I got ready for the day. I was still freaked out by the dream. I wore a long sleeve purple shirt with a cross cross chest design and ripped blue jeans. I wore a black gem necklace and black combat boots with my hair up in a messy bun.

I walked out and saw a note on the counter.

Emmie,Went to the school early for set up. I printed you a schedule and I made some breakfast. See you later. Love,Dad

I looked at the stove to see cinnamon toast and coffee in the cup. I chuckled lightly. We really weren't a cooking family, but he always had a little bit of coffee ready for me in the morning. I put lots of cream and sugar in it. Mostly to cover up the taste of the special herb we put in it called vervain. It kept the vampires from controlling my mind, just in case we ran into one.

Not long after I headed to the school. I walked towards the front and it was like any other normal high school. I got inside and looked to my schedule.

I saw my dad's name. I guess that meant he was one of my teachers. I walked to the room number he was listed under and a whole bunch of people waved at me as I got there. I waved back confused.

I walked into his class and looked around. "It's nice." I said looking at his desk filled with papers.

"Yeah." He nodded as he closed the closet.

"So I got this teacher Mr. Saltzman. What a weird name." I said looking at him with a smile.

"Yeah sounds like a weirdo." He joked. "Hey try to make some friends today."

"What you plan on us staying?" I asked crossing my arms lightly.

"Yeah I want you to be able to graduate here. I want to stay here for a while if it's safe." He nodded lightly.

"Promise?" I asked looking up to him seriously. I was used to being the new girl, but it wasn't my favorite thing ever.

"Promise." He nodded as he smiled.

"Thanks, Dad." I smiled back as I hugged him lightly.

"And in case you need it, this locker has the weapons." He whispered as I looked to the locker.

I nodded once and the bell rang. "Looks like I've got to go. See you later." I said as I walked towards the door.

"Bye." I said before turning around and I bumped into someone. "Geez I'm sorry." I said as I looked up to see the blonde waiter guy. "Oh, Matt right?" I asked with a smile.

"Yeah and you're Emma." He nodded lightly. "You really look so much like Elena." He said shaking his head. "I had to do a double take."

"Yeah I think that's why everyone keeps waving at me." I nodded lightly as he let out a soft chuckle. "You'll have to introduce her to me sometime." I smiled.

"Yeah I will." He nodded as I walked past him and into my next class. It was math- ugh. I went to the teacher.

"Hi I'm Emmaline Flemming, I'm new to school." I said to the woman sitting down as she gave me a quick glance.

"Nice try Elena." The woman said as I looked at her.

"I've gotten that a lot lately. I'm actually Emma I swear." I sighed lightly showing her my schedule. I really hoped not everyone thought I was her all the time.

"Oh I'm sorry." She observed me. "Alright back there." She said pointing to the only empty chair. "It might take a while for you to catch on but don't worry if you need help I'm sure some people can help you out."

"Thank you." I nodded lightly as I sat down. I looked to my right to see a guy looking at me. "Hi." I said smiling lightly to him.

"Hey." He smiled lightly. "You do kinda look like Elena." He asked.

"So I've heard. I've never met the girl. I've heard a lot about her though. I moved here yesterday." I explained to him.

"And you still came to school?" He asked surprised.

"Yeah." I nodded with a chuckle.

"Damn. Well if you're new you probably need some help getting around." He said. I knew what this was about. He looked like a huge flirt. "My name is Tyler. Tyler Lockwood." He introduced as he held out his hand.

I took it and shook it with a smile. I needed a friend, even if it was a complete flirt. I bet he was a jock. He had dark brown hair and a tan skin tone as well as dark brown eyes.

"Woah. You're pretty strong." He said surprised as he tilted his head lightly.

"I work out a little." I shrugged lightly. If only he knew. The hunting thing was sort of a secret so I couldn't tell him even if I wanted.

"Ms. Flemming I understand you are new, but it's important that you understand that there is no talking in my class." The woman said as I put on a fake smile.

"Sorry. I was just asking Tyler about the curriculum." I smiled to her as I played with the pencil in my hand. She nodded once and I smirked at Tyler before starting to pay attention.

I wasn't an A student, that was for sure, but I was decent. I rocked all Bs and that was good enough for me. Dad was only a little strict because of my- troubled past.

The day went by and eventually I was at lunch. I looked around. What a sight. I knew no one. I saw Tyler at a table with a whole bunch of guys with Matt next to him. The only people I knew were friends so I guess that was a plus, but they were both guys and guys got me into trouble.

I walked over anyway because I didn't know where else to go. "Hey." I smiled looking to Matt and then to Tyler. They looked to me and the rest of the guys were quiet. "It's my first day and I don't really have anywhere to sit so-"

"Yo is she playing?" One guy asked with a laugh. Matt scooted over and I sat next to him.

"No she's actually new. Her name is Emma." Matt said looking for the guy. "It's not a big deal guys."

"You know Matt?" Tyler asked as I nodded.

"I met him yesterday. He gave me some Sprite at the Mystic Grill." I explained with a smile as I took a bite of one of my fries.

"Did you know Elena was his ex girlfriend?" He asked looking at me leaning in.

"I did not." I answered looking to Matt who glared at Tyler. He was trying to get to me wasn't he? Two could play at that game. "It doesn't really bother me though since I've never met her and I'm not here to get with anyone." I explained eating some food. "I'm honestly just here to make some friends. I really hope you didn't think I was here to get with you."

All the guys started oo-ing probably surprised that I responded that way. I smirked. "She's nothing like Elena." One said as they all laughed. I chuckled lightly and smiled to Tyler who looked shocked but impressed.

Lunch was normal I guess. I talked to the guys mostly, but I wasn't into all the testosterone. I needed a girl friend.

The day went by and I got into my last class which was Chemistry.

I walked into the room and did the standard I'm new to class procedure and talked to the teacher and for the third time the teacher said I looked like Elena. I also came to realize that teachers didn't really take the time to look at you which was annoying. "And there she is." The teacher said as I turned surprised to finally see the girl everyone was talking about.

"Woah." I said looking at her. Everyone was right. This girl, this Elena, looked like me. The only difference was that she had a smaller nose. She had her hair down and she had some gloss on her lips too which was nothing like me.

"Who are you?" She asked looking to me gripping her book bag strap with confusion. She honestly looked like she had seen some shit.

"I'm Emma." I said looking to her surprised. "You must be Elena." I said crossing my arms. "This is something out of the parent trap isn't it? I guess it'd be weirder if we were splitting images." I asked as she nodded with a smile. I eased the tension just a little bit.

The bell rang and I looked at the teacher. She sat me near Elena and all I heard was how much we looked alike and it was true.

To be honest I wanted to know why. I mean I didn't know my biological father so maybe- but what about my mom? It was hard to think about. We had to be related though right? I really knew nothing about my biological family, did she know anything about hers? It would be cool to have a sister but it sounded crazy.

The rest of class I impatiently waited for it to end. I wanted to talk to her about what was going on.

The bell rang and I looked to her. "Hey I was thinking we could talk." I said looking at her.

"Agreed." She nodded.

"Do you think we could be related or something? I mean is it normal that we look so similar?" I asked looking to her confused.

"No I don't think so. I mean I've heard of people looking similar so it's not impossible." She sighed. "Let's say we are related. How?" She asked looking at me questioningly.

"I mean I don't really know much about my family. I don't know my biological father and my mom died a few years ago so-" I stopped looking to her. It was weird to talk about.

"I'm sorry to here that. My parents both died in a car crash a few months ago." She said with a nod. It was still affecting her I could tell.

"So I guess there's no way we can find out." I sighed lightly.

"Well I could ask my aunt about our lineage." She suggested as I nodded. "I should get going. Bonnie's waiting."

"Before you go, have my number is you can tell me if you find anything." I suggested to her as she nodded.

"I will. See you later." She waved. She seemed like this wasn't the only thing bothering her. Like she had so much more going on. I could sense the stress.

Seeing her got me thinking of what could be going on. I mean we couldn't be twins right? She obviously knows- knew her parents well enough to be aware. And besides why would they give me up or why would my mom give her up. It left too many holes that didn't add up.

I went back to my dads classroom to do homework while he did teacher things. It was a normal thing for us to do so I just rolled with it.

"I met this girl in one of my classes. She looked kinda like you." He said as I nodded.

"Yeah her name is Elena. I met her. It was weird." I explained worried. "Hey do you know anything about Moms lineage?"

"Not really." He shook his head. "We didn't really know a lot about each other, other than that we were in love."

I nodded lightly. "I was just thinking Elena and I could be related somehow." I shrugged. I mean how else was I supposed to go about this situation? There was some random chick that wore my face and I wasn't sure what to do about it.

"It might just be coincidental you know." He responded seemingly chill about it all.

"Yeah I guess." I nodded. I didn't really want to think about it. It creeped me out big time. "I just hope she's nice. It would suck if my look alike wasn't as cool as I was." I smiled to him.

He let out a soft chuckle. "I'd rather there only be one of you. If there were two I'd lose my mind." He responded as I shook my head.

"Yeah, yeah." I rolled my eyes and went back to my work. Thank god I was blessed with his laid back nature. If I wasn't I'd be losing my shit right now. I mean wouldn't anybody?
