Chapter 22

07:32, 3 October 2018

Toni Braxton?

What was Toni Braxton doing outside of Janet and I's room?

Janet never mentioned being friends with Toni. She never mentioned her at all. April tied her robe close clearly not liking Toni's roaming eyes. April cleared her throat.

"Is there something you need?"

"Yes I was looking for Janet but it seems I have the wrong room number," she replied rubbing the back of her neck.

April looked at her suspiciously.

"No you have the right room number. Janet? Baby there's someone here for you," April yelled from the doorway.

Janet got up from out of bed and slipped on her robe walking into the living room.

"Baby who i...Toni what are you doing here," Janet hissed.

Janet looked between her ex-lover to her current lover not liking the situation at hand not one bit.

"I came here for you but seems you're busy at the moment," Toni said her voice a little shaky.

April looked at her funny. Then it clicked. Toni was the girl Janet spoke of.

No she couldn't be.

April folded her arms looking at Janet.

"Is there something you want to tell me Janet," April questioned.

"I should go," Toni said.

"Yeah you should," April growled slamming the door shut.

Janet walked back to the room ignoring April's question.

"I know you heard me Janet! Is there something you want to fucking tell me," she screamed.

Janet turned around glaring at April. "Don't you dare yell at me. Toni being my ex had nothing to do with you," she shouted back.

"Toni being your ex has everything to do with me! Janet she could take you away from me! I am nothing compared to her! Look at her! Look at me! She's everything," she yelled sounding a little helpless and frightened.

April had a lot of insecurities, but never being good enough was her worst one, but Janet was slowly helping her get rid of them. She couldn't lose Janet. She's in love with her, and would never stop loving her.

Janet's features softened hearing April's voice crack.

"Hey, hey look at me. She could never take me away from you. She's someone from the past. I'm yours and you're mine and no one can change that. I love you and only you."

April nodded kissing Janet. They both then got into bed cuddling letting sleep take over.

It was now eight o'clock. Janet was in the shower while April slipped on a pair of white high waisted shorts with a black crop top that said Janet's Girl on it. She then slipped on her black flip flops. Her hair had been put into a messy bun letting strands of hair hang down a little here and there. They were going to Luau Night.

Minutes later Janet was out of the shower and had slipped on a black flowing dress that stopped a little above her knees with black flip flops on also. She left her hair down in curls letting it flow gracefully. They then walked out of their hotel room hand in hand. Janet loved what April had on and she didn't let it go unnoticed. She couldn't keep her hands to herself.

They both sat down at a table in front of the stage waiting for whatever performance. Janet hand sat gently on April's lap sending chills through April's body. April smiled placing her hand on top of Janet's. Though both of their smiles faded as Toni walked on stage. If Janet knew Toni was performing she would've chose to go to the beach and watch the waves under the moon with April.

Janet was about to get up and leave until April tugged her hand.

"Let's not let her ruin our night. She's from you past and I'm your future. I'm all yours," April said smiling.

Janet smiled back and sat down.

Toni adjusted the mic to her size as the pianist got ready.  Toni's eyes landed on April and Janet. She couldn't help being jealous over how close they were, because that used to be Toni and Janet's relationship.

"How are you lovely people doing tonight," she asked getting an applause from the audience.

Once the pianist was ready he hooded getting her attention. "This song is dedicated to that special someone that you can't stop thinking about and I know how that feels. I hope you enjoy."

Since you been goneI been hangin' around here latelyWith my mind messed upJumped in my car tried to clear my mindDidn't help meI guess I'm all messed up now babySoon as I jumped into my rideThose memories start to playA song comes on the radioAnd there U are baby once again

It's just another sad love songRackin' my brain like crazyGuess I'm all torn upBe it fast or slowIt doesn't let goOr shake meAnd it's all because of you

Janet shifted uncomfortablely in her seat. Toni knew this was one of her favorite songs. Toni knew it would make Janet reminisce about all the good times they shared together and it did, but it was short-lived due to Toni breaking her heart. Sure she forgave her for it, but it still hurt her.

Since you been goneI keep thinkin' about you babyGets me all choked upThis heart of mine keepsDreamin' of you and it's crazyYou'd think I'd had enoughAs soon as I get you out my headI'm in your car againJust one request from the radioI'm back in love sugar once again

It's just another sad love songRackin' my brain like crazyGuess I'm all torn upBe it fast or slowIt doesn't let goOr shake meAnd it's all because of you

Here comes the stringsThen somebody singsOnly takes a beatAnd then it starts killin' me darlin'Only takes one note, I tell ya,From that radioIt's justAnotherLonelyLove Song

Toni never broke eye contact with Janet as the crowd stood and applauded her. April watched Janet as she squirmed under Toni's gaze.

"Baby I'm going to the restroom. I'll be right back," Janet said getting up and walking towards the restroom.

A hand then pulled her turning her around.

"Toni I don't have time for your bullshit right now," she hissed.

"Does she make you happy like I used to," Toni asked.

Janet looked at her in disbelief.

"Toni just leave me alone. We are never getting back together. So get that through your thick skull."

She pulled Janet's arm again turning her back around.

"Toni leave me al-" Toni interrupted Janet mid sentence branding their lips together.

Janet pushed her away like she was a walking disease.

"You disgust me Toni," Janet hissed before walking away.

Toni then turned around bumping into a furious April.

"She clearly doesn't want to be bothered with you. She is never going to get back with you and you know it. So just let us be," April growled walking pass Toni.

"Bitch," Toni mumbled under her breath, but not low enough, because April whipped around slapping her in the face.

"Don't test me. I might not look like that bitch, but I am so please don't try me," she warned then headed back to her hotel room.
