Attack on Titan: Armin's Merman Transforming Powers

It was another day in the universe of Attack on Titan.

Armin was walking across sand and made his way towards the Ocean.

This was his favorite place to be.

On the beach, standing towards the edge of the Ocean.

It was just like how his Grandfather's book described it….

A vast body of water that's so big, it covers the majority of the earth.

Flaming water with enough salt, it will never run out.

It was everything both Armin and Eren dreamed for it to be.

Armin would stand there watching the waves peacefully roll onto the shore.

Later on in the day Sasha ran into Armin and she was going to go fishing on boat for some fish for the scouts to munch on for dinner.

Sea food was everyone's favorite meal….

Armin asked Sasha if he could come with, and she happily welcomed him to accompany her.

Sasha and Armin got themselves on a small boat and started to head farther into the sea.

But Sasha of course was careful about not going too far out.

They would have to be careful about not heading out into the enemies territory...that wouldn't be good.

But they had plenty of territory themselves to fish near Paradis.

Eventually they were far enough out to get ready to catch some fish.

Sasha treated fishing as if it was easy as she has already caught over five fish.

Armin asked Sasha if she could teach him to fish and she was more than happy to teach him.

“Fishing is just like hunting, Armin. First you put some bait on the hook-- then you just swing this out into the sea and wait!”

Armin followed Sasha’s instructions carefully and managed to get his rods lure far out.

“Awesome job, Armin! As long as you stay patient and follow all of my instructions like so, you'll be catching fish in no time!” Sasha smiled.

As more and more time began to past, Armin would be catching fish just as well as Sasha was able to catch her own.

But eventually a storm began to roll in...and it looked like a bad one.

“Uh-oh...a storms coming! It's time to pull back our lures and head back home, Armin!”

With that being said, Sasha quickly after the two put away their fishing rods, began to turn the boat around to return to the beach.

But as the boat began to speed away, the storm began to speed faster.

The storm caused giant waves to crash down.

Some of the caught fish began to slip right out of the boat and back into the Ocean.

“AAAHH!! Our precious fish!! Our dinner!” Sasha cried as she grabbed her head in panic.

Armin put the fish into a net swiftly and then…

“Sasha is there any way we can go any faster to beat this storm?!”

“W-We can't! This is as fast as we can go against this storm! One wrong move and the boat can tip over!”

So all Sasha and Armin could do was hold on tight and fight against the storm til they got home.

But as the storm raged on, the waves would become violenter and violenter.

The waves got so Titanic and rough, the ship was knocked over and went upside down.

Sasha managed to reach the top of the boat.

She gasped and searched around.

“Armin? Armin?!!”

Time had passed. Armin awoken on a big smooth rock.

He looked around and the Ocean was all that surrounded him.

As Armin began to think back as to how and why he got here, he remembered.

He was helping Sasha with fishing to surprise everyone with at dinner. But a big storm came, and…

As Armin noticed that something felt a bit...odd, he looked down and the moment he looked down at himself he let out a big enough scream that caused the nearby seagulls that was flying high in the sky to fly off in a fright.

He no longer had legs….he had….fins?!

Armin panicked.

But perhaps it was a dream? Surely it wasn’t so? It's not like these kind of things could easily happen in real life!

But how? It feels so real…

Armin would pinch himself on the cheek hoping to wake up but it wouldn't work.

Armin yelled at himself to wake up and it wouldn't work.

He slapped himself in the face and it didn't work.

This was the real deal.

“A-Am I….Have I turned into...a Merman?”

Armin always digged into countless different kinds of books at the Library back inside the Walls.

One specific book he once read was about Myths.

One of the Myths was about people who can grow fins that resembled the kinds of fins fish had.

These people were normally born with fins in those stories, however.

The woman were called “Mermaids” and the men were called “Mermans”.

But in one part of the book there was another Myth. It had to do with Mermaids and Mermans.

It said that if any normal human truly knew how to love the Ocean just as much as Mer-kind did, that very rare and special people with such hearts could transform into one if they were in contact with Ocean water for long enough.

“I-I thought it was just a Myth though! I thought...it wasn't real!”

But apparently it was.

Armin had no idea where he was though.

Which direction at sea took him back to Paradis? And which direction lead into enemy territory, Marley?

But more importantly...where was Sasha?

Armin remembered how he and Sasha we're trying to escape the storm...and how their small ship flipped over….

Armin could recall Sasha calling out his name...that must mean she's ok. She must have got on top the ship. If that happened, surely that means she was able to flip it back up and... escape?

Armin looked over at his fins.

If he has fish fins…. doesn't that mean he could swim?

He never knew how to swim when he had legs...but perhaps he can manage it with these fins he just grew?

Armin tried but only falls deeper into the Ocean water. He grabbed on to the smooth rock and tries again.

Eventually Armin managed to get the hang of it and was able to swim!

Armin giggled happily and smiled.

He dove into the water and swam underwater.

The salty ocean water didn't bother his eyes... perhaps when your a Merman your eyes become stronger?

Armin had fun just swimming and exploring everything that was beneath the ocean waters

But he was so distracted, he didn't even realize he was swimming into enemy territory!! That's right, Armin Arlert was swimming right into Marley waters!

It wasn't until he bumped his head into the very bottom of a big massive ship, he realized. But he nearly realized too late, for a fishing net was dropped above him! But luckily for Armin, he managed to swim away fast enough.

He had to stop fooling around. He needed to go home, back to his friends, where it was safe.

Sasha was bursting out crying and sobbing in front of everyone as she tried wiping away here tears when she told everyone that Armin was dead.

She knew it without a doubt, that Armin was washed off the boat and into the sea…

Eren and Mikasa sobbed and cried harder than Sasha, for Armin was like family to the two.

Jean tried to hold back his tears, but they unwillingly rolled down his cheeks.

Everyone among the 104th was gathered in tears amount the terrible news. But Armin wasn't as dead as they all believed him to be. He was actually quite alive! Very much so.

Armin managed to swim ashore and he pulled his body out of the water and dragged himself out of the water. He sighed in relief upon reuniting with land. But then...he realized he no longer had a fin. He was naked!!

He screams out in horror, but luckily he manages to find a pair of clothes lying around nearby that happened to be about his size.

Once he got that squared away, he approaches the group of his 104th friends who were….screaming and crying?

Armin gently calls out their names and everyone's cries and screams paused and they turned their gazes towards his and they immediately tackle him into a group hug.

Sasha: We thought you were gone!

Connie: We thought you died!

Eren: I thought I'd never see you again!!

Mikasa: Thank goodness your alright!

Jean: Gee Armin, you had us worried!

And with Armin being reunited with the group, they went out for dinner together. Armin wonders if he should tell all of his friends about his new Merman transforming power.

Armin: Eeehhh….nah, I'll just tell Eren. It'll be a secret between us Bros!
