Chapter 10

  "How did you get all these small cuts?" "From the glass shattering in the car." He growled quietly before getting up and leaving the room without a word. I looked down at the wound on my arm and my eyes widened slightly. There was a large, wide gash going diagonally across my left arm. How the hell did that happen falling out of bed?!

  I looked around once more to see if I missed anything the first time. I saw a nightstand beside the bed with a broken edge causing it to be really sharp. Ah. That's how that happened.

  Niall came back in the room with a first aid box and sat beside me on the bed. He gently wrapped his large hand around my wrist pulling it in front of him. He held it, digging through the first aid box as I watched him intently. He took out some peroxide, a bandage, tape, and some neosporn. He put some peroxide on it and I was very thankful that it didn't burn. He placed some neosporin on the bandage before laying it across the wound and taping it down.

  "Thank you." I whispered, looking at his face taking in the beautiful features I have seemed to miss. He looked up meeting my eyes with a slight smile. "Always, darlin'." I smiled slightly despite the fact he called me darlin' just to drive me insane. The way he said always made me smile because it seemed as though it went deep like he'd known me forever.

  Even though we officially met roughly ten hours ago I feel safe around him even with his bad looking appearance. There was a sense of overprotectiveness about him that I can't seem to describe, I guess I have always liked that about a guy.

  I laid back on the bed carefully avoiding my arm as I slid up towards the headboard. I lifted the covers from underneath me and settled myself in underneath them. Niall left the room silently taking the box with him. I sighed contently, slowly drifting off back to sleep until I felt the bed dip beside me. I felt an arm wrap under me lifting me up before placing me back down so that I was closer to the wall. I opened my eyes to meet crystal blue ones watching me.

  "What are you doing?" He chuckled as he slid under the covers, laying down beside me. "I'm going to sleep." He said it as if it was the most obvious thing in the world. I groaned. "Why here?" He smirked and turned his head to look at me. "So you don't do that again." He pointed to my arm causing me to roll my eyes for what felt like the millionth time since we met. "Just stay over there." I gave up because I was too tired and worn out to fight with him about it. He laughed causing me to huff as I turned to face the wall, my back to him.

  Yet again before I fell asleep, he wrapped his arms tightly around my waist pulling me towards his rock hard chest. "For extra safety." He mumbled into my hair, taking a deep breath. I smiled and rolled my eyes at the same time. I finally relaxed under his hold knowing he wasn't going to release me any time soon.

  I fell asleep in someone's arms that I never even dreamed of talking to, with a smile on my face at that.
