Chapter 9

  I heard the quiet pitter patter of rain as it cascaded down the window. I sighed, slowly opening my eyes and looking at my surroundings. I was still at Harry's house. Ugh. I was hoping that was all just a dream, but I guess not.

  I looked out the window. It was still dark outside and rain was coming down hard. The wind was blowing the tree around that was outside the house and the thought of it coming down into my room sent a chill down my spine. I groaned and laid my head back against the pillow curling into a ball with the comforter pulled tightly against me. 

  I slowly started to drift off until I heard a loud crash and boom that made the whole house rattle. I screamed, jumping up out of fright. I wasn't scared of thunderstorms, but that thunder was sudden and surprised me. I fell hard with a thud onto the wooden flooring. A sharp pain went through my arm on the way down causing me to grab ahold of it. I felt a warm liquid seep through my fingers immediately knowing it was blood. I sat up from the floor keeping a tight hold of my arm wondering how I even did that. I tried to stand, but wobbled. What is wrong with me? Why can't I stand up with ease and how did I scrape my arm? These thoughts were interrupted by the door bursting open causing me to jump again. I was tired of people frightening me tonight and was about ready to burst if it happened again. 

  The light flicked on causing my eyes to flutter before adjusting to the light. Niall stood in the doorway looking panicked and worried as he stared down at me. "Are you okay? What happened?" I rolled my eyes in annoyance and tried to stand again. My legs felt like jello and I couldn't seem to stay on them for long. I groaned, slumping back to the floor again. I have no idea why I can't even stand up. 

  I heard footsteps come closer and stand beside me. He repeated the questions. I hid my arm from him hoping he wouldn't notice it. "The thunder surprised me and I just fell out of the bed." He nodded and his eyes darted to my hand that was covered in blood from holding my arm. His eyes widened in surprise. "What the hell happened to your arm?!" I looked around me to see if I could find something that would've explained the cause of the wound, but saw nothing. "I honestly don't know." 

  I looked back into his icy blue eyes that were filled with a genuine concern. Why would he be looking at me like that? He practically kidnapped me for crying out loud! You don't feel concerned for people you kidnapped! Ugh. I swear it's an emotion because I have felt it for years now. 

  I tried standing again and got half way up before loosing my balance once again. I felt a large arm wrap around my waist catching me before I hit the wooden floor for the fifth time. A look of confusion was evident on his face and he set me on the edge of the bed so that my feet hung over the edge. "Why can't you stand up?" He almost whispered, looking deep into my eyes. "I don't know. I didn't hit my head or anything." 

  His eyes scanned down my body reaching my legs, looking over them. "Does your left ankle hurt?" I tried to move it wincing loudly in surprise. "How? What?" I asked confused on how he knew that. "I think it's sprained." Of course it is. I can't just have a normal evening after a party. No, I have to go and get taken against my will and have a sprained ankle. I go to one party at the end of the year and this happens. Why can't I just have some sort of normal life? Maybe I just wasn't cut out for the normal life practically everyone else had. 

  I sighed frustratedly and he removed my hand gently from my arm looking down at it. I was afraid to look down once his eyes widened.
