Chapter 14: Merry Christmas Scorpius; Part One

19:35, 9 May 2020

Soon enough, the rest of the weekend went by. Today was Monday, and all the students had to leave today for Christmas break. It was 8:00 am, and the train left at 9:30. All the students were down at breakfast, including Rose. When Rose woke up that morning, she put on her new necklace and ring. She loved them. They were so dainty and pretty. She made her way down to the Great Hall to eat. Apparently, she wasn't the only one staring at the gemstone at the center of her ring.

"Those are new! Where did you get that Rose!" Roxanne said, as she noticed Rose staring at her finger, with a big smile etched across her face.

"Oh," Rose said snapping out of her trance. Lily was laughing next to them.

"Answer me!" Roxanne demanded. At this point, Albus had walked up and sat down next to them as he was waiting for Scorpius to get out of the shower. (A/N: House Table sharing is allowed!!!)

"Oh, it was a gift. I also have the matching necklace." Rose said, as she pulled the necklace out for Roxanne to look out. Albus let out a laugh.

"Wow Rose! Who gave them to you? And why are you two laughing?" Roxanne asked, as she noticed her cousins grinning and laughing.

"Well, let's just say they were from a very good friend." Rose responded simply. She wasn't ready to tell her family about Scorpius. She knew she wouldn't hear the last of it. At this point, only Albus and Lily knew. Just the thought of how her family would react scared her. Even though everyone met Scorpius before at The Burrow and such, she didn't think that they would tolerate him dating her.

"I would say." Roxanne said, and she then got up, and left. She had to go pack up her stuff for break.

"Why didn't tell her who they are really from?" Albus said with a smirk on his face.

"Keep your voice down!" Rose demanded.

"Well I'm just saying." Albus said.

"Scorpius did a very good job picking them out." Rose said quietly, as she stared down at her ring.

"Gee, I sure hope he did. After he came back from your guy's romantic date night, he kept blabbering on and on about it!" Albus said as he laughed. This made Rose's insides turn. Romantic date night. He kept making an effort to talk about it.

"Rose." Albus said as he waved a hand in front of Rose's face.

"Al, I need to ask you something." Rose said.

"I'm listening." Albus responded.

"Does Scorpius seriously like me like that?" Rose asked.

"Are you kidding me right now? Are you oblivious? Of course he does. I sure hope he does. All he does is blabber about how your perfect ringlet curls frame your face, or something vomit inducing like that. He's always in la-la-land when we mention you. And when I finish what I'm saying, he flops on his bed and sighs, like a lovesick puppy. Yes Rose, he definitely likes you." Albus said rolling his eyes.

"Wow." Rose responded, this is exactly what she needed to hear. She needed to say something else.

"Well, I like him like that too." Rose spat out.

"What have you done with Rose Weasley? What happened to you despising him? But, its a little obvious. I had my suspicions. Between the studying and the Hogsmeade dates, you guys were kind of making it pretty clear." Albus responded.

"I'm sorry, I had to get it off my chest." Rose said back.

"It's alright. I understand. Look, there's your Prince Charming now." Albus said, as Scorpius walked into the Great Hall. Then, Albus walked away, and sat next to Scorpius at the Slytherin table.

After breakfast, everyone went up to their dorms to collect their stuff. Eventually, the students went down to Hogsmeade station to get on the train.

The Prefects had to do their usual job for the first half of the train ride. Rose and Scorpius made their way to the Prefects carriage to hear the Head Boy and Girl's speech on what they had to do. While they were blabbering, Scorpius noticed the ring and necklace he got Rose on her, and they were shimmering from the sunlight shining from the window. Rose and Scorpius did their jobs, and Scorpius went to go to his compartment with Albus, until Rose said something to him.

"Hey Scorp, hang on a sec. Can I sit with you and Albus in your guy's compartment. I love my family, but they can overwhelm me sometimes." Rose asked. She had to make up a lie fast, she just didn't want to leave Scorpius. She enjoyed his company.

"Oh, sure." Scorpius responded. He couldn't believe it. Had she just asked to sit with him? Yes. Wow.

Scorpius and Rose walked to the compartment. When they got there, they found Albus sleeping with his head in a textbook. Clearly, he hadn't finished his homework again. Scorpius then walked up and slapped him to wake up.

"wha-" Albus said as he was slapped awake.

"We're done." Scorpius said as he and Rose sat down.

"You brought company." Albus said as he saw his cousin sit down very closely next to Scorpius.

Scorpius and Rose laughed at this. For about another hour, the three 15 year olds talked about different things, until the compartment was silent. Scorpius and Rose fell asleep. More importantly, they fell asleep on each other. Rose's head was resting on Scorpius's chest. Scorpius's arm drifted around her, holding her close. Albus noticed this, he smiled, rolled his eyes, then left to go find his brother, sister, and cousins. He wanted to give them privacy.

When he got to the famous Weasley-Potter compartment, everyone looked very surprised to see him.

"What are you doing here?" James asked, looking up from a game of exploding-snap with his friends.

"What, I'm not welcome to sit with my own family?" Albus asked amusingly.

"No, but you usually sit with Scorpius. What's up?" James responded.

"Well, let's just say I wanted to give some people some privacy." Albus said, and Lily let out a squeal at this. Everyone else looked very confused. Albus and Lily gave each other a knowing look. Everyone stared at them with a very confused look. After a minute, everyone let it go and returned to what they were doing, except for Lily, she waved Albus toward her.

"What are you hiding! Wait I think I know!" Lily said with a grin on her face. Albus simply nodded at this.

"Do you want proof?" Albus asked. With that, him and Lily left the compartment and headed down to his and Scorpius's. When they approached, Albus simply pointed to Rose and Scorpius fast asleep on each other. Lily smiled at this.

"Now, listen. You can't tell anyone about this. No one. Not Hugo. And especially Uncle Ron and Aunt Hermione. I swore not to tell anyone, I assumed Rose told you." Albus said.

"Yea, I'm not going to tell anyone. I'm more loyal than that!" Lily responded.

"Okay good." Albus said. Then, him and his sister went back to their compartment.

Another hour went by, and before anyone knew it, the train was pulling into King's Cross Station. Rose and Scorpius were still sound asleep on each other. Albus decided to go wake them. When he got back to the compartment, he went up and shook Rose and Scorpius awake. When both their eyes fluttered open, they jumped away from each other. Had they really fell asleep on each other?

"Don't hide it. I saw. You two have been doing that for 2.5 hours now. It's fine." Albus said smirking.

No one said anything for a minute. Scorpius and Rose smiled awkwardly at each other. They were cuddling! Both of their insides were doing backflips, and their imaginations were going into overdrive.

"By the way, were here." Albus said to break the silence.

"Oh, yea." Scorpius and Rose said at the same time.

With that, Albus was the first to gather his things, along with his white ferret named Mo. (HAHA! See what I did there!๐Ÿ˜‚) He took his things, and was the first in the compartment to leave.

Then, Rose and Scorpius did the same.

"You know Scorpius, it's going to be weird not studying with you every day. I'm going to miss that. Well, I hope you have a good break, and I guess I'll see you when we go back." Rose said as she collected her belongings. Then she did something. She wrapped her arms around Scorpius, and squeezed him tight. She had hugged him goodbye. It was hard to believe that Scorpius's heart didn't beat out of his chest. it felt sooooo gooood. Her warm body wrapping around his, her hair so close to him that he could smell her rose scented shampoo, the same thing he smelled in his Amortentia. Rose then let go, and stared into his eyes.

"Yea, you too Rose. I can't wait to see you when we get back." Scorpius responded, that was all he managed to choke out.

Then, the two walked off the train together. They both gave each other one last wave goodbye, before they went of to go find their parents.

Little did Rose know, but Hermione had spotted her daughter walking off with a tall, platinum-blond haired boy. Hermione had a general idea who that was. She had noticed that her daughter had the biggest smile etched across her face. Soon enough, Rose was coming towards them.

After Rose said goodbye to Scorpius, she went to find her family. To be honest, they weren't that hard to spot. Her father stood at 6'2, and her brother was standing next to him at 5'10.5. And, not to mention, but the red hair was a contributing factor too.

"Hello." Rose said as she approached her family, then being wrapped in hugs by her mother and father.

"ROSIE!" Her father beamed.

"Yea, yea. It took her long enough. Where were you anyway Rose?" Hugo asked.

"Oh, I was...places." Rose responded with a dreamy look on her face.

"And to mention that you have a huge smile on your face." Hermione added in, she knew what her daughter was smiling about.

"Oh, it's just a nice day." Rose simply responded to her mother's comment.

"A nice day! It's 20 degrees and snowing out here! Let's go I'm freezing!" Hugo said. (A/N: Okay, I'm American so we use Fahrenheit and not Celsius. Sorry for the inconvenience!)

With that, Ron, Hermione, Rose, and Hugo all made their way to the car to drive home.

It was now 6:30 that evening. Rose had went back up to her room from dinner. She just couldn't get him out of her head. Her and him. Her and Scorpius. Scorpius and her. Rose and Scorpius. Scorpius and Rose. Rose just flopped down on her bed and sighed, Albus would describe this action like a lovesick puppy. Then, Hermione walked by and saw her daughter like this. This intrigued her.

"Hey Rosie. What's up?" Hermione asked, sitting on her daughter's bed.

"Nothing." Rose responded, but a little to quickly.

"Don't oh nothing me. Clearly somethings up." Hermione said, but something fought her eye. Her daughter was wearing a beautiful necklace and ring. She had never her daughter wearing those before.

"Not to change the subject, but I like your ring and necklace. Are they new? I've never seen them on you before." Hermione added.

"Oh, now that you mention it, yea they are new." Rose responded, she wasn't sure how far her mother was going to go with this.

"Oh, who are they from?" Hermione asked.

This question hit Rose in the chest very hard. Should she tell her mum who they were actually from? Would she freak out? She wanted to tell her mum, she could trust her, but she wouldn't know how she would react.

"Okay. Just PLEASE don't freak out when I tell you." Rose pleaded.

"Why would I do that? I'm not you dad, if they're from a boy I won't freak out." Hermione responded.

"Well, I know that, but you just promised, so don't say I didn't warn you." Rose said.

"Okay, go on, I'm ready." Hermione said back.

"Okay, fine, here goes nothing.........Scorpius Malfoy." Rose spat out.

Hermione sat there for a moment in shock. She did see Scorpius walk off the train with Rose, but she didn't know that they were seeing each other.

"Oh, you said you wouldn't freak out! I knew I shouldn't have told you!" Rose said as she stared at the expression on Hermione's face.

"No, Rose it's fine, but could you explain a little further." Hermione asked, curious to know more.

"Well, it's kind of a long story, but here we go. Um, this year me and Scorpius became friends. Really good friends actually. We like to study in the library together every night. And, we talk about different things. I don't know, we just clicked, if you know what I mean." Rose said.

"Okay, but that doesn't answer my question on how you got the necklace and ring." Hermione responded.

"Well, on Saturday we went to Hogsmeade together. It wasn't the first time, we went together last month too. But, James decided that he wanted to have Quidditch practice that day, so Scorpius beat me down there. I assume while I was at practice, he went and picked these out for me as a Christmas gift. And then when I got to the Three Broomsticks, he surprised me with them." Rose responded to Hermione's comment.

"Wow Rose. Um, I don't know if I can ask this, but are you two seeing each other." Hermione asked.

"Well, um, its complicated. No, not officially, but he fancies me, and I fancy him." Rose said back.

"Why not?" Hermione continued to ask questions.

"It's just that, I think we both feel like it would be hard. I mean, you guys hate Mr. Malfoy, and I don't think he especially likes you guys either." Rose responded sighing.

"Oh, Rosie. I had no idea you felt this way. You don't have to worry about how me and your dad feel about a boy. We will support you no matter what." Hermione said to her daughter, looking at her ocean-blue eyes.

"Yea, you would normally say that, but he's a Malfoy! Dad will never have it! Oh, what have I got myself into!" Rose said, as a tear rolled down her cheek.

"Oh Rosie! It's okay. Yes, he's a Malfoy, but that doesn't make a difference to us. Well, I'm not going to beat around the bush, your father will probably react differently. But, he will eventually come to it." Hermione said as she hugged Rose.

"Yea but it's not fair! Everyone judges him for who his family is, not him! He's kind, nice, and very smart. He is very different than his family was. Everyone takes it out on him! He doesn't deserve it! He had to loose his mum at the age of 12! I couldn't imagine that! And he still had to deal with people hating on him! I just want to make up for all that. I want to do something special for him, but I don't know what. I love him mum." Rose said between sobs, she didn't mean to say the last part out loud.

"Rosie. I had no idea about any of this. I'm so sorry." Hermione said as she leaned into her daughter.

"And he still manages to put on a happy face everyday. I don't know how he does it. He didn't have to get me these, they were probably pretty expensive. And, he gets pretty much all O's in his classes. With all that going on, it just makes me wonder how the heck he does it everyday. I just want to do something special for him." Rose added.

"Well, Rose that's sounds good. You should do something special for him. If you want, I can help you." Hermione said.

"Really?" Rose asked.

"Yes, really. I would be happy to help." Hermione said back.

And with that, the two witches started stating ideas on what would be a good Christmas gift for Scorpius.
