notti and dd were walking around the sugarhill neighborhood, talking about whatever. their original plan was to go to the deli then go back home but they got carried away and just started walking around their home place neighborhood.

dd was in his own world, zoned out as notti was ranting about something that had happened on the block with the group. "dd, are you listening?" he asked, stopping his ranting and looking at the older boy. he snapped out of his trance and looked at his brother.

"yeah, i am," he lied. truthfully, he was thinking about jaelin. "then what was i saying?" notti asked, stopping himself from walking and crossing his arms. dd looked at notti and thought for a moment. "something about roscoe and edot." he said.

"no, bro!" notti yelled. he smacked his lips and groaned. "i was telling you on what happened with keem." he said. dd made a face of realization. "ohhh," he said. they continued walking as dd spoke up again. "sorry, bro. my mind just been on jaelin for a hot minute."

notti made a sad look at his brother and stuffed his hands in his coat pockets. "do you regret it?" he asked. dd mugged his brother and sucked his teeth. "nah," he lied, again. "i'm back fuckin with crystal now." he said. notti stopped walking and dropped his jaw.

dd stopped walking as well and rolled his eyes and his younger brother. notti smacked him hard in the back of his head and continued walking angrily. dd smacked his lips and rubbed the back of his head. "dick," he mumbled. "why the fuck are you talking to crystal again? you're so dumb, nigga." he said.

"bro just cause i like her?" dd questioned. notti nodded his head as if it was obvious. "yes!" he shouted. "shut the fuck up." dd said. "you fumbled bro. crystal over jaelin is just.. wow." notti sighed.

dd waved him off as they continued walking.

he wanted to tell him that it was just a distraction and that he really did love jaelin but he knew if he did, he would probably go off and tell her. dd sighed and rubbed his hands together for warmth. "i didn't even feel nothin for jaelin for real," he said.

notti sarcastically laughed at him and shook his head. "you cappin yo ass off, bro," dd smacked his lips and gave notti a 'bffr' face. "i'm not. i don't like jaelin, bro. we were only dating to make crystal jealous. she nothing but a friend to me. no real shit between us." he said.

notti widened his eyes and puts his hands on his head. he started laughing and sighed to calm him down. "can't believe you just said that dumbass shit, nigga. dd, bruh, everyone knows the two of y'all feel something for each other. none of that fake shit. hell, even mom notices." he said.

dd didn't say anything for a minute. he took what his brother said in. even if notti was right, he was now mad at himself he never noticed that jaelin might've felt the same way as him. if he did notice, trust they would still be together. maybe.

dd just heavily sighed and slightly pushed notti. "nah, bro, you fucking chattin. that's all you do," dd said, getting mad. notti groaned and threw his head back as they now entered the deli. "no the fuck i'm not!" he yelled. "you just never want to listen." he said as he grabbed a bag of hot cheetos.

"i do listen, the fuck. i just don't listen to you when you lie bout dumb shit. you know that lil ass girl ain't feel nothin for me." dd said. "nah callin her a little ass girl is crazy," he said whilst laughing. "nah notti you really gettin me tight, nigga." dd said, storming out the the shop.

notti just shook his head as he grabbed a water bottle and walked out the shop but not before putting a ten dollar bill on the counter for ahran. notti as well stormed out the shop and walked back home with his stuff in his hands.

it had been a few days since dd and notti's slight argument, then both not talking to one another. it was now the thirteenth of january at seven pm and dd was out smoking with keem and edot on the block. dd hasn't talked to anyone besides ddot since he's the only one who has actually texted him.

dd took a puff from the blunt edot had handed him and zoned out completely. partly because he was also fanned out at the same time but you know. "dd!" keem yelled. dd snapped out his trance and immediately looked at him. "what?" he asked. "give me the blunt, nigga." he said.

"oh." he said. he handed him the blunt and zoned out again. clearly not all the way since he could still hear the two. "you good, bro?" edot asked, taking a drink from his slushy. dd looked up at him and shrugged. "what is it," keem asked whilst laying out on the brick steps him and dd were sitting on.

dd sighed and looked between the two. "just dumb girl shit, bro," he said. the older boys groaned. he knew he would regret asking but he did anyways. "what happened?" edot asked. dd told the boys everything, not knowing what to say. edot very much had common sense as well as notti but keem on the other hand..

edot knew keem was gonna say some stupid shit about jaelin so before he did, he spoke up first. "tell her how you feel. don't be doin no dumb shit, dd. everyone on the block knew you was in love with her," he said. dd sighed and threw his hands up. "you and notti goin soft on me," he said.

edot laughed and shook his head. "i'm serious." he said whilst keem rolled up another blunt. "keem, give me your advice." dd said, turning to the older guy. keen looked up from what he was doing, completely dumbfounded. "huh," he said. dd smacked his lips. "oh, oh," he said. "you know, i say, fuck bitches and get money." he joked.

dd laughed and nodded, dabbing him up. the two laughed as edot look at them with annoyed looks. "nah i'm just playin," he said, lighting the blunt and taking a puff from it then handing it off to edot. "nah me personally i could tell you was jackin ha for real. all you talked about was her." he said.

dd looked ahead of him and nodded. it was true, all he talked about was jaelin. he would always bring her to the block, same for ddot and notti with jasmine and alexandra. anytime her name was brought up in a conversation, he would stop what he was doing and immediately engage into it. and when he talked about her, everyone could see the boys eyes light up.

dd zoned out everything else keem was saying because it was irrelevant to him. his plan was to just deny and push his feelings away. he was gonna use crystal as a distraction and hopefully the feelings for jaelin would go away. but we all know that won't happen.

mid-talk with keem, dd just upped and left. keem and edot shared looks and watched the boy walk away. they just sighed and passed the blunt back and forth to each other as dd walked home, one, to apologize to notti and two, to text crystal.

this chapta everywhere but it's late so .. uh sorry i ain update . i've been sick eva since sunday after all my basketball games 🥲 .

but this is js a filla chapta cs im tryna make mo chaptas before this book comes to an end 😞 . ima b real upset when it end but js wait for ma notti book . it gon be good .
