Kiss My Lips

15:21, 7 September 2018

Morning came and, shockingly, both the blue and red paladins had colds because of their time spent out in the rain.

"This is your fault."

"Me? How is it my fault that we got struck with colds Red?" Lance exclaimed indignantly.

"Because you insisted on us dancing in the rain for hours last night!" Keith sniffed, his nose clogged up.

"That's not the only dancing that we did~" Lance wiggled his eyebrows. Keith punched him in the arm. Although their argument sobered them up a little they were still intoxicated to some extent. When they got back to their room the night before somehow the topic of the dancing came back up and Lance commented on how bad Keith seemed to dance. Keith obviously fought back but it ended up with Lance teaching Keith how to do the Salsa.

Yes, actual dancing. Get your head out of the gutters.

"Well that's probably also why we're sick now. You insisted on teaching me to do that and we stayed up for hours doing so," Keith muttered, hugging a blanket over his shoulders. Despite them both being sick he was curled up against Lance, being too stubborn to think past reason and move away from his boyfriend.

"Keith? Lance? Are you guys good in there?" Shiro called through the door. The rest of the team have already woken up and were getting ready to leave the planet and Shiro was doing his morning checks. When it started pouring last night the party came to a screeching halt and the team met up under a tree. They waited up for Lance and Keith but decided to go on ahead to their rooms and if they didn't find them in the morning then they would go out looking for them.

"Hey Shiro," Keith wheezed when he opened the door. His face was paler than usual and had a sickly green tint to it, his eyes were droopy, and he hadn't changed out of the outfit from the night before which was dripping with rain water.

"You're sick." Shiro stated, an 'are you fucking kidding me? You're eighteen' look on his face.

"Yes. Lance is sick too. We shared a room."

"I know that Keith."

"Okay."

Silence.

God aren't siblings just amazing?

"Get changed into your armor, Lance you too!" Shiro called. "Then we'll all go to the castle together and you two can get the necessary treatment. After you're better you can explain...this," he said, pinching the bridge of his nose before walking off.

Poor Shiro.

Keith closed the door before walking back and falling onto Lance with an 'oomph'.

"We need to get changed," Lance grunted.

"We need to talk about what you did," Keith retorted, not moving.

Lance sighed, "we can do that when I don't feel like the Great Wall of China has just been stuffed up my nose. And when you don't look like you're turning into a plant with all of that green."

Keith smacked Lance lightly before climbing off of the taller male and walking over to his armor which he had left on the floor closer to the other bed (which he didn't even use). "Aw thanks hon," he said sarcastically. "By the way, fuck you."

"One of these days," Lance smirked which earned a pillow being thrown harshly at his face. When he turned to look at Keith, his smirk grew into a shiteating grin when he saw the shade of crimson that the Korean's face turned at his comment. With that he walked into the bathroom where he had left his armor and changed into it, trying to get his ill-induced mind to focus on a single thought.

Wait...

Keith was still toying with his chestplate when Lance practically kicked down the door that and tackled him to the floor.

"Lance! What the hell?" Keith gasped.

"Hon! You-you called me hon and I just got really excited." Lance said sheepishly, his head laying on the Korean's chest. "It's just that I give you pet names and I never heard calling me one."

"Oh...you could've just asked me to give you one," Keith blushed, he didn't think Lance would like it so much.

"Yeah, I'm being silly."

"You're not being silly. But you are making us late," Keith said, prodding Lance so that he would get off.

"You're one to talk captain cuddles," Lance replied. Keith simply hummed in response, Lance could feel it through is cheek from the smaller male's chest.

"C'mon hon, we got to go," Keith shoved Lance off of him. Lance blushed but got up and held his hand out to Keith. Once they were both up, and down from whatever that awkward moment was, they went out to meet up with the rest of the team.

After a long bid farewell to the people of whatever planet they were on, team Voltron trudged back into the regular, boring, daily routine that was present on the castle.

"On the road again~" Pidge sang sarcastically as they took off. She groaned as everyone watched the planet grow smaller behind them as they moved away.

"No groaning Pidge, this is still war," Shiro scolded.

Pidge groaned louder.

"Well now that we're up here, we still have a problem to address," Shiro said, ignoring Pidge. "Lance and Keith are sick for god knows what reason and they need to get better. We can't go into battle when they're not in prime condition."

"Right, well I'll check on the healing pods again, they should be at least close to being fixed," Coran offered, starting to walk out. "In the meantime I would say just have them take hot showers, food, and rest."

"Mm, yeah okay," Keith replied, walking off to his own room with Lance trailing just behind him.

"Hey Keith," Lance hesitated once they were out of earshot.

"What's up?"

"Well I just wanted to say that I'll make it up to you. I'll make it up for breaking your heart, again, no matter what it takes. And I'll never do it again, I swear," Lance said, his voice cracking slightly but his tone staying serious through it.

"What you said did hurt Lance and I still don't fully forgive you. But you don't have to go out of your way to make it up to me, it's going to take a while but things will be better, I hope. Just, don't do anything stupid anymore," Keith teased.

Lance smiled at him, but he couldn't help but to notice the shine of hurt, or was it confusion, in Keith's stormy eyes. The red paladin wasn't lying when he said that he was still hurt, he was hurt because of Lance, and that killed the blue paladin on the inside.

"I'm still going to make it up to you," Lance stated as they continued to walk side by side.

"Whatever, as long as you don't risk your life for me again," Keith half joked.

"I make no promises-" Keith slammed Lance into the wall when he said that. "Ow! What the hell Keith?"

"Don't. Just, don't. I never want you to risk your life for me ever again, because I wouldn't know what to do with myself!"

Lance furrowed his eyebrows together. "Keith I literally broke your heart less than twelve hours ago."

"That doesn't mean that I don't care about your dumb ass. And besides, you're like a drug and I'm the addict. I couldn't stop having you in my system if I tried."

"Try hard enough and you can."

"But I won't."

"What makes you so sure?"

Keith answered by crashing his lips into Lance's, not caring that both of them were sick. Not caring who saw them or what they would've said. But luckily no one bothered them. There was the heat, the starving for the taste and the hunger for the smell. There was them, focusing on only one another. It seemed as if every time they kissed it was their first, everything was still so new to them, and the moments like these felt like they could never get old. Like neither boy could ever could get used to the time stopping and world colliding sensation of pressing their lips to each other.

Keith pulled away, his eyes still fluttering, but not nearly as much as his heart, and a dusty pink blush settled across his cheeks. He stood back and looked the Cuban right in the eye, "I won't."

Lance just nodded, fearing that his voice wouldn't work.

"Good. Now get cleaned up, I'm not kissing you again when there's snot dripping down your nose."

"H-hey! You-you...I'll get you back Kogane! And for the record you're the one with snot down his nose!" Lance called when Keith started to walk away from him.

"Sure thing hon," Keith said sarcastically.

"I'll get you back mi amor!" * * *After a good wash and cooked food with warm drinks that Hunk happily provided, they were both relaxing in their pajamas in their own rooms, trying but failing to get some actual rest that the team was forcing onto them.

"Screw this, if I'm going to rest and be sick then I want to rest and be sick with my boyfriend," Lance mumbled to himself as he climbed out of his bed, grabbed his blanket and a pillow, and stalked his way down to Keith's room.

Keith jumped when he heard a knock on his door. Everyone had been leaving him alone to 'rest' and the sudden noise startled him more than he would admit.

"Who is it?"

"Uh-um it's me La-Lance. I couldn't really sleep so I came here...this was dumb I'm sorry."

"No! No, it's fine, you can come in!" Keith called, sitting up from his bed as Lance opened the door and sheepishly walked in.

God he looks too adorable like that, Keith thought as Lance went over to Keith. He was hugging his pillow close to his chest, had a cute sleepy expression on his face, and his blanket was over his head like that first night. Their night.

"Uh sorry, I just couldn't rest and I thought that I would be able to relax better if I was with you."

"Uh yeah, I couldn't really...I couldn't relax either." Keith replied, he was at a loss for words for some reason. So instead of saying anything else he just scooted over on his bed and patted the now open space next to him, indicating for Lance to lay there. So he did, tip toed over and gently laid down on the bed.

"Why does this time feel weird?"

"Weird?"

"Well...awkward."

"I don't know, why?"

"Maybe because we're still not okay and that makes me feel bad. And we also are sick," Lance whispered.

Keith snorted, covering his mouth with his hand soon after. "Well then how should we make this okay?"

"I don't know," Lance replied. They were facing each other, faces and bodies close but not really getting closer or farther apart.

"I don't know either. I'm not sure how to fully forgive you for that Lance, no matter how many times I say it, you did really hurt me. A lot more than I can explain and more than you can understand," Keith said.

"I'll fix this somehow, I promise. I'm so sorry"

"I know that you're sorry, but what if I don't want you to fix this Lance? For me at least, I just wanna forget everything that happened, just let it escape my mind instead of always addressing it and watching you tear yourself apart trying to mend it."

"But won't pushing away the problem make it worse? I don't want to make things worse."

"No Lance, right now we're slightly dented but we still work. We're not broken and we're not even that bent. This is just a small dent, so let's forget about it. Please, I can't keep thinking about it. About that other guy and the party and the rain and the...and everything. Let's just forget it," Keith grimaced, closing his eyes.

Lance's gaze softened and he reached out, trailing his finger along Keith's face. "I said anything for mi amor. If you want us to forget, then we'll forget." Keith just nodded into Lance's hand as he looked up again. His stormy violet eyes seemed clearer than before, as if an unknown fog had disappeared from them. "Are you sure that's all you want from me mi amor?" Lance asked, moving his hand to stroke Keith's soft hair.

"Just...just kiss me. Kiss my lips," Keith pleaded, moving his own arm to snake around Lance's waist.

So Lance did what his lover asked of him. They kissed, they craved, and they relaxed into each other, each feeling warm, safe, and happy in the other's arms.

They were content and happy to just be beside one another.
