Chapter 6

"huh.. Athy.. What is she doing here.?" grandpa mumbled

"huh.. You know athy..?" that granny who is grandpa's  friend asked him.

" yeah.. She once helped viola  came back home.." grandpa said

" she is such a good girl isn't she..? That's her mom diana.. That lady is also such a good girl.. Sadly god gave her weak heart.. She is always worried about how she is being a burden to her daughter.. And cry about how her daughter is working four part-time jobs along with her studies to support her...she lost her husband at a young age. And that child is so caring and loving . She take care  of her mother in a way which made everyone in the ward get  jealous  of diana. They are so close like sisters.. And always chat like friends.. Diana is always worried about her daughter working hard... Those  poor girls. "

she said.. That's too much information.. But it's surprising..!!.she always look happy so I have no idea she is going through something like this. That's why she look always tired huh.? Four jobs...?! That's crazy..!! How the hell she is managing everything..?

"oh my.. She is such a good girl. I have no idea she is going through something like this.." grandpa said.

"I will pray for her mother to get well soon" grandpa said worried.

" she is better now actually there is a time when even doctors give up on her  But that child cried and begged  the doctors not to give up, she has hope her mom will be alive. They also treated her because of her pleading  and she really got better after the surgery.. It's a miracle even doctors are surprised.."she said

" that's indeed a miracle .. Her hope saved her mom.. "grandpa said smiling.

When we were about to leave grandpa suddenly walked towards her mom's bed and greeted her. She suddenly turned and saw me standing and she looked so shocked.. Just like the first time I saw her.. She talked to grandpa for a while maintaing her normal face then slolwy slid away as grandpa started talking with her mother.

We were walking on the corridor but I don't know where the fuck we are going.?

Huh.. There is a garden like this in this hospital.? I never noticed. When I was looking around she was staring at me.. Looking contemplated.

"don't worry.. My lips are sealed" I said and she sighed.. In relief I think..

"thanks... It's just that I don't want others to talk about my mom.." she said looking worried.

"what do you take me for... Why would I tell this to everyone..?" I asked annoyed. Yeah I am annoyed ...I won't even talk to everyone in class this idiot..

"sorry.. I know... Still... I got worried.. Thanks again" she said..

" hmm.. Actually... You are more cool than I thought" I blurted out and she stared at me surprised.

"did granny told you everything.? Haha.. She always talk with TMI" she said and I nodded a yes.

"even though it's TMI.. I am glad I came to know" I said and she was silent for a while

"why...?" she asked after a while

" or else I wouldn't have known your cool side" i said.

" what's cool in  this?" she asked crossing her hands

" you are always working.. To me anyone who works hard is cool" I said and she stared at me silently then slowly smiled.

" it's not like I didn't heard  this from others before.. But hearing it from you really feels different.. Thanks " she said and smiled.

feels different. Why..? What is different..?

"your friends know right..?" I asked and she nodded  a no which surprised me.

"they know that she is sick but not every  details like you" she said

"now I feel like I really heard something I shouldn't ,even your best friends don't know about this " I said and she giggled.

"aren't you also my friend..?" she asked..

" not as close as them.." I said

"but now we are I think.." she said smiling.. And I felt a bit happy hearing that.

"are we now..? " I asked and she nodded a yes smiling.

" let's go... I have to take grandpa and aunty home." I said as I dragged her inside.

Athy's. P. O. V.

I was so shocked when I saw lucas standing there looking at me with a blank face.. I know he won't tell anyone anything still I felt nervous.. But strangely after talking to him I felt at ease. He didn't treated me differently , show me pity or suddenly turned good. He was still the same lucas and I like it very much...

He casually hold my hand and we  walked back  inside... His hand is big and warm and I felt my heart fluttering.

When we entered, I saw lucas  going out and talking with a middle  aged lady in distant and then came back..ohh I forgot.

"mom.. This is  lucas. My friend"

I said and mom stared at me surprised... I didn't talk to her about lucas so it must be surprising for her.. But lucas looked more surprised. He looked nervous and it look so cute.. Pfft..

"hello aunty. Nice to meet you" he said bowing and mom smiled.

" lucas.. Nice to meet you too. Sorry I was surprised that athy have a guy bestie   It's the first time I am hearing it from her..." she said and he smiled at her.

"it's ok." he said and mom started talking with him and grandpa went out already since it's time for his appointment.

I walked outside and saw that aunty lucas talked to  sitting there in daze.. I walked towards her without knowing myself and she is. Oh my God..!! She is  so injured like someone beat her up... I was about to greet her but she flinched  hearing a voice and  I saw a man walked towards  her mad.. Where did I saw  him before.? Wait.!! Isn't he the one lucas beat up while we were in school..?

As soon as he reached her he slapped her face and I felt so mad. How can he..?he was about to grab her hair so I blocked him.

"tch who are you.? Move away" he said pissed.

P. O. V. Ends...

"huh.. What's she doing?" lucas mumbled making diana turn towards them

"aigoo..i wish she won't beat him up  too much" diana said and lucas  turned toward her confused.

"you know what lucas..My daughter used to be the cutest child in the world. But as she grew up she become a cute faced gangster  girl.. When she started high school, she even learned self defence.. She even  beat up few  guys, I one time had to get her back from police station .. Still she is going around making trouble.. "

diana said and sighed lucas got  surprised then he chuckled."she didn't look like one though" he mumbled

" yeah. That's why guys get fooled by her appearance.. That brat she isn't even dating anyone.. Who will marry her if she  go around beating  up guys..?"

diana said as she cupped her face worried..lucas  stared  at her for a while with a smile

"what..?" she asked

"you are just like her aunty." he said and smiled. She stared at him who is looking at athy with amusement for a while and smiled.

"pfft... She really slapped him.!!" he said and she giggled.

"see.. I told you" she said giggling

"she would glare at me pouting.. But I always found it.. Cute. Am I the only one thinking like that?" lucas mumbled still staring at her.

" nope.. She is.. Like I said she is cute faced gangster"

diana said and they giggled.. Athy entered the room to see them giggling and chatting

" what did you do to him.?" diana asked.

" haah..that aunty asked me not to hit him and they left" she said as she sit on the corner of her mom's bed.

" tch.. I keep telling her to report him but she's not doing that" lucas mumbled frowning.

" hmm.. Let's hope she will soon get done with him and free herself from him.. But she should do that herself that's the only way she can be really free" diana said and they nodded a yes.

" now, Get going.. It's getting late"  diana shooed them out and waved bye to lucas smiling.

"lucas let's meet again" she said smiling

"woah.. Mom... You" athy mumbled pouting.

" yeah.. Sure aunty.. See you" lucas said smiling back.

" let's go..." he said dragging athy out.

"what's with you two..? You guys become so close. Already..?" she asked pouting

" yep .." he smirked.

"where are you staying?" he asked.

" huh.. My house.. Why..?" she asked.

"let's go.. I will drop You. It's late" he said and she stared at him silently as they walked out.

He get on his bike and handed her the helmet..

'athy... You know what. You are the first girl to ride on and first  person to drive lucas' s bike other than him .. 'Cabel told her..

' He never let anyone drive it.. ?! Woah.. what's going on..? ' helena' s words while she teased her  came to her mind...

" what..?" lucas asked as he saw her standing there dazed.

"huh.. Nothing" she said as she put on the helmet and Sat behind him..

Lucas. P. O. V.

We reached her house and she get off

"thanks for the ride.. Are you busy.? If not.. Can you come inside for a bit ?"  she asked smiling..

  I was silent for a while thinking... Should I go or not...?  Alright it's not like I am busy... I get  off my  bike and we  went inside.. I looked around  the house while athy went to prepare something to drink ... huh.. Is that her.? Pfft.. She look so cute even when she was young.. They are staying in this house for long time huh..  jennete and helena.. Their high school graduation  photo..

I was looking around and athy finally came back and we  sit on the couch.

"try this.." she said pouring a pink coloured tea  and it's fragrance was.. Like roses. I tried drinking that and it have a unique taste

" it's.. Nice.. What's this?"  I asked and she smiled. Looks like she like this tea as well

"it's lippe tea.. My mom's favourite..mine too " she said smiling. She should smile more.. She look damn beautiful  but she  always look  tired

"  is it hard for you.?" I blurted out and she was silent.. Shit... I was just thinking about her tired face and it came out then she smiled a little 

" it's not.. Whenever I feel tired I would think of the time when I was so desperate for mom to be  alive  and it would fade away.. Compared to that time.. Nothing is hard.. I am so happy that mom is alive.. So I don't mind working even two extra jobs I just want her to be in good health and happy .. " she said looking  down with a sad smile..

" yeah.. It's better to have someone and do something for them  than being alone and free "I said.

'is he.. Talking about himself.?  His face looks like that.. Even though it's blank I feel like he is referring to himself' athy thought staring at him.

" don't worry.. She would get well soon and come back home.. Hmm.. I feel like she would be the one pouring me tea next time I come here.."

. I said and she smiled brightly. So bright.. My eyes hurt. What's is that halo behind her.? 

"thanks lucas. I hope what you said will happen" she said smiling...

Then we talked for a while and I left when it got too late.. She also look so tired..she waved me bye as I went back.
