Attack on Titan: Spoiling Armin
21:13, 18 December 2018
It was another day inside the Walls of Wall Rose. Another Expedition has gone by, and she, Armin, Eren, and Mikasa have all managed to survive. Death has yet to torn the four apart. And Kiyomi hopes that it will always stay that way. She doesn't want to die yet, because there's still so much she wants to do. It was human nature to feel that way. But aside from that, she doesn't want Armin, Eren, or Mikasa to die yet either.
She loves the three and it would destroy her if any of the three just died a sudden death. Kiyomi doesn't worry very much about Mikasa since she's super talented and strong. The only occasions she would have to start worrying about Mikasa would be whenever Eren's life is put into danger.
In battle, Mikasa always remains cool-headed and calm. But whenever Eren's life was at stake, she usually loses it. It's only during moments like those Kiyomi would have to really be concerned about Mikasa's safety.
More than she is ever worried about Mikasa, she is mostly worried about the two boys Eren and Armin. She worries about Eren because he is stubborn and easily gets blinded by rage. Often he can act crazy or stupid in those situations. If you try to call out to him, he won't hear you. That's something that scares Kiyomi, Mikasa, and Armin. If Eren stays this way he risk not only loosing his own life but causing others to be on the verge of their own death.
But Kiyomi tries not to worry about Eren too much, because most of the time Eren always has Mikasa right besides him to watch over his back. But still, when Mikasa isn't around Eren to protect, Kiyomi can't help but to worry for the angry yeager.
And aside from Mikasa and Eren, the one she worries about most, even though she probably shouldn't, is Armin Arlert. Armin isn't as physically strong as the rest of the group. Mikasa's strength and skills are flawless. As for Eren, he has the ability to shapeshift into a Titan at will. So yeah, they both are pretty bad ass strong. But as for Armin, he was physically weak.
But Kiyomi didn't mind this at all. Because she herself, often doesn't feel very strong in the physical field either. Honestly she could care less if Armin even had any brawn. I mean, if he ever did, that would be great for him and others. But who needs brawn when you have brains? The best survival tool is after all the brains. Your useless without one.
But aside from physical strength, the reason Kiyomi worries constantly about Armin when in battle inside or outside the Walls, she worries because she loves him. Kiyomi cares about Armin very much. The two are inseparable. If Armin were to die, it would be like her entire world being crushed with a single snap of a finger. She would become greatly depressed and would lose her way for a very long time, if not forever.
But she doesn't want to show her worry or concern to Armin, because she fears that if she does, he will become angry towards her. It's happened once, and she doesn't want to make a repeat of it again.
Armin hates being physically weak. It makes him feel like a useless burden. He's even admitted this feeling to Kiyomi once. So yes, Armin told her about his insecurities. But even if he didn't, she'd still know about his feelings towards this matter. The two are able, at least most of the time, to read each other clearly like a open book.
Armin tells Kiyomi about his uselessness, and she tried to reassure him that it wasn't true at all - that he was strong. Maybe not physically, but mentally because of his brains. She would constantly tell him how she thinks brains are better than brawn and how he's not useless and would recall the amount of times he's saved her from the fate of dying in the jaws of a Titan.
Armin would try convincing Kiyomi otherwise, that everything she was saying wasn't true about him being brave and the opposite of a useless burden. But other time, he realized that their argument was going nowhere and how he could never prove Kiyomi wrong of her statements.
The two grew closer since then, and today was the day after an expedition outside of the walls. Armin wore a cloth around his head, wounded from the Titan battles from yesterday, and Kiyomi and Armin were out together wandering around the City.
Yesterday was really rough for them both and Armin thought it to be wise for the both of them to try to enjoy themselves and relax. So they decided to go many places today and to hang out. It would help them get their minds off the events of yesterday outside where hell existed. As they are walking, they happen to come across a book booth.
An older-looking woman was standing by the booth and greeted the two as she introduced the books she had laid out. The books about Strategy, history of the Walls, and such seemed to very much interest Armin. Kiyomi was able to observe Armin well and she wanted to buy him one of these books.
She had enough money on her where she could easily buy Armin all of the books that caught his eye, but she knew if she did Armin would start panicking and would turn each of the books down. So instead, she decided to ask Armin questions as to which of the books he was most interested in, and soon later she asked the lady to buy the book.
Even though it was just one, Armin began to panic, knowing that Kiyomi was buying it not because it interested her, but because she was going to buy it for him. "I-I'm fine! R-really! You don't have to buy this for me..."
"But Armin, I want to!" Kiyomi smiled as she gave the lady some change before picking up the hard-back book and handing it over to Armin. "I know how much you enjoy reading. And you were eyeing this book for quite a bit, so I don't mind!"
"R-Really? Thank you so much! I'm in your debt!" Armin's eyes remained ten times bigger than their natural size. Kiyomi giggled happily. Of course, she enjoys buying herself merch every once in awhile, and of course she should probably be focusing on buying important equipment for outside the walls instead, but she couldn't help but to spoil the blonde. How can you not want to spoil the one you and love and hold dear?
