Josie's POV
As we were trying to find our way out of the castle, some ninja rebels found us in a newsroom and were trying to restrain and kill Ted. But I was trying so hard to pull away the one holding him so the other could shoot Ted.
Me: Let him go! He was helping us!
Ted: I made some mistakes before, but I gave you guys the message didn't I?
Ninja Rebel #6: What message?
Female Villager #2: The one with us running on the treadmill! LET HIM GO!
Ninja Rebel #7: YOU LET GO!
While the villagers were arguing with the ninja rebels, a few more ninja rebels entered the room with panic in their eyes.
Ninja Rebel #5: Didn't anyone get my call? Dan the Man has betrayed us and taken down King Resistance!
Villagers and the Ninja Rebels: *gasp*
Ninja Rebel #8: We were close to winning! Do we have to make a tactical retreat?
James: NO!!!
The ninja rebel who shouted barged into the room with two other ninja rebels in his arms and laid them both on the floor. Then, he glared at all of us.
James: King Resistance may be defeated...but for now, I'm in charge! So you, *points at Ninja Rebel #7* carry our leader out of the castle this instant!
Ninja Rebel #7: What about the guard right here?
James: *glares at him* I heard a little bit of you guys' argument through the door. Get him out of here as well.
Ninja Rebel #7: What?! But...
James: That's an order, rebel. But if he goes rogue and starts attacking, take him out.
The ninja rebel saluted and then carried King Resistance on one of his shoulders while another ninja rebel was just about to escort me and the villagers to find the exit.
But then...Dan came into the room.
3rd POV
Shocked by Dan's arrival, Josie ran to the opposite door behind her.
Villager #4: Josie! Where are you going?! We're about to leave!
Dan: Josie!
He was about to chase her but James stopped him.
James: Hold your horses, Dan! I thought you were helping the King!
Dan: I already did. Just let me save my girlfriend!
Ninja Rebel #8: After stabbing us in the back by taking down King Resistance? We should kill you right now!
Suddenly out of nowhere, the intercom's speaker began to sound on the wall near the ceiling.
King: Attention all surviving guards, this is your King speaking. We may be dealing with the Resistance right now but just to let you know, it was never my idea to capture villagers and force them into powering the castle...it was my Advisor. So whoever is protecting him, stop and start evacuating, please. Because if you don't, the ninja rebels will probably kill you. Or even worse...YOU'RE FIRED!!!
Dan: *pulls out a communication radio* Uh...you couldn't just tell them to try not to die?
King: I don't know, Dan...I'm just saying. Besides, my Advisor will be the one getting fired first.
James rolled his eyes and snatched the radio out of Dan's hand.
James: Listen here! We ninja rebels never show mercy to anyone but for once, we'll let you escape. But the next time we decide to raid the castle, you won't be lucky.
King: Oh uh...thanks and...good luck with that?
James: Whatever. And turn off the intercom already.
Then, he threw the radio on the ground.
James: *to Ninja Rebel #8* do not waste your time, rebel. Get the villagers out of here.
As the ninja rebel was leading the villagers out of the room, a few of them were trying to ask "what are the ninja rebels gonna do with Dan and Josie," but they didn't answer.
James: Alright, now we're gonna go get the Advisor. And Dan...you are not gonna mess this up again. You can save the girl you love, but if you try interfering with our mission a second time...I will not hesitate to gun both of you down.
Dan: ...*blinks*
Josie's POV
I don't freaking know what is wrong with me. For some reason every time I see Dan, I start to run away. I should just already get the point that Dan is alive again and he wants to help me!
Why should I be afraid of him?!
I frantically went up an elevator leading to the roof of the castle.
This was where the King invited me and Dan to a party to show his gratitude for stopping the mother dragon from attacking.
But now it's gone into chaos. There were three dead bodies floating in the pool and more ninja rebels shooting at the King's guards.
As I was trying to run forward, I was pushed into the side of the bar counter by a ninja rebel with a brown ponytail sticking out of the back of the mask.
Female Ninja Rebel: You could've gotten yourself killed! What are you even doing up here unarmed?
Me: Uh...I don't know...also what's going on here? Did they not hear the speaker?
Female Ninja Rebel: Actually, they are now under his Advisors command. He told them if they still protect him, he'll double their paychecks. One of them already tried to refuse but he was shot down.
Me: Those idiots...
Female Ninja Rebel: I know, but we'll get the Advisor once we mow down the guards. Take this...*gives me a handgun* you know how to use these things right?
Me: R...right.
Female Ninja Rebel: Good. Because you're gonna need to start shooting. If you want to get out of here.
With that being said, I stood up, pointed the gun towards the guards, and fired.
My first shot didn't do good since it hit a guard's helmet that was protecting him, but my second shot went straight through the glass part of another guard's helmet and in between his eyes.
Then, I ducked back down behind the bar counter just so I wouldn't get shot back. But then I also noticed the female ninja rebel wasn't there...
She must've gone forward to keep fighting the guards while I wasn't looking...
At least that didn't bother me, because I kept on shooting.
Dan's POV
James and I made our agreement that I would not interfere with their mission to kill the Advisor while I try to save Josie. But deep down, I still don't trust him since I have a feeling he and the Resistance will betray me again afterward. I might not even get another chance to save Josie or be brought back to the village to choose war or peace. It would all be Game Over.
As I took the elevator to the roof of the castle, a thunderstorm started. Raindrops were falling all over the place, soaking the floors, and making puddles of water.
Once the elevator reached the roof, I looked ahead and saw more ninja rebels fighting with the guards once again. Some ninja rebels were getting shot down one by one...
So then, I charged over the dead bodies in the pool and towards the fight. I let out a scream of rage as I knocked down a guard, gave an uppercut to another guard, and tossed one last guard at three guards (a brute with a shield and two troopers my size with guns) knocking them off the balcony side of the roof and all the way down.
Just after taking down those guards, I heard a scream from above the bar's roof...Josie's scream.
I rushed up the stairs to find the Advisor holding Josie at gunpoint in his arm while standing next to a black and yellow helicopter.
Advisor: HOLD IT!!!
I stopped.
Advisor: Now see here, Dan the Man! I may not be the king of this...kingdom but his rules don't matter to me! You and that ninja resistance have spoiled my plans for the last time! Now you will let me leave this place, or I'm blowing your girlfriend's brains up!
Note: It's exactly like this image again, but the ninja star is meant to be golden.
Josie's POV
With the Advisor's tight grip around me, I was in fear. Dan was standing in front of us holding a golden ninja star struggling to throw it even though he knew the Advisor would kill me.
This might be the moment I'm gonna die...I'll end up just like those ninja rebels me and Dan killed together. And my body will be eaten by that wild dog on the grass...
But...no...
I cannot die now! I saved Dan a few times before, and fought my way out of that prison!
I will not be afraid of dying anymore!
After punching the Advisor in the face with my other arm, I was free from his grasp. And then I began to restrain him by grabbing him by the arm and twisting it.
He was screaming in pain as I was getting close to breaking his arm.
Dan positioned and got ready to throw the ninja star at the Advisor, but instead, he swiftly turned around and pointed the ninja star at a ninja rebel, holding his AK rifle.
James: Woah! What are you doing?!
Dan: *glares at him* James...whatever you're gonna do with that thing, don't do it.
James: And what is that? Try to shoot the Advisor? Are you protecting him too? We made a deal!
I was confused at first about what Dan was talking about, but then it hit me.
Me: Hey you won't just shoot the Advisor! You'll shoot all three of us!
Advisor: Excellent point...
Me: Shut Up! *twists his arm a bit more*
James: Oh yeah...but even though King Resistance might already want you two dead, that's not what I was about to do! Now put the shuriken down!
Dan: How do I know you're not gonna pull the trigger on us when I put down the shuriken?
James: That would be something King Resistance might do as his order! I'm nothing like him! You are supposed to let the Resistance finish the job!
Dan: That should be fine by us...but wouldn't me killing the Advisor help you out?
James: Maybe...but you're not part of the Resistance! Unless...you can be. You know, the villagers back home wanted to have peace. But since you decided to help us raid this castle, they might see you and Josie as their enemies. I don't believe they'll call you their friends or heroes anymore. And hey, we do need some new recruits for the Resistance...why don't you kill the Advisor, and then later we can negotiate with King Resistance to make you two ninja rebels?
James sounded right about the village...but earlier, Dan and I were just trying to take down the Advisor so we can both get out of here. We cannot join the Resistance! My friends from the village will never trust me again and I will have to leave the Inn behind. Won't all that affect my unborn baby as well?
Advisor: You two are so foolish! I may be losing this war, but soon you're gonna regret killing me once you return to that village of idiotic pov-
Furiously, I kicked him on the back of his knee really hard, making him kneel on the concrete helipad.
Me: I thought I told you to shut up! *looks at James* And you, even after helping Ted and the villagers escape, we're not gonna side with you. I wouldn't insult that girl from the last raid either but you guys just kill people in cold blood! We would never do something like that!
James: Just as I thought...even though you already killed some of our fellow ninja rebels before, you guys have a soft spot for whoever begs for mercy. And what about the Advisor? *points at him* If you spare him, he'll do more evil things. He doesn't deserve to live. So I demand you surrender him to me right now.
Dan looked at me with concern and back at James.
Dan: Maybe I will...but do you really enjoy killing people?
James: If those people are innocent, no. But if they're heartless like the Advisor, I just do so because it's our right. What are your options?
Dan looked like he was struggling to make his decision but a few seconds later, he let the shuriken fall to the floor. And then he looked back at me again.
Dan: Josie, I know he should be put on trial but...we should give the Advisor to James.
Advisor: AARGH!!! I swear to god you're gonna regret th-
Just before the Advisor could finish his sentence, I held him up above me and threw him over Dan and he landed face first in front of the ninja rebel's feet.
Dan already had to duck down.
The Advisor looked up at James with a bloody nose and broken glasses.
Me: You got him. Now let us go.
James: You made the right choice. And sure you can leave...just take the helicopter behind you.
Advisor: That's my helicopter! Besides, you can't fly it. The pilot is still-
Dan: Josie! Let's get the hell out of here!
I turned around and noticed that Dan was somehow already in the helicopter with the pilot held at gunpoint.
Me: Oh umm...okay.
