Chapter 10

I tried not to cry out from to pain and I didn't, but instead they came out as painful whimpers. One hand was clutching my abdomen where it started to feel wet. My other hand was holding onto Tía Victoria for support but I still ending up on the ground.             "Mija you have to sit up straighter so I can see." Tía Victoria said, starting to sound desperate. I did as I was told but it hurt so bad.           Tía Victoria gasped loudly, loudly enough to catch the others attention. It was starting to get hard to breathe. My breathing was coming in and out raspy and laboured.           Mamá Imelda nearly screamed. Miguel started crying, Tío Oscar and Tío Felipe were trying to keep Miguel away since nobody wanted him to see his twin sister laying in a pool of her own blood.         I finally looked down and that's when I saw it. The deep crimson blood that was seeping through my dress and flowing over the hand that was trying to keep the blood in.          I was next to Héctor that was trying to help but it was hard for him because he could barely move. Miguel was beside hector and Héctor kept telling him not to look.        Mamá Imelda has both her hand covering the hand on my abdomen, also trying to stop the bleeding. "S-send Miguel h-home Mamá Imelda" I said trying my best to actually get the words out without crying.          "We can't send him home without you mija, we just can't." Mamá Imelda's voice choked up at the end of the sentence as she trying so hard to not cry but failing.          "Send" I take a raspy breathe. "Him h-home" I say again. Tía Rosita then starts crying as she walks over to Miguel with a peddle in hand.
