Chapter 21 

Joey's POV

I knew Ross was going to do this, but it still hurts just as much. I stand beside Rachel with my fists balled up while she looks at Ross with her jaw dropped and all. Ross continues to come closer until he's just a couple of feet from Rachel. 

 "Rachel, I know you love Joey, but there's something I need to say to you. I'm still in love with you. Hell I've been in love with you since day one. Though you probably already knew that based on my crazy actions these past few weeks. I know that this is the worst time for me to tell you this, but I was too nervous to do it beforehand. So now I'm standing here like a fool hoping that you'll run hand in hand with me outside this church, into the street, and beyond." 

  Rachel looks at me and mouths "May I speak to him for a minute?" I sigh, but nod. She makes her way closer to him. "Ross, you've always been very special to me. You're one my best friends. Despite all our fights, you've always been there for me and I thank you for that, but what I'm about to say might hurt you a little bit. I'm not in love with you anymore. My feelings for you disappeared a couple years back. You and I tried so many times, but it never worked. We had too many problems. I love Joey now and I'm going to get married to him right here, right now. I'm sorry Ross." 

 I watch as a stunned and hurt Ross makes his way to the back of the church with not even a word as he looks back at us one last time and slams the door shut. That's how I know that Ross will never be okay with our marriage.
