KIHYUN POV

I slammed open the doors.

I looked around in the Kronos's room.

No one's here as well..

I heard footsteps heading towards this room.

This presence..

I raised my claws at the person's neck.

"Lower your claws. It's just me" Wonho said

"Wonho... Have you found Jaeryeong anywhere?" I asked

"She's nowhere to be found. Most likely they left the palace" Wonho said

"Tch. Where else can they hide?" I said

No wait.

There's one place..

Where Mother lies..

JAERYEONG POV

I yawned..

Kronos hasn't come back from outside yet..

I saw Kronos coming in the room.

"Oh Kronos, how's outsid--" I asked

"We need to get out of here" Kronos said

"Eh? Why?" I asked

"Come" Kronos said grabbing my hand

<BOOM>

I flinched..

An explosion coming from inside the room?

I notice smoke coming out of one part of the walls..

"What the?" I said

"Crap. He discovered us" Kronos said

"Who--" I asked

"We need to move" Kronos said

"Teleport"

We teleported in front of the castle..

My eyes widened as I looked at the disaster in front of me..

The castle is torn to shreds and there were bodies of soldiers piled up on the stairs...

I held my nose as the filfthy stench of corpses spreaded aroumd

"Who did this?" I asked

"Him, who else?" Kronos said

"Just who are you referring to?" I asked

"Follow me" Kronos said

We walked around the bodies and entered the castle..

"Where are we going?" I asked

"I've been waiting for you guys"

I turned my attention to a boy standing in the dark.

He slowly walked out into the light.

"W-Wonho? What are you doing here?" I asked

"Huh? Oh, I was searching for someone" Wonho said

"Really? We'll help you search--" I said

"There's no need. After all... He found the person already" Kronos said

Wonho smiled.

"Forgive me Jaeryeong. My master's orders are absolute" Wonho said

"W-Wonho?" I said

I saw fangs forming out of Wonho's lips

"Move!" Kronos shouted as he pushed me

I fell backwards, falling onto the floor.

Before I knew it, Wonho was in front of Kronos.

He's fast..

Wonho kicked Kronos to the side, sending him flying.

Kronos flipped around and landed on his feet smoothly.

Wonho ran to Kronos and grabbed out a dagger, throwing it at Kronos.

Kronos chanted a spell which deflected the dagger.

Kronos teleported to Wonwo and kicked his stomach.

Wonho slid down to the ground.

"Wonho!!" I called

Wonho slowly got up.

"Haha... Checkmate" Wonho said

"Huh?" I said

Oh? There are other mini daggers pinning down Kronos's feet to the floor.

"Tch. This is why I find you Half-Breeds annoying" Kronos growled

"Because we're stronger than average demons?" Wonho smirked

"Precisely" Kronos said

"Jaeryeong, get out of the castle and wait for me there. I need to escort you--" Wonho said

"She can't move from her spot" Kronos said

What?

I tried standing up but my legs wouldn't move.

"I bounded your legs with a spell. They won't get up" Kronos said

"Hey!" I said

"Kronos, there's no point of keeping her as a hostage for Krylne. He's coming for her as we talk" Wonho said

Krylne?

"W-Wait! Is Kihyun here?" I asked

Wonho smiled at me.

"Look, Jaeryeong may not be a useful hostage but she might be a great wife" Kronos smirked

I frozed...

"WHAT?!" Wonho and I said in unison

Kronos looked at me.

"Well I never actually got to spend more time with you so why not? My father wouldn't even care if I were to marry a human" Kronos said

"Hey! Do you even know who she is?!" Wonho exclaimed

"Of course I do. Her name is Jaeryeong and she's a human. Why? Do I need a human name?" Kronos said

"Maybe. Wait no! I wasn't talking about that..." Wonho said

Wonho glanced at me then looked back at Kronos.

"There's something that you both don't know" Wonho said

Something we don't know?

"Kronos, do you know what's her last name?" Wonho asked

"...No. Why?" Kronos asked

My last name?

Wait! DON'T TELL ME..

He's gonna tell Kronos?!

"Her name is Kwon Jaeryeong. She's the daughter of the famous Kwon Hunters" Wonho said

Kronos's eyes widened.

"What... did you just say? You're telling me... she's their flesh and blood?" Kronos asked

"Correct" Wonho said

Kronos stared at me..

I thought he would hate me.. but I saw no hatred in his eyes..

"If she's related to the exorcists that killed my mother then why does Krylne stay by her side? If he knew that she's their daughter then he would have killed her as well! After all, he loves Mother just as much as me!" Kronos shouted

"That's because Mother wasn't killed by them"

I flinched..

That voice..

I turned my head.

My eyes widened..

"Jaeryeong, there you are. I've been looking for you"

Tears started to well up.

"Kihyun!" I smiled

"Hah.. You actually showed up" Kronos said

"Master, I found Jaeryeong" Wonho said

"I can see that" Kihyun said as he walked to me

He lent out his hand.

"Are you okay? Can you stand?" Kihyun asked

"I-I can't. My legs are restricted by a spell" I said

"I see.." Kihyun said

He tapped my knee.

It suddenly felt free..

"Oh? I'm fine" I said

I stood up and patted dust off my pants.

"Jaeryeong, were you scared?" Kihyun asked

"U-Um.. not really. I'm fine--" I said until Kihyun pulled me into his embrace

"I'm sorry for being late. I promise you won't be kidnapped like that again" Kihyun said

I gripped onto his shirt.

"Kihyun.. I missed you" I said

"Hey Krylne. Explain. What do you mean Mother wasn't killed by the Hunters? She had a sword stabbed in her back and that sword belongs to an exorcist. If she wasn't killed by them then who was she killed by?" Kronos asked

Kihyun pulled me away from his embrace.

"Kihyun, what really happened at that time?" I asked

"Mother died because she protected me" Kihyun said

"What?" Kronos asked

"No.. it's not because she died protecting me but it's because she protected me, she died" Kihyun added

"How?" I asked

"I'm sure you guys know that I have Satan's genes right?" Kihyun asked

I nodded.

"Well.. there's a side effect. If someone possesses the blood of Satan, they develop two sides. There's the normal side and the Satanic side" Kihyun said

"Your Satanic side? Isn't it the same as your Demonic side?" I asked

"You're mistakened. Krylne fears his Satanic side because when he activates it, he becomes an entirely different person. A true demon" Wonho said

"The other reason... that I couldn't tell you Kronos.. was that Mother wasn't the one that was targeted by the exorcists. It was me" Kihyun said

"What? You were their target?" Kronos asked

Kihyun was Omma's and Appa's target?

That means.. they were suppose to kill..

Kihyun..

...I feel like a horrible person right now..

Is it bad that I'm glad that the Mother died and not Kihyun?

Kihyun is a special existence to me..

I realise now that these feelings I harbour for him is Love
