Chapter 11
00:15, 19 July 2021"Tía Rosita w-what are you doing?!?" I hear Miguel screams through tears as the peddle begins to glow. "NO NO NO NO I CANT LEAVE HER SHE'S MY SISTER I CANT" Miguel keeps screaming over and over again. I look over and make eye contact with him and give him a small smile, and then he's gone. Back to the Land of the Living. I start coughing. It's blood. I'm coughing up blood now. It gets harder and harder to keep my eyes open with every raspy breathe I take. "No no no no no mija no it's not your time yet, come on mija you have to stay awake!" Mamá Imelda keeps yelling. I just look her in the eyes, give her one last smile - the best smile someone can manage after being stabbed with a huge rusted nail - and then I close my eyes. I hear them yelling at me to keep my eyes open but it's all going fuzzy. And then I hear nothing.
No ones POV Imelda looks at her great great granddaughter as she gives her a small smile and closes her eyes. Imelda will probably always remember the feeling she had when she saw the look in Alexandrias eyes - the sweet, stubborn, and prideful little girl who wasn't even 13 yet knew she was going to die - it physically hurt Imelda to see that look in Alexandria's eyes. But when she closed her eyes and stopped breathing was worse than anything Imelda has ever felt before. Oscar started doing CPR and Rosita was sobbing by now. Victoria was crying with Rosita and Héctor wasn't on the ground anymore. He and Felipe were trying to pull her away from Alexandria. Imelda couldn't hear anything. She could barely move. She didn't even realize she had began sobbing along with Rosita. Or that Héctor had his arms wrapped tightly around her. Hector and Felipe looked up at Oscar and Alexandria, hoping against all hope that he had succeeded, but when they looked up they didn't see what they hoped for. They saw Oscar slumped over a few feet away from Alexandria. Oscar just shook his head.
