Chapter 20

A few days later... Wedding Day

Rachel's POV

 This is it. The biggest day of my life is finally here. It's been exhausting to prepare for, but it's all going to be worth because Joey will finally be my husband and I will be his wife. That's all I've dreamed about for the past year. Now it's time to make my dream a reality. I pick up the bottom of my dress and lift it up a bit so I don't trip. My dad takes my arm in his to help me walk down the aisle.

  The nerves in stomach rapidly build up as the music begins and people stand up to take in the sight of me. I stare straight ahead and block them out. I make eye contact with Joey who has the biggest, most dreamy smile on his face. It's one of those smiles that makes one see how loved they really are by their significant other.

   Joey helps me get my veil out of my face and we take each others hands. We turn to face the priest who proceeds to tell us to read each other's vows aloud. Joey steps forward indicating that he's going to read his first. "My vows are pretty short, just putting that out there." Mostly everyone laughs at that.

  "Today, I join my life to yours, not merely as your husband/wife, but as your friend, your lover, and your confidant.

Let me be the shoulder you lean on, the rock on which you rest, the companion of your life.

With you I will walk my path from this day forward. I love you Rachel. I always have and will for the rest of my life." 

  Tears fill in my eyes making it hard for me to see straight as I pull out the paper with my vows on them. "Mine are also pretty short, but here it goes." 

"Joey, with free and unconstrained soul,I give you all I am and all I am to become.Take this ring, and with it my promise of faith, patience, and love, for the rest of my life."

 The priest smiles. "Now before these two officially are pronounced husband and wife, is there anyone who objects to this marriage? Speak now or forever hold your peace." 

  A dark figure approaches the aisle. "I do." All heads turn to see who just objected to our marriage. As the dark figure gets closer, it turns out to be Ross.
