Chapter 3

Alex sighed as he walked out the meeting with Stella by his side "God, if he had asked me one more time, what I bring to the table" Alex held up a finger making Stella laugh

Alex looked at his watch then at his partner "I need to get going before I'm late. Are you joining me?" He asked walking out to their cars. Stella shook her head "I have a lunch date" She smiled

"Ah yes" Alex leaned against the top of his car, smiling at her "And when do I get to know this mystery guy?" Stella rolled her eyes throwing him a look "Never"

Alex laughed "See you later Stel" He got into his car and started his way to the track

Derek looked at the clock sighing when he saw it was only 12:45, he still had about 6 hours until he could meet Alex "Morgan!" A ball hit him the shoulder

"Ow?" He picked up the ball and looked at Emily "Yes, Emily?" He asked throwing, the ball back to the dark haired woman. Emily caught it, with a smile "We're all going out for drinks after. You in? Even Hotch is going" Emily asked

Derek shook his head "I have plans"

"Ohh?" Emily sat up, Spencer looked up from his work looking at his co-worker "New girl?" Derek laughed, bowing his head. He licked his lips "No. New guy actually" He told them

Emily and Spencer stared at him with wide eyes "A guy?" Spencer asked, playing with his pen. Derek nodded with a small smile "Yeah. I'm taking him to dinner after work" Emily sat up excitedly "Really? Well where are you taking him?? What are you wearing? Are you picking him up or is he?"

"Emily!" Derek cut her off with a small laugh "I'm taking him to a local restaurant I helped flip 2 years ago. I think he's going to like it.I don't know what I'm going to wear and yes I'm picking him up" Derek answered each question

Spencer smiled at his friend, happy that he's going out and branching his love life "So what's his name?" Spencer asked putting his pen down, Derek turned to his friend "Alexander"

Derek thought for a moment looking around the office "Uh guys, can you keep my date on the down low" He asked fiddling with his pen "I know the rest would be supportive but..." Derek shrugged

Emily gave him an understanding smile "But you want to see where it leads first" She finished for him before nodding "My lips are sealed" She minnicked zipping her mouth shut

Spencer nodded as well "They won't hear it from me" He told his friend. If Derek wanted to keep it a secret until he was sure it was going to last, then the team will not hear about it from him

Derek smiled sighing in relief "Thanks guys" He knew they would support him, just the rest of the team but he wants to be able to enjoy this. It would be his first date with a man ever, and he wants it to be kept a secret for a little while

Alex tightened his holding on his steering wheel as he went around the track "You're doing good. Try to kick it up a notch on the next turn" One of his trainers Liam

"Got it" He said, switching the gears and going faster "How's the new tires holding up?" His other trainer Jamie asked. Alex bit his lip taking a quick look at his speeding gage "I can't, I have to pull out" Alex told them as it became harder to control the car

"Pull in! Alex pull in now"

Alex let up on the gas and moved to the pit stop. "Damn it" He muttered while getting out of the car "What happened out there?" Liam asked as Jamie handed him a bottle of water "The faster I was going the harder it was to control. I think the tires locked up" He told his trainers

Jamie nodded, crouching down to inspect the tires "We'll try a different type tomorrow." She told him, writing something down on her clipboard. Alex nodded taking off his jacket, he looked at the time and noticed it was already 5:10

"Let's call it a day"

Liam and Jamie looked at him surprised, making him roll his eyes. Yes he knows he's usually here past their ending time, but he has a hot date to get ready for and he didn't want Derek to pick him up while he smelled like he just came back from the gym

"Where's the fire?" Liam asked, watching as Alex quickly packs up his stuff. Alex shot him a smile as they started their way to the parking lot "No fire. I have plans"

"Oh, with who? A hot date maybe?" Jamie teased before catching sight of the smile on Alex's face. Her jaw dropped "No way! You have a date and didn't tell me!" She yelled smacking his arm

"Ow" Alex laughed rubbing his arm "And yes I have a dinner date. I have to go, he's picking me up at 7" Alex got into his car "You better call me after!" Jamie yelled as he drove off
