[50] Scare

Tsunade ticks in annoyance as she heals the two, not only does she have to heal her two best shinobi, she has a runaway Genin, and a rogue Sanin and Jinchuriki.

"It is safe to assume that they are going after Naruto, yes?" Tsunade looks down at Kakashi who is now conscious and healed, whereas Kagami fell asleep and doesn't seem to be waking up.

Kakashi nods, "They hinted at the fact that they would be going for him, in which case we should be trying to find out where Jiraiya-sama has taken him."

"Not far I hope, I'm already short on men and don't need to be missing more." She steps back from Kagami and crosses her arms, glaring down at her. "You said that Kagami spoke to Itachi Uchiha?"

Kakashi stiffens and Shikamaru, who has been sitting quietly in the corner, rolls his eyes.

"She believes that he went easy on her while she was under his genjutsu. But that has nothing to do with Kagami, it's what he chose to do." The boy stands and stretches, glancing at Kagami as he does.

Tsunade turns to the boy, "Hm? You seem to know an awful lot about her don't you."

Shikamaru sighs again, he just got promoted to chunin and there is no way he's letting her take it off him, it would be too troublesome to go through the entire exam again, especially in a different village. He nods to his Hokage, hands resting behind his head.

"She trusts me, I suppose." He shrugs and sits down on the end of her bed, they had moved into the room so Kagami could keep an eye on her brother.

"And why is that, Shikamaru?" Tsunade glares down at the boy.

Kakashi waves at the boy from behind the woman, doing some odd finger-hand action to convey a message to the younger boy.

Shikamaru ignores it.

"Because I don't treat her like an Anbu."

"But she is an Anbu,"

Shikamaru shakes his head, "She isn't, she was removed by the Hokage from Root because he knew full well that Danzo was still sending mission out from under him even if it was dissolved. Then she served under the Third as an Anbu rank, not as an Anbu Black Ops."

He looks up at Kakashi, "Currently, Kagami is a Genin, or Chunin if you chose to promote her."

"I am not a Genin,"

The entire room jumps at the new voice. They turn to the bed, Kagami had her eyes just open, obviously from just waking up. She pushes herself up into a sitting position and pushes her shoulders back, cracking her back.

"Unless I'm a Genin that goes on S-Rank missions," she makes eye contact with Tsunade, "I am not going to be a Genin."

Tsunade lets out a chuckle at this, "come to my office when you are recovered, I'll see what I can do."

The Hokage then nods to both men in the room and leaves once she receives one back. She closes the door with a little more strength than needed, but no one protests. Kakashi turns to his sister.

"You could tell us when you're awake. You don't have to do everything silently." He mumbles to her.

"What? You want me to get up and say 'Kashi-nii, I have risen?'"

Kakashi raises his eyebrows at his sister, "All I'm saying is would could like groan, say 'hello,' you don't need to scare everyone."

"Well, I apologise that you aren't prepared for me to be conscious."

"Kagami,"

"Kakashi,"

"Shikamaru."

The two siblings turn to the boy, who is giving them both a bored look.

"You two argue a lot."

"Yes, we do."

"It's not arguing,"

The two turn back to each other, glaring gazes meeting. Lightning flashes between the two.

"Why did you get caught by Itachi after I took the hit for you?" Kagami's gaze hardens at her brother.

"Why did you take the hit in the first place? I would have been perfectly fine." Kakashi leans back and gazes at the ceiling, a content look on his face.

"Oh? So there is another reason to why you are bed ridden?"

"Hmh," he closes his eyes, a smile gracing his masked lips, "I was protecting my little sister."

Kagami flushes but doesn't let down, "I didn't need saving."

"Oh? So there is another reason to why you were unconscious in a S-Ranked criminal's arms?" Kakashi glances at her from the side of his eyes, almost laughing at Shikamaru's face of absolute disbelief.

"Yes, I am secretly his lover and was going to run away with him and you ruined it."

Kakashi is no longer content, and on longer is Shikamaru either.

"What?" Kakashi sits up in the bed and stares at his sister, who is now smirking.

'How could I possibly miss something so big? This is illegal.'

"Just kidding."

Kakashi falls dramatically back into bed, his soul leaving his body.

"Kagami, I don't think it's healthy to be scarring your brother like that. You might kill him next time." Shikamaru rubs the back of his head as he stares at the silver haired man who is currently dying in the bed across from him.

Kagami gives him a blank look. She reaches out and tugs on his arm lightly.

"Hm?" He turns to her, his other hand still behind his head.

Kagami pats the spot next to her on the bed, making the boy flush bright red.

"W-W-What?" He whispers at her, looking back at her still dying brother.

"Just lie down, Nara."

"Yes ma'am."

He lays down next to Kagami and tries to get comfortable in the small amount of space he has. Kagami just rolls over and places an arm around his waist and her head on his shoulder. He stiffens.

Kagami notices but doesn't react, because her own face is currently bright red and she is slightly struggling to breathe. But in true Nara culture, she decides to try and go to sleep.

'You are doing great, Kagami-chan.'

'Hashirama-sama I don't believe this is what people do.'

'No Kagami-chan, this is exactly how lovers act.'

Kagami completely stops breathing at this, her face gets even hotter, if possible and her heart rate speeds up.

'Hashirama you broke the girl.'

'Huh? I thought I was doing good?!'

'Hashirama, she is obviously frigid.'

'Tobirama that is not a very nice thing to say.'

'Damn Uchiha,'

'I don't see what the Uchiha have to do with this conversat-'

Kagami cuts them off and lays in silence. She nestles her face into Shikamaru's neck before nodding off successfully. Shikamaru listens to her breathing even out and becomes calm, almost silent. He sighs and closes his eyes, wrapping an arm around her and planning to slip off to the dream world himself.

"Shikamaru,"

He jolts up, his eyes flashing open. He looks up to see Kakashi standing over him.

"You may have replaced me and become Kagami's most trusted," The silver-haired man brings his hand up, the Chidori burning brightly, "But if you upset her, I will gladly become a rogue nin."

The boy gulps and nods quickly, careful not to wake up the spoken girl. Kakashi's Chidori dissipates and he gives Shikamaru a closed-eye smile, he pats the boy's head lightly.

"Good, sleep well." Kakashi turns back around and engulfs himself in his blankets, knocking himself out cold as his head hits the pillow.

Shikamaru gulps nervously, glancing around the room, eyeing the door carefully before relaxing again.

'I swear if Dad comes through that door . . . .'

Kagami shuffles her way up to the Hokage's office. She hadn't been in a while and had forgotten the endless stairs it took to get there. Kagami has also come to the realisation that she still be of Anbu standard when it comes to fighting and protocols. But emotionally she won't pass the test. But for once, she isn't upset about it, she is perfectly fine with having a little emotion towards those she loves, that doesn't mean she can't heartlessly murder some random rogue nin from the mist.

She knocks lightly on the Hokage's door and shuffles in, not waiting for a reply. She freezes as she steps in, she just interrupted an elite jonin meeting.

"I'll come back," she turns to leave but Tsunade stops her.

"Actually come here, I have a mission for you. And you will be present for the rest of the meeting." Kagami nods and silently makes her way to the back of the room and leans against the wall, there are no spare seats for her.

There is roughly ten Jonin sitting in front of her, Genma is the only one in the room she recognises.

She ignores all the gazes on her and looks up at the Hokage, listening to her words.

"As you all know, two S-Ranked criminals entered Konoha yesterday. We are unaware of how they made it into the village, but we know that they are looking for Naruto Uzumaki." Silence rings out through the room, "A Genin has chased after the two so I have also sent Might Gai after them. Naruto is with Jiraiya so he is safe enough."

Kagami stays silent.

"It is safe to guess that they are after him because he is a Jinchuuriki." A few bodies stiffen. "It would be nice if any of you know of any other Jinchuriki's in the vicinity so we can protect them."

No one makes a move to say anything, Kagami stays silent as well, hoping to just get through this meeting without any confrontation.

"Kagami,"

That was short lived.

She looks over to Tsunade, her face emotionless once again.

"Tsunade-sama?" She bows her head to the woman, telling her she has her full attention.

"Did you find any weaknesses within the two while fighting them?"

Kagami ponders for a mere moment before slowly nodding and pushing off the wall. 

"Kisame Hoshigaki, he steps back more, lets his partner to the work. I believe his sword is hard to navigate. He is fast with it, very fast but it takes energy. It eats up the chakra it touches." Kagami looks up to the woman, looking if she has answered the woman efficiently.

"And, Itachi Uchiha?" Tsunade leans on her desk, elbows down and fingers interlocked.

"His only weakness was that he still has an emotional attachment to the village." Kagami

"And why would you say that?"

"I heard Hoshigaki say it, just before I left the vicinity. I also had contact with them inside a dango shop before the incident." Kagami recalls it with perfect detail, "Kakashi, Asuma and Kurenai also noticed them, they were waiting outside the shop. Kakashi mentioned Sasuke and it visibly caused a reaction from him. He also took the liberty to speak to me as if he were still part of the village."

Tsunade leans back in her chair, "where is your brother?"

"I knocked him out this morning,"

She sweat-drops, "why would you do that?"

"He was lecturing me,"

The woman sighs, "how do you propose the best way to do something about them?"

"It would be wise to fight them while they are together, that way one of them normally steps back and lets the other fight. If we were to get them on their own they may be much more difficult to fight." Kagami leans against the wall. "And don't speak, when you speak to them they get the upper hand."

"Hm? How's that?" Tsunade, along with many jonin in the room take interest in the girl's proposal.

"For some of the fight, I was restrained by Hoshigaki. While I was I noticed that they were looking for information. They would ask little questions, or say things that triggered a response. Whatever they are a part of doesn't have that much information on Konoha."

"You believe they are part of an organisation," of course, Tsunade knows they are a part of an organisation and because of Jiraiya's help, she knows quite a lot about them, but no one else should.

"They were wearing a uniform, black cloaks with red clouds. I've seen it once before, Orochimaru was wearing it a number of years ago." Kagami suddenly realises her mistake, she glances up instantly to see most of the room giving her side glances.

"How do you know, Orochimaru?" Tsunade stands from her chair.

"I gave him a scare."
