AVERY POV

I was drinking my tea until suddenly, the door slammed opened.

I saw Delancey at the door who looks worn out.

"Delancey, what's wro--" I asked

"Lady Avery, please help! Jaeryeong got taken away" Delancey pleaded

My eyes widened.

"What? By who?" I asked

"Sir Kronos. He found her and took her" Delancey said

Tch... Kronos..

"What should I do... If Jaeryeong gets killed... What do I do..." Delancey panicked as she slipped down on the floor

I walked up to Delancey and patted her shoulder.

"Don't worry. I'll get Jaeryeong back" I said

Since she matters to you..

"Please save her" Delancey begged

"Stay here" I said as I left my room

I whistled and called my pet, Skeltagon (Skeleton Dragon).

He landed right in front of the entrance of my castle.

"Princess, where are you going??" A maid asked

"The King's castle" I said as I got on Skeltagon

"Have a safe trip, Princess Avery" The maid bowed

"Skeltagon, eltsac s'gniK eht ot daeH" I said in Dragonese

"What business do you have with me, Avery Ymenos?"

"I would like to speak with the 1st Prince, Your Highness" I said as I bowed

"For what reason do you seek him for?"

"He has taken one of my possessions away from me. I would like to retrieve it" I said

"Thank You" I said then left the throne room

I took a breathe and sighed...

It's still scary no matter how many times you visit him...

The doors opened.

"The 1st Prince is busy handling his problems at the moment. If you wish to speak with him, meet with him personally"

"Yes, Your Highness. Thank You. Until next time, we meet again" I bowed then walked away

I heard the doors closing from behind me

Kronos is busy? What lies..

....Wait. Why should I even save her?

She's going to die in 3 days time anyways..

"Aish..." I said then suddenly had an idea

I smiled.

JAERYEONG POV

"....Kronos, do you.. know who--" I said

"Shh. Be quiet" Kronos said as he turned his head towards the door

"Stay here. Don't you dare escape" Kronos said as he rushes out of the room

The door closes..

I wonder what's wrong..

I laid on the bed then stared at the frame of his mother..

FLASHBACK

"If only if Krylne stayed put, Mother would be...." Kronos said

"Those stupid exorcists... I'll never forgive them.... Never" Kronos growled

I wonder... what Kihyun did.

"Do you know.. the identities of the exorcists that killed your mother?" I said

I have this uneasy, cloudy feeling in my heart..

I shot up from the bed and saw smoke coming out from the castle..

"What the hell's happening?" I said

The door opened and I saw Kronos..

"Avery's here. We're going" Kronos said

"Going? Where are we go--" I asked then Kronos suddenly carried me in his arms

"Teleport"

In a flash, we were in the forest..

I stood and looked around..

I turned back and saw the castle...

We're still near the castle??

"Tch.. I didn't teleport us far away enough.. Come on" Kronos said as he pulled me by my arm

Didn't teleport us far away enough? What does he mean?

I noticed something dripping down the back of his neck..

My eyes widened..

"Yah! You're bleeding!" I said

"Leave it. It'll heal" Kronos said

"How did you get that injury?" I asked

"Let's just say I bumped into Avery and went easy on her" Kronos said then abruptedly stopped in his tracks

I bumped into his back.

"We're here" Kronos said

I looked what's in front of him..

"It's just a plain old tree" I said

"Is it?" Kronos smirked

Kronos walked into the tree and disappeared.

I gasped.

I slowly approached the tree.

"Umm... Hello?" I called

I saw a hand popping out of the tree grabbing my hand.

In an instant, I was pulled into the tree.

As I got pulled in, I shut my eyes, feeling the wind brushing against my cheeks

I opened my eyes and saw an underground passage?

"What's this place?" I asked

".........You'll find out" Kronos said

We continued walking down the passage.

I noticed a blue light ahead...

What's that???

I stopped in my tracks..

I stared at the thing in front of me dumbfounded..

It was a glass tube in the middle of the room..

Inside the glass tube, a mysterious, beautiful lady floated in the midst of it.

".......Is that..." I said

"Yes it is. This is my mother" Kronos said

His mother...

He's preserving her body in that liquid..

I walked up to the tube and touched it..

She surprisingly.. resembles Kihyun alot.

It's like he doesn't have any DNA of his father..

"We're going to be staying here until Avery calms down. She's probably rampaging around the castle trying to find you" Kronos said

"N-No.. She'll never do that. Especially for someone like me" I said

"Of course she wouldn't. She's doing it for that stupid maid isn't it?" Kronos said

Stupid Maid? How dare he..

He names everyone else as Hybrids and Humans but Delancey as stupid maid??

Why is that....

Oh right.

I walked towards him.

"W-What?" Kronos asked

"Turn around" I said

"Huh--H-Hey!" Kronos said as I touched his head

I looked at his wound.

A large cut around his neck.

Luckily, it's not too deep...

But still, his wound is healing pretty slowly for demon...

"I thought you said it'll heal" I said

"Tch.. None of your business" Kronos said pushing me away

The wound looks strange..

It's not closing at all..

Wait a minute..

"Did you possibly.. got poisoned or something?" I asked

"Wow. You got good eyes" Kronos said

"Are you an idiot?! This is terrible!" I said

"I don't care. It won't kill me" Kronos said

"But it's painful isn't it?" I asked

"I don't care" Kronos said

"But your mother does" I said

Kronos looked at me with annoyance..

"Sorry... I know I shouldn't have mentioned her but it's true isn't it? Plus I'm worried for you" I said

Kronos stayed quiet..

I sighed..

"I'll be fine.. so you don't need to worry" Kronos said

Kronos sat down and pondered..

...Kronos is very.. unpredictable..

It's hard know to what he's thinking..

Oh yeah.. Should I ask him..

"Hey Kronos" I said

Kronos turned his attention to me..

"Do you know.. the identities of the exorcists that killed your mother?" I asked

Kronos showed a hint of anger in his expression..

"Y-You don't have to answer it if you feel uncomfo--" I said

"Of course I do.. The exorcists that killed her were Legendary Hunters.. however, my mother wasn't that weak to be killed by two mere humans.." Kronos said, clenching his fists

Two exorcists killed his mother??

"It's all Krylne's fault... Because of him, my mother was killed so easily" Kronos growled

......Why do I have this feeling..

This uneasy, deja vu feeling..

I felt this ever since I met Kronos..

"Who are the Legendary Hunters?" I asked

"Who are they? Hah. The two hunters are a couple. They're known as the Kwon Hunters. When they killed my mother, they got captured right after. The male was executed and the female? *chuckles* She was turned into our species and soon married a demon who's Avery's father" Kronos said

My eyes widened..

No... Don't tell me...

"And guess who's her lovely little child with that demon is?" Kronos said as he walked up to me

"Delancey, that stupid maid" Kronos said

No way....

The people that killed his mother..

The exorcists that killed Kihyun's mother....

Are My Parents...
