Chapter 2

07:00, 4 July 2024

Alex stood in front of his bathroom mirror fixing his hair as Stella got dressed in his bedroom. The two of them had a business meeting in an hour with one of their investors, if everything goes right, they would be looking into opening another one of their shops across town

"Alex! How does this look?" Stella asked, walking into the bathroom "God, how can you stand it being so dark" She muttered. Alex gave her a look, his bathroom wasn't dark

Yes he liked dark colors in his room and bathroom but he had enough open lighting that it still looked inviting to the human eye. Plus his bathroom had a large window right next to the bathtub facing the woods so no one would be looking in

Alex shook his head and looked at Stella through the mirror "You look nice. I would go for a gold necklace though, not silver" Alex told her. Stella looked at her necklace and nodded

She was wearing a three piece white and gold suit with a skirt instead of pants and white heels

To be honest, she really stood out in the bathroom "You look good" Stella smiled at her partner. If she didn't know that Alex was 100% gay, she would have tried getting with him

"Thank you" Alex smiled fixing the collar of his shirt. He was wearing a black button up, with gray dress pants and his brown and black boots

"Now if I could just fix my hair" He muttered with a huff. Stella laughed and moved towards him "Look at me" Alex obeyed looking at his friend, bending down for her to reach him. Even in heels, she only reached his shoulders

Stella grabbed a comb and hair spray "I don't get why you just won't go with a shorter cut if you don't like your hair" Stella said as she brushed through some curls. Alex rolled his eyes "It's not that I don't like my hair, I love it. I just hate trying to style it for meetings. You know my hair has a mind of its own"

Stella laughed "That I do" She sprayed his hair before stepping back "There. That's better" Alex turned to the mirror smiled, it was better

"Now let's go. I want to stop and get some breakfast before the meeting" Stella said. Alex chuckled "Yes Ma'am"

***

Alex and Stella sat at a table in the back of a small family owned cafe eating their breakfast and talking when Alex's phone went off. Grabbing it, he didn't bother to see who was calling "Knight" he answered thinking it could be one of his crew members

"Yeah, is this Alexander Knight?"

Alex paused making Stella look up at him concerned, Alex shook his head letting her know everything is okay "This is he. Can I ask who's calling?"

"Yeah, this is Derek Morgan. You helped me a few days ago with my car"

"Right, Derek" Alex smiled making Stella roll her eyes and go back to eating knowing nothing was wrong "I thought you forgot about me"

"No, never. I was stuck on a case, but I'm heading back now. I was wondering if you were free for dinner tonight?"

"Hmm, well that depends. What time are you thinking?"

"How about I pick you up at 7? I still have some work to do when I get back"

Alex thought for a moment, this meeting should last until 12, then he's at the track until 5. Gives him an hour to get ready "7 is perfect. I'll send you my address"

"Sounds good. I know a great place that makes the best food. Dress casual"

"I will. See you later"

"Bye" The call cuts off. Alex put his phone away with a smile. He looked back at Stella who was smiling widely at him "What?" Alex asked cautiously knowing that smile can only mean bad things

Stella leaned forward "You have a little crush" She sings making Alex blush a little before clearing his throat "No, I don't" Stella raised a brow making him sigh "Okay maybe, but today will let me get to know him for more than a few minutes"

Stella smiled softly leaning back in her seat "Good. I expect a full update on how this date went, got me? Need to make sure whoever is dating my best friend is good enough"

Alex laughed already knowing how his friend was "Got you"
