Chapter 2 - The beginning

"Do you believe in love?" Hana asked me. "Nope" I replied without a second thought. "But don't you think that you will ever find true love? A love where your heart beats fast and you can't stop thinking about him?" she asked dreamily. "Good joke. There isn't anything like that."

"I do believe in love. And let me promise, one day you will also meet someone like that. Someone who will make you speechless"

I stood there speechless, leaning on the wall and rehearsing what just had happened. Who was that boy? That is a weird day. Ignoring everything, I rushed outside, knowing that my family was waiting for me. "Soo Min!" I heard my mother say after I reached the exit. I turned to my left and saw my mother running to me and give me a bear hug.

"I missed you so much, I am so glad that you are here, with us." Mom said and a tear escaped her eye. "Don't cry mom, everything is fine now" I said not really knowing how to react. Actually, I don't know how to react. I've been living alone for a long time and I barely hug somebody hence comfort somebody. After giving my dad a half-hug, I looked around for Eun hee and Kyungsoo. "Where are Eun hee and Kyungsoo?" I asked dad.

"They are waiting in the car. Let's go" he said and we walked to the parking spot. While dad was putting my luggage in the car trunk, Eun hee came out of the car and came running to me. "Soo Min! You don't know how much we missed you" she said and hugged me. I awkwardly hugged her back and couldn't help have a tingling feeling inside, the feeling of awkwardness. Eun hee had grown up and looked more feminine, she looked like the ideal shy girl with brown straight hair. I had only met her once personally, when I came in Korea 4 years ago, but we had become very good friends. Yes, that's confusing, I had only met this 17 year old girl once, even though she was my sister, but that had some reasons.

Out of the nowhere, Kyungsoo came to us and hit Eun hee in the head. "Aye, don't get too clingy and let her go" he said and dragged Eun hee in the car. He came back and he bro fisted me, for which I was kind of glad for. Even he had changed. He didn't look like a shy high school boy, instead like a fresh college student who was full of confidence.

The entire way back home Eun hee and Kyungsoo were fooling around, while I was just sitting at the side and smiling at them. That made me realize how distant I was from them, even though they were my family. I would probably need some time to get used to it.

After we arrived, I hurriedly went upstairs, in a room where only a bed, closet and shelve were. This was my new room. I laid down on the bed, closed my eyes and crossed my legs, trying to relax for some minutes. Suddenly, I heard my phone receiving some notifications. I looked up and saw that I had gotten 27 new messages from Hana. While deciding if I should open them up or not, I heard someone knock on my door. "Come in" I said and put my phone away. Kyungsoo came in smiled sheepishly at me. "Lunch is ready, come down and let's eat."

"You can go ahead. I'll change and come down in some minutes." I replied and opened my bag to look for some clothes. "Okay" he said and opened the door to walk outside "Hey, I forgot to tell you something. We are going to a new year's party today. Want to join us?" Kyungsoo said and turned around to face me. "Who is coming along?" I asked. "Just Eun hee and me"

"Fine I'll go" I said and Kyungsoo walked away. I changed my clothes and had an awkward lunch with my family. Time flew away quickly, I was just placing my belongings in my room, and so the evening came. I changed into a nice black and gray dress with black stockings and put my hair in a ponytail. Together, we three went inside the car and Kyungsoo drove us to the destination.

"At whose party are we going anyway?" I asked wondering. "Liam. You remember him?" Kyungsoo asked. "Not really. Who was he again?" I asked. "That rich kid, the one who had a crush on you in the past" Eun hee replied. "Oh, this guy" I sighed. Maybe I shouldn't have come. As long as I remember, this guy was pretty annoying in the past.

On the way, we listened to K-pop music. Even though, I never listened to it before, the songs were damn good. One song was called "View" and the other was called "Married to the music". "Odd eye" was also a brilliant song. After we arrived, we went inside and I noticed that the party was too formal. Classical music was being played, there were no sitting places and the worst of all, there was no good food, only small things as a snack.

How lame was this party. I was standing in the corner when Eun hee came to me. "Liam wants to meet you. Let's go" she said and dragged me to him.

After having a chat with him, I realized that he had changed. He was taller, more mature and looked more masculine. "We also have some special guests here." He said and made me curious. "Ah, there he is" he said and walked towards a jung boy. Eun hee and I just followed him. "May I introduce you, this is Lee Taemin"

I looked at him. He was defiantly younger then me. He had black hair which was carefully put at the side of his forehead and a nice aura. "Hello, I am Lee Taemin." He said and smiled at me. I didn't know why but his introduction seemed trained, as if he introduced himself often. "It's nice to meet you, I am Lee Soo Min" I introduced myself. Eun hee who was beside me didn't utter a word. I looked at her and waited for her to introduce herself. "Y-You are Lee Taemin? THE Lee Taemin? I can't believe myself" she said disbelieved. "Eun hee, are you alright?" I asked her.

Taemin started laughing. "Yes I am the one." He said and showed us his bright smile. "Should I know something?" I asked confused. "He is Taemin of SHINee" Eun hee said and suddenly knew who he actually was.

"Oh, you are in the band called SHINee? Eun hee talks a lot of you guys and we also listened to your songs on the way to the party. You guys are great singers" I complimented him.

"Thank you very much. My band member Jonghyun is also here, but I can't seem to find him. Maybe I'll introduce you to him next time." He said. "No, there is no need for that. I don't want to disturb you guys. I'll see you around." I said and left Eun hee, Liam and Taemin to talk.

I walked at the mini bar and looked around. Meeting an idol was defiantly not expected. I was glad that I wasn't really into K-pop because I would have freaked out if I were their fan. I looked at my phone and saw that Hana had send me 77 massages by now. I hadn't looked what she had written to me. I wasn't sure to look at it or not. I mean, nothing is left to talk about, or? I sighed and looked down.

"Would you like something, Miss?" the bartender asked me. "No, I don't want anything" I replied soullessly. "Why not? Just water would be fine" he said and smiled at me which I found creepy. "O-Okay, but only water" I said

He went away and some seconds later he came back, holding a glass of water. He handed it over and inspected it. It did look like water, it did smell like nothing, just like water and it did taste like water. Fearlessly, I gulped the entire glass of water and thanked the bartender.

"Hey, where are you going? Why don't you stay?" he asked devilishly. "What is wrong with you? Have you lost your mind?" I said and started walking away. "Where are you going?" he said and gripped my arm. Suddenly, my mind started spinning and my vision was getting blurry. This bastard probably did something with my drink. I gathered all my strength, took the coke which was next to me, and splashed it in his face.

Everybody was looking at us, this was my chance. I freed myself from his grip and ran away. "Wait" he called but I just ran. When I felt my consciousness getting weaker and weaker I stopped and looked around. There were steps going somewhere up and I followed them. Then I realized that I was actually at the rooftop.

I looked around and saw a bench. Someone was sitting at it, a boy to be exact. I looked and felt like I had seen him before. The same blond hair, the same flawless skin and the same eyes. It was him.

I felt something taking over me and without control, I went to him. He looked up and was a little bit surprised. "So we meet again" he said and showed me a weak smile. "You look pale. Are you alright?" he asked me with suspecting eyes. I just blinked at him. Well, I was about to pass out, I didn't have any energy to speak.

Suddenly, I heard some noise coming. Without thinking, I walked at the ceiling and looked down. I saw some people, including Eun hee and Kyungsoo, were about to start some fireworks. I leaned down to see everything more clearly and heard "Hey, don't lean to close, you'll fall."

Ignoring him, I leaned more and more, until I lost balance. I was falling down and I closed my eyes for the impact of the ground after I would land. I didn't know why I wasn't scared of dying or why I did this idiocy but suddenly I felt sober and conscious. "You Idiot" I heard and opened my eyes. I noticed that I was "Hanging" and wasn't actually falling.

I looked up and saw that he was holding my hand and trying his best to pull me up. He was holding onto my arm tightly, not letting me go. "What were you thinking while doing that?" he asked me and started to pull me up. After he had pulled me up we were only inches apart and he was still holding my arm. "Don't do that ever again"

At that moment the fireworks went on and everybody screamed "Happy new Year!"

Great, what a new start.
