Chapter 23: Visiting Hours
19:33, 5 June 2017
A/N: Hey guys, as the last chapter wasn't that long I decided to make this one a long-ish chapter for ya. See, who says I'm not nice? Enjoy pitches!
-The hospital, reception area-
Once again the Bella's arrived at the hospital all in a gaggle of confusion, panic and stress. Questions were being thrown about everywhere, questions such as:
"Does anyone know what room she is in?" From Chloe
"Are we allowed to see her yet?" From Cynthia-Rose
"Is she awake?" From Ashley
"What is happening?" From Denise
And finally, Stacie said "Why can't we figure this out?"
Aubrey moved herself away from the chaos and towards the woman on reception, the same woman who had been there the previous night and she didn't look at all happy to see them again.
"Hello, we're here to see a Miss Beca Mitchell. Could you tell me where she is please?" Aubrey said in a light fluffy tone. The receptionist pushed her glasses up on her nose, faced her computer and rattled away on her keyboard. She then stopped, pushed her glasses up again, and muttered the room to Aubrey.
"Thank you." Aubrey said, turning her back away from the receptionist and to the Bella's. "Come on, I know where she is." Chloe gave out a slight whimper and then ran ahead to walk in line with Aubrey as the others trailed behind.
-The hospital, Beca's room-
Beca was just finishing off the last of her cereal, coco pops Chloe should have guessed, when the ginger launched herself at Beca's side. "Hey red, as much as I missed you too could you warn me before you go throwing yourself at me. I mean people are gonna talk."
The sarcastic comment made Chloe laugh, which made Aubrey smile. She hadn't seen her best friend crack a smile all morning. Chloe then took to sitting in the chair next to Beca's bed and held her hand, stroking small smooth circles around and around.
Chloe then brought something out from behind her back that made Beca squeal, and Beca Mitchell never squealed, "Red, you brought Red! Thank you!" She took the red panda off her girlfriend and set him down beside her.
"Well I couldn't leave my girlfriend all alone, now, could I?" The ginger winked at the brunette. "I grabbed him early this morning from your dorm."
Eventually Fat Amy asked the question that was on everyone's lips, "So, what did the doctor say Shawshank?"
It then took Beca the next fifteen minutes to update the girls on what Doctor Francis had said to her previously. "That's it? So, you don't know who did this? And you don't know when you're getting out? Oh, my god!" Chloe was once again freaking out.
"Chloe, chill out. Everything's fine. Hey-" Beca turned Chloe's face to look at hers, even though this caused her a great deal of pain to shoot through her ribs. "I'm here aren't I? Look at me, I'm going to be okay. I'm Beca 'Effin Mitchell. I promise." The brunette then leant forward, trying not to scream out in agony, and left a sweet full kiss on her lips. There was a slight hesitation in her next words but decided against voicing the opinion to the group. They were stressed enough as it was. "Anyways, the doctor said I could be out with the next few days. They want to keep me in overnight to make sure I'm okay but then I'm all yours." She winked to Chloe and the other girls looked away, leaving Chloe to blush slightly.
Just then Doctor Francis came back into Beca's room. "Ah, I see you're feeling happier now Beca. That's good. And you've got a little friend." He gestured to the panda which Beca was now cuddling. "I've just come to administer some medicine to you in order to help the pain. Would that be okay?"
"Dose me up Doc."
Doctor Francis laughed before pottering around Beca changing drip bags and adjusting wires on her body. "There. Okay, see you later." He then nodded to the Bella's before walking out the room.
"How come you didn't tell me your Doctor was cute, Beca?" Stacie interjected, her eyes linger on the door as he walked out and turned down the corridor.

The girls had been hanging out in Beca's room for about two hours. Every so often a nurse would pop her head around the door to see if Beca needed anything but apart from that no one else disturbed them and that suited Beca just fine.
"Oh yeah, I forgot to ask earlier. Where is my dad?" Beca asked. It wasn't often she'd ask after her dad but since moving to Barden Beca had started to form a much missed father-daughter relationship again.
"Oh, he has to teach a class but said he'd be over sometime this evening." Aubrey said without even glancing up from her phone.
"Hey Bree, who you texting? I mean I wouldn't usually ask but you've been trying to type that message for the past fifteen minutes now." Chloe asked, forcing Aubrey took look up from her phone and into the piercing blue eyes of her best friend.
"I bet it's a boy." Cynthia-Rose whispered to Stacie who was sat beside her.
"Finally, one of us is getting some action in this group. Is it a guy?" Stacie announced to the group before Ashley looked at her in shock and lightly tapped her on the shoulder forcing the group of girls to laugh.
"Ah, that's so sweet. Who is it Bree?" Jessica chimed in, smiling.
"Oh, urm... No, not a guy. Ju-Just my..." Aubrey had to say something, 'Think of someone, anyone!' She thought and then it came to her, "My dad!" She declared triumphantly. "Yeah, he was wondering when I was next free and if I wanted to meet up with him sometime soon." This wasn't an entire lie. The person on the text was wondering if they wanted to meet up soon when they were free, but it defiantly wasn't her dad.
The girls took this as it was and didn't ask any further questions but Chloe dismissed the notion with slight suspicion.
Aubrey then typed a message, sent it and locked her phone to stop the girls from asking questions. The message she sent said:
'Hey, yeah meeting up sounds great. How about tonight? Around 8-ish. I'll meet you outside the ice cream place J – Aubrey'

After spending four hours at the hospital the girls realised they had to leave. "As much as I don't wanna leave you Shawshank food is calling. We'll see you soon anyways." Amy said just as her stomach growled, like it was agreeing with her statement.
"Okay girls, thank you so much for today. It's been aca-awesome, oh gosh, that was so weird." The girls ended up in a giggling fit before hugs and kisses where exchanged with the small brunette in the hospital bed.
"Hey, Bree, can I meet you all in the car? I wanna say bye the Beca on my own." Chloe asked her oldest friend.
"Sure, come on Bella's back to the minivan. We can decide what we wanna eat from there." Aubrey told the group.
"I wanna eat space rocks." Lily said, but no one heard.
"I fancy Mexican." Denise added and Ashley nodded her head in agreement.
"Oh, I could so eat a big fat cheesecake right now." Fat Amy drooled out, hitting her stomach, making the girls burst into fits of laughter for the millionth time that day.
The girls vanished, saying goodbye to Beca as they left. Or in Fat Amy's case singing goodbye until she was halfway down the corridor. Making Beca laugh again.
"Hey, call me if you need anything okay? Even if it's to talk. I mean I'm not exactly going anywhere am I?" Beca gestured to her body in lounged in the hospital bed. "I'm missing you so much Red, but I'll be out tomorrow and then you get the joyous task of feeding me grapes and answering to my every beck and call."Chloe gave Beca a very confused look. "What? Grapes are what sick people are fed. Trust me." The girls laughed before Chloe placed a sweet lingering kiss on her lips and crushing her into a hug. "Chlo, not the ribs. Even if I am dosed up on drugs it still hurts." Chloe let out a small squeal and let go.
"Sorry Bec, I didn't mean to hurt you!" She cried.
"Don't worry, I'll just add an extended day onto your nurse duty." She winked at the ginger and they hugged again. Chloe was careful not to crush her girlfriend this time.
"I'll see you tomorrow. Now don't cause too much trouble." Chloe teased as she pulled on her jacket.
"What? Little old me cause trouble, never. Plus, I've now got lil Red to keep me I check" She nodded down to the red panda sat next to her. Beca and Chloe laughed as she watched her girlfriend leave out the door. As soon as she disappeared from Beca's view she missed her. She craved Chloe like a Fat Amy craved cheesecake. Suddenly realising how tired she was Beca shuffled down in her bed, wincing in pain but not as much as before, and snuggled up with Red the Panda.
