Chapter Three: Lack of Propriety

22:01, 26 June 2017

"William Turner wake up this instant." Samantha demanded. "Ms. Vida! Where's Elizabeth? Did she escape too?" Will asked as he sat up slowly. "No, the only reason I'm here is because they threw me overboard." Samantha muttered as she helped the boy up."We have to save her!" Will exclaimed before dragging Samantha with him towards the fortress. "William! Turner I demand that you slow down- damn it!" Samantha grumbled as she ran with Will towards where the Commodore and Governor were speaking.

Samantha found herself in a rather awkward situation as she stood next to Will as he started making demands of the royal navy.

"Will maybe we should let the-" "No, the pirates who invaded this Fort left Sparrow locked in his cell ergo they are not his allies. Governor, we will establish their most likely course-""That's not good enough!" Will demanded as he slammed his hatchet into the table.

"William!" Samantha gasped.

"Mr. Turner, you are not a military man, you are not a sailor. You are a blacksmith and this is not the moment for rash actions. Do not make the mistake of thinking you are the only man here who cares for Elizabeth." Norrington  warned as he handed will back his hatchet.

"Commodore, Governor, I apologize for my friends brash actions. We put our full confidence in you and your fleets ability to locate Miss Swann and will be no further hinderance." Samantha soothed the situation as she tugged on Will's sleeve.

"What are you doing! They won't find her in time!" Will complained as Samantha dragged him away from the gathering. She took a sharp turn then another before dragging Will down a dark hallway. "I demand that you stop! We must go back!" Will demanded.

"William! Believe it or not I care for Elizabeth as well. They, however, cannot help us and I have an old friend that can do better." Samantha explained in a hiss as she dragged the man down a flight of stairs.

"Sparrow, get up ya bloomin' cockroach." Samantha demanded as she made her way to the door of his cell. "Aye cap'n!" Jack shouted back, earning an amused chuckle from Samantha. "You are familiar with that ship – the Black Pearl?" Will interrogated hopefully.

Samantha and Jack made eye contact, she nodded her head.

"I've heard of it." Jack relented, earning an eyeroll from Samantha. "Where does it make berth?" Will asked.

Samantha and Jack looked at him incredulously.

"Where does it make berth?" Jack clarified. "Captain Barbossa and his crew of miscreants sail from the dreaded Isla de Muerta." Samantha continued as she moved to stand next to the cage door. "It’s an island that cannot be found," Jack added. "Except, of course," Samantha and Jack made eye contact before finishing together. "By those who already know where it is."

Will looked between the pair, who seemed to work like two pieces of a whole and blinked. Samantha leaned back against the cell door as Jack leaned up against it. "Think about it Turner. Logically." Samantha nudged slightly, with watchful eyes she saw realization flash across his face.

"The ship’s real enough. Therefore its anchorage must be a real place. Where is it?" He asked the pair, earning a grin from Samantha. "Why ask me?" Jack fiegned disintrest and ignorance. "Because you're a pirate." Will stated as though it were obvious. "And you want to turn pirate yerself, is that it?" Jack clarified. "Never! They took Miss Swann!" Will stated, not noticing Samantha staring at Jack as she mouthed his sentence word for word as he did.

Jack narrowed his eyes in false realization. "Oh, so it is that you’ve found a girl. I see. Well, if you’re intending to brave all, hasten to her rescue and so win fair lady’s heart you’ll have to do it alone, mate. I see no profit in it for me."

Samantha rolled her eyes. "Don' be so mean Jackie, yer the boy's only 'ope." "Ah, but not the girl's last hope hey?" Jack countered with a wink. "Aye." Samantha comfirmed with a smile.

"I can get you out of here." Will offered as he stared at the cell door. "How’s that? The key’s run off." Jack inquired.

Will started to speak as he inspected the door, his eyes lighting up in knowledge. "I helped build these cells. These are half pin-barrel hinges. With the right leverage and the proper application of strength… the door will lift free."

"What's your name Mr. Turner?" Jack asked curiously"Will. Will Turner." Will answered. "That will be short for William , I imagine. Good, strong name. No doubt, named for your father, eh?" Jack asked, attempting to prove his suspicions. "Yes." Will answered, unsure as to the direction of the convesation.

Jack smiled victoriously at Samantha who winked.

"Uh-huh. Well, Mr. Turner , I’ve changed me mind. If you spring me from this cell I swear on pain of death I shall take you to the Black Pearl and your bonny lass. Do we have an accord?" Jack agreed with a new found gleam in his eyes.

Will looked to Samantha, who nodded her approval before he sealed the deal with a firm shake. "Agreed."

"Agreed. Get me out." "Ever the simpleton Jack." Samantha teased as she stood back slightly. "Shut it." The pirate snapped as the door lifted free. "Hurry, someone will have heard that." Will, ever the genius, pointed out."Not without my effects." Jack grumbled as he grabbed the pile of leather and weapons.

They ran for a little while, when Jack motioned Will to check a corner and pulled Samantha aside.

"You, my dear, are every inch the amazin' actress I remember you to be." He accused. "And you are just as charmin' as I remember you to be. Cap'n." Samantha hissed as she felt the cold stone in her back. "It seems that we find ourselves in an awkward place as I would be killed if I endangered the-" He cut off at the sharp glare being sent his way, "you, and you are not likely to stay behind." Jack finished in a whisper. "Then I suppose we'll go with who the person of higher authority decides." Samantha suggested. "Great, see you next time I'm in Port Royal." Jack cheered.

Samantha laughed. "I said higher authority Jack, not bigger ego, shall we?"Jack gulped. "Aye."
