Chapter 4 - you wouldn't understand

MACKENZIE

After my horrible conversation with Lucky and Jack, I went elsewhere to plan my date with Bluey.I met Rusty.

" Hey dude " I said as I walked over to him.

" Oh hey " he replied not even looking at me but at his phone.

" So what exactly are you doing " I asked.

" Nothing just texting " he replied

I wanted to let Rusty know about Lucky and Jack's plan to sabotage his date but I just didn't.

" Anyway, have you planned your date with Indy " I asked

He looked at me in a way that made me realize that he was very confused.

" How did you find out about that " he asked still looking confused.

" Lucky told me " I replied

" Ugh, I knew it, Jack stole my phone right " he said

" Yeah " I said

" Anyway, I've got it all planned out, we're fifteen so, we're basically adults right?" Rusty asked.

" Umm... I don't thi- " I didn't even get to finish the sentence.

" Do you think her parents are going to let her go out at night, I mean most parents curfew is at Eight or nine. Well anyway, I'll take her to a nice restaurant and then to the movies to see Chunky chimp Four. There are absolutely no flaws in my plan." Rusty said feeling like he just accomplished something big.

" Yeah, you're plan seems kinda flawless " I said which made him look at me with a confused look.

" what do you mean by ' kinda ' " Rusty asked.

" Nothing, it's completely flawless " I said trying to hold back a laugh. I'd love to see Rusty's face when his date gets ruined.

" Whatever " Rusty said as he went back to staring at his phone.

" Well anyway I've gotta go, see ya " I said as I walked away.

BLUEY

I ran outside following Indy.

" Indy wait up " I yelled as I  ran after her.

She stopped walking and looked at me " Bluey please just leave me alone (sniffs) please " she begged.

" I...I want to make sure you're ok " I said.

" I'm fine " She replied as she walked away

" You know, Rusty will be very disapointed if you don't show up " I yelled then she stopped. I wasn't sure of what she was going to say or do.

" Bluey... for the last time... SHUT YOUR FILTHY MOUTH UP " She yelled.

I was shocked, really shocked. I never imagined she'll say something like that.

" You should stay out of my business, besides it's non of your concern if I go on a date with Rusty or not " She paused and looked at me with a smile on her face then tears rolled down her face " you wouldn't understand " she said then walked away.

I wouldn't understand what.I've never seen Indy  act like this before.

I went back to meet the girls

" What happened? " Coco asked.

" Is she mad because I took her phone? " Chloe asked.

" I have no idea, she yelled and said it's non of my concern if she goes out with Rusty or not and that I wouldn't understand " I replied

" You wouldn't understand what? " Coco asked

" I don't know but we have to find out " I replied.

" Count me out " Honey said which left all of us shocked.

" You're not going to help us find out what's wrong with Indy " Chloe said.

" But she's our friend, she needs us " Coco added.

" Guys I know she's our friend but like she said, we wouldn't understand, whatever it is that She's going through I'm pretty sure she doesn't want us to interfere so let's respect her wishes and leave her alone " Honey said as she walked out.

Should we leave her alone? I'm not sure about that. Indy is a nice and kind girl and we are her friends, she's going through something and she wouldn't tell us, it's only right that we find out ourselves.

" Bluey what do you think? " Coco asked.

" We'll... Let it go for now " I said not sure if that was the right thing to say.

BLUEY

The day went by and before I knew it, it was time to go home.

We received news that the School bus was not going to take us home, something about the driver not showing up and the engine of the bus being damaged. They told us to call our parents to come pick us up but my mum and my dad were busy.The students whose parents couldn't make it either follow someone else's parent, walk home (if their house is not far from here) or is given money to board a public bus by the principal.Most of the students chose boarding a bus.Coco didn't even call her parents, she just took the money but I don't blame her it's free money.The girls insisted on staying a bit longer to chill but I needed to get home soon so I declined their offer.

I told the girls goodbye and as I was about to go home I felt a tap on my shoulder, I turned around and saw Mackenzie.

" Hey Bluey " he said " can I walk you to the bus stop? " He asked.

" umm yeah " I said as I blushed a little.

" Great let's go " He said.As we were about leaving I heard someone yell.

" Bluey wait up " I turned around to see Jean luc. I haven't seen him for some time.

" Can I... Talk to you...in private " he said while breathing heavily

I looked at Mackenzie and he said " go, I'll wait here "

I smiled at him and walked with Jean luc to a corner where we could talk.

" What do you want Jean " I snapped at him. I knew he could tell I was angry.

" Why are you angry? " he asked

" It's nothing, what do you want to talk about? " I asked.

" Bluey you probably won't believe me but please hear me out " He said.

" I'm listening " I said.

"  I need you to stay safe " he said 

" Is that what you wanted to tell me, what a waste of time " I said as I wanted to walk away he grabbed my arm

" Something's off, I saw someone  use a knife to puncture the tyres of the bus and tamper with the engine. And I also got a strange text from someone " he paused and brought out his phone and showed me the textIt read " WATCH YOUR BACK, YOUR NOT SAFE "

I stared at his phone trying to understand what that meant. Was someone trying to hurt Jean luc, maybe an enemy from France. Or some stupid joke.

" Bluey, I want you to be careful all this was definitely planned " he said as he put his phone in his backpack.

" All what? " I asked.

" The bus driver not showing up, the  ' engine getting damaged ', it's weird "

I was shocked, I didn't know what to say. It was weird but it's probably a coincidence.

" I'm gonna go, Kenzie's waiting for me " I said

" Kenzie?, Is that what you call him " he said sounding disgusted.

" Yeah it's a nickname " I said as I walked away to meet Kenzie.

I saw Mackenzie waiting for me. I ran over to meet him.

" Sorry for keeping you waiting " I said.

" It's fine let's go " he said as he held my hand  which made me blush.

We walked together talking about random stuff. I like talking to Mackenzie. I wish this day would never end.

Sorry it took so long to update.I have no idea where I'm taking this story cuz I haven't thought this through but trust me it'll be interesting.Comment and vote, it helps I'll try to update regularly.Bye <3.
