and took another shower. She was clean but not clean enough for her sake. She needed to feel something familiar on her skin. A way to wash away her one night stand. After a little while Athena was dressed in shorts, and a rugby shirt her hair up in a high ponytail she sank onto the sofa next to her mother. "You ok?" Natasha asked. "I think so. I just had my first one night stand." Athena replied bluntly. "Congratulations, now you're officially moving on from Carol." Natasha added.
