"they like, "notti keep rappin you different." they said, "stay out the streets but i wouldn't-" you was droppin the O, you went missin- oh nah," dd heard notti yell into the mic. ddot, dd, and notti were all at the studio recording notti's new song, 'don't change'.

notti did his verse and chorus a few times until he was good with the results. mel guap started his verse as notti went and sat next down next to his friend and brother since he was done with his part. dd was on his phone scrolling through instagram, liking some random girls photos.

"yo you talk to jae?" notti asked. dd looked up from his phone with a sigh and rubbed his eyes. he set his phone down in his lap and shrugged his shoulders. "nah, not since new years," he said. "why?" he asked. notti and ddot shared looks before they both sighed.

"you ain't seen what she posted?" ddot asked. dd furrowed is eyebrows and shook his head no. "oh." the boys said in unison. "what she post?" dd asked them. "nigga go look." notti said as mel guap came over and dabbed all of the boys up and sat in the chair next to dd.

dd unlocked his phone and went to instagram, scrolling through the people he follows trying to find jaelins account. after awhile he finally found her account and clicked on it and clicked on her story.

dd smacked his lips and shook his head. "she stay putting shit online bro," he said. "can never keep shit private." he mumbled. notti and ddot shared looks until ddot spoke up. "can't believe i'm about to say this but y'all on the outs and you can't even appreciate that she posted you saying she's proud of you?" he questioned.

dd nodded his head. "ion care at this point," he sighed. notti furrowed his eyebrows and mugged his brother. "nigga what," he said. dd nodded his head again. "i've gave her so many hints that i have feelings for her and she hasn't noticed."

"feels like she was just dead leading me on. ion know why but it just does, real shit." he continued on. notti and ddot smacked their lips and groanded whilst throwing their heads back. "dd you're not listening, my nigga." notti said.

"on bro," ddot added on. "if anything both of y'all aren't getting the hints." he said. dd furrowed his eyebrows and stood up. he just shook his head and waved them both off. he started walking towards the door til notti stopped him.

"where you going, bro?" he asked. dd turned his head with a sigh. "home, nigga." he said. he opened the door to the studio and walked out of it. before he closed the door he could hear both of the boys sigh.

he ran down the stairs and opened the front door, walking out of it. he put his airpods in and played one of the many playlists he has. he walked a few ways until he stopped at the deli to get something to eat.

jaelin, alexandra, jasmine and sam were all walking to the deli whilst talking about random stuff. they walked into the shop, saying hello to ahran, the arab guy who runs the place. the girls immediately went to the food section and looking at what they wanted.

jaelin tapped her finger to her chin as jasmine immediately grabbed a bag of doritos. "she ain't even have to think," alexandra whispered to her sister. jaelin let out a laugh as jasmine walked towards them. "whatchu say, alex?" she questioned.

"i said, you ain't even have to think." she repeated herself. jasmine deadpanned her friend then started hitting her. they got into a play fight as jaelin and sam just laughed at them and jaelin walked away to the drink isle.

she looked at the drinks that were available and she sighed. she opened one of the doors and grabbed a strawberry lemonade calypso and closed the door. she looked down at her feet as she started walking away until she ran into someone.

"oh, shit, sorry-" she said as she looked up. "oh." she said. the boy looked down at her and slightly rolled his eyes. she mugged him and rolled her eyes as well whilst trying to walk off. though he grabbed her wrist, making her turn around.

the boy pulled out his airpods and shoved it into his pocket and looked at her up and down. "why you actin like that?" he asked. she scoffed and crossed her arms. "dd let's be serious," jaelin said. "you're the one who said you can't do us anymore. so whatchu you mean why am i actin like this?" she ranted.

he rolled his eyes and rubbed his temples. "i mean why you tellin the whole fucking internet that we on da outs." he said. she furrowed her eyebrows and unfolded her arms. "i didn't?" she said. he deadpanned her. "now how bout you be serious," he said.

"your instagram story?" he questioned. she made a face of realization until she brought her expression down to a dirty look. "i ain't say yo name for a reason," she said. "people aren't that dumb, jaelin." he said sternly. she rubbed her temples and sighed. "i don't know what to tell you, man. i was just tryna support you ddot and notti." she said.

"well just don't, bro." he said and walked off. she threw her arms up and walked up to the cashier. she let out a huff and blinked away the tears that were currently brimmed at her eyes. "everything okay, marie?" ahran asked the girl, his accent coming through.

ahran and jaelins mother were the only people who called her by her middle name. ahran was like jaelins dad that she never got to have. with her father off in jail for some gang shit, ahran stepped in. no, him and callie never did anything but they were just close friends growing up.

jaelin nodded her head and put some of her hair behind her ear. she payed for her lemonade and walked out the store leaving alexandra and jasmine by themselves. jaelin slowly walked home and pulled out her phone, texting alexandra, jasmine, and sam letting them know what happened and that she left.

she twisted her front door handle and walked into her house, kicking off her slides. she set her already half drank lemonade on the table and made her way upstairs. she rummaged through her closet and looked for an outfit before deciding on grey sweatpants and a white croptop.

she went over to her vanity and put on her aquaphor and then layed down on her bed with a sigh. she scrolled through tiktok until she eventually fell asleep.

jaelin woke up to her phone blowing up. ring after ring after ring. she groaned and rubbed her eyes, putting her phone on silent. she looked at her phone to see it was five forty five.

she looked at all the messages and notifications she had gotten, seeing that dd tagged her in a story, notti and ddot spamming her phone asking if she was okay along with sam, jasmine, and alexandra doing the same. and then one final text from dd three minutes ago.

if she were being honest, she was quite scared. her mind immediately went to if she did something wrong when she saw that dd had texted her name as 'jaelin.' and another text message along with it.

the first app she went to was instagram and clicked on dd's story. she read it almost a million times over again, her heart dropping everytime. she thought she was about to cry, but no tears came out of her eyes. she set her phone down on her bed and just stared at it.

messages continued to fill her screen but she just ignored them.

jaelin sighed and went out of the instagram app and heading to her messages. the first message she clicked on was dd's.

jaelin turned her phone phone and rubbed her face with her hands. she was sad but not so sad where she could cry over it. she really did like the boy. as a friend and obviously much more as a friend. but she thought that he didn't feel the same.

the minute he told her he couldn't do this anymore on new years, she already they were gonna stop whatever they head going on. she just didn't think it would be this soon and hurt this much. matter of fact, she was so wrong about david not feeling the same as her.

he was in love with her. he didn't mean for it to happen it just.. did. that day in august when he met her, he already knew his feelings but he was too scared to commit. so when he started texting crystal again during their whole situation, it was like a distraction for him.

for him and his feelings. and ever since christmas eve, crystal's been back in the picture. he has no feelings for her whatsoever but like i said, it's a distraction. that's why he's been so distant. he doesn't wanna tell the girl how he truly feels because he never knew she felt the same way.

jaelin already knew what she was up for when she met dd and the other two. she's heard about them all over the internet because of their music. she just never thought she was gonna have this with him. friends, yeah. but whatever they had? no.

she never thought there would be a end to her and dd, but i guess she was wrong. she let out a sigh and got up from her bed and went towards her mothers door. she knocked on the door, hearing a come in on the other side.

she walked inside with her head down. "what's wrong, mija?" she asked, pausing her show that she was watching. jaelin layed down next to her mom and layed her head on her chest. "¿qué pasó?" she asked again. jaelin sighed and sat up, looking at her mother.

she told her mom everything, from december 23rd to now. how dd's been mad dayroom and how she thinks crystal has something to do with it or she's back in the picture. her mother frowned at her and pulled her into a hug. jaelin hugged her back and played with her mothers hair until they let go.

"i'm sorry, my baby," she said. "it's gonna be okay. y'all have had troubles before but y'all always beat past them. you two will find your way back to one another." she reassured. jaelin slightly smiled and nodded her head. "yeah," she said. "i hope so." she sighed.

her mother brought her into another hug whilst rubbing her back. jaelin pulled away and left the bed and headed back to her room. she sat on her bed, staring at the wall until she unlocked her phone and went to the contacts, clicking on trillys.

she started facetiming him, sighing while doing so. after a couple of rings, the facetime call connected and showed trillys face. "what's up, lil sis?" he said. she just shrugged. "nothin," she blankly said. "nah what's wrong with you?" he asked. she looked at her phone then down at her bed sheets.

"dd." she mumbled. he sighed and sat up in his bed. "what'd he do?" he asked her again. she re-explained everything that she had told her mom to her brother. by the time she was finished, trilly was furious but also upset for his sister. "nah, when i come back i'm beating that niggas ass," he said.

she laughed and shook her head. "noo," she dragged out. "nah i'm just chattin." he said. "wait so why and how did y'all start dating again?" he asked her. "trilly bro i just told you." she said. "i know i know. just repeat that part." he said.

she sighed a rubbed her temples before speaking again. "he's fuckin wit that crystal girl. plus we was just dating to make her jealous, i guess." she said. he frowned at his little sister before rubbing his eyes. "and crystals the girl who's been fuckin' y'all up?" he questioned her. she nodded her head.

"i liked him. i really did. but for him to do that shit was all the way fucked up. but i know you love him, jae. go get yo nigga back before more shit goes down with that girl." he assured the girl. she smiled at the phone and nodded her head. "i'll try, trill," she said. he half smiled and hovered his thumb over the 'X' button.

"i love you, jj," he said. "i love you too." she replied. "safety." he said as he hung up. she grabbed the ponytail holder that was on her bedside table and put her long straight hair in a ponytail and layed down. she opened the groupchat messages with the girls, leaving them on seen and same for ddot and notti.

she put on hbo max and put on the first show she saw to help her go to sleep. she watched the first couple of minutes of south park in the first episode before her vision went black and she was asleep.
