Chapter thirteen: Don't be boring

Everyone was walking on eggshells around me since the incident as if I was some fragile little girl who couldn't look after themselves. They were wrong and it rather pissed me off.

Brushing imaginary dust from my black skirt I took a quick glance in the mirror. Evan told me I should wait longer before returning to school but why should I hide ?

Running my fingers through my dark hair I went downstairs, grabbing myself an apple before I jumped into my car. Evan followed suit with wary eyes but I tried to ignore the very apparent concern written on his face.

"Are you sure you want to do this?" Evan said sternly, playing with his jacket sleeve. "It's only been a week. You're still not fully recovered"

Rolling my eyes I tilted my head back into the headrest "you're too much Evan. I'm not a little girl. I'm eighteen soon"

I grabbed myself a cigarette and eagerly lit it, puffing it as I began driving to school. Evan decided on not saying much else the entire drive; probably due to not wanting to upset my 'fragile heart'.

After what felt like an eternity we both got out the car once I parked up. Instantly secure arms wrapped around my waist which made me giggle and smirk like an idiot. "Is that Henry?"

"How ever did you know?" He whispered in my ear which made tingles run down my spine.

Evan gave us a displeased look before heading into school, clearly uncomfortable by our 'relationship'.

"How are you feeling ?" Henry asked softly with sad eyes, those same damn eyes I've seen continuously for the last week.

Furrowing my eyebrows I pulled away from Henry's grasp. "I'm fine, why does everyone keep asking me"

"We are just concerned is all. I don't even think you should be at school"

Placing a finger on his chest I looked at him smugly "instead of moping about how you cheer me up instead"

Henry raised his eyebrows "finally you want my company. I feel honoured" he teased with a wink.

Rolling my eyes I let out a light laugh "I never said I didn't want your company. You're meant to be my boyfriend after all"

Henry lightly blushed "ah- I forget"

Smiling I grabbed his hand and laced our fingers together, now walking to our first class which was history.

Katie wasn't at school today and for that I was very thankful but also curious because she never had time off- even when she would be really poorly. This piqued my interest; Katie was an awful person and I hated every inch of her but concern almost fuelled me to see that she hadn't attended.

"Finally, that class dragged" I whined in Henry's ear as the bell chimed. Henry nodded with the same dull expression "it was awful"

I grabbed my bag and books and headed into the corridor "how about we skip the rest of today?"

Henry pursed his lips together in thought "skip class, Where is Maeve? because you're not Maeve"

"What are you lovebirds talking about?" A jeering voice interrupted which was the one and only Evan Peters.

"Oh nothing- just how I want to skip the rest of the day" I said flatly "I have a free period anyway and then lastly maths. Not too exciting"

Evan smirked "I have the best idea, I'll skip too"

Flickering a look between him and Henry I nodded enthusiastically "sure thing. Maybe some drinks ?"

"Oh don't you worry" Evan said deviously "I know exactly where to get the drinks and where to go-

"What are you planning without me?" Aubrey cut in with a confused expression.

Instantly jealousy fuelled me; I didn't dislike her but damn did I want her to just fuck off.

"We are gonna skip the rest of the day. Have some drinks. Was thinking that place we went to last week?"

Aubrey widened her eyes "skip school...? Whatever for"

"Oh come on Aubrey. Don't be boring" I teased which made the auburn haired girl blush.

"N-no I'm gonna stay here" she said shyly "I don't want to get in trouble. Besides we only have a few months left until graduation"

"Great. I'm third wheeling" Evan grumbled childishly "I guess I'll catch you later then"

Aubrey frowned "Evan you can stay in school with me?"

Evan thought for a second before swallowing saliva "no- I want to skip too. But I'll see you later or something"

Sighing Aubrey rolled her eyes and walked away, clearly upset by the rejection. But I was absolutely loving it.

"Fuck me it's cold" I said with disdain "I knew I should of worn tights today-

"I mean what do you expect. It isn't even spring yet" Evan scoffed with amusement.

Evan took us to an abandoned building surrounded by some tree's. It looked like an abandoned house which was slightly eery but I decided to muster up the courage.

"You could of chosen a more freaky place" I hissed sarcastically as my eyes wondered about the interior. It was damp and cold, the walls were stripped of paint and the floorboards smelt of damp. Fun.

"Oh lighten up will you" Evan scoffed "where else can we go? Suggestions are open"

Henry popped his hand in the air "uh- my house? My mum is working abroad currently so nobody to scold us"

"Yes! That would be great and thank you so much for saying earlier" I grumbled half heartily.

Evan rolled his eyes and simply agreed as we walked back to my car. Henry was looking at me today in a way that sent goosebumps along my skin; it was rather intimate but I tried to take no notice.

"Dibs on the front seat" Evan smirked as he gave a taunting look to Henry who grumbled in response.

"Now, now boys, it's just a seat" I mocked with a smirk "don't get your panties in a twist"

The drive to Henry's home was silent and almost awkward; Henry and Evan hadn't muttered a single word together and as the seconds ticked away my stomach tightened from nerves.

"It's ah- pretty cold isn't it" I commented out of the blue as my hand went to put the heating on but I was stunned to find Evan's fingers brush my own as he also went to do the same.

Blushing profusely I pulled my hand away and scolded myself inwardly, the heating was no longer needed from my very tomato red cheeks. Me and Evan had shared more intimate moments than brushing hands together so I wasn't sure as to why the small action made me so flustered.

"We are here" Henry chirped which cut through the heavy silence which made me smile to myself. "Great, I'm in need for a drink"
