———Sasuke received a letter from Kakashi asking him to find someone in the village. Given how vulnerable Sakura was, Sasuke hadn't left her side since they'd arrive. He didn't even want to leave for Kakashi's mission. But Sakura managed to convince Sasuke to go.

Every thirty minutes or so, Sasuke would return to check up on Sakura which she appreciated a lot. He had left not too long ago, leaving Sakura on her own....

Sakura was napping in bed when she was woken up by some people tying her hands together and covering her mouth with duct tape. They pulled her out of bed before dragging her out of the room. Sakura, afraid that they'd hurt the baby, couldn't fight back.

They took her away from the hotel through the back door and through some alleyways before bring her into a small building. Once they were inside, they tied her to a chair and uncovered her mouth.

The second her mouth was uncovered, she spoke, "What am I doing here? What do you want?" she asked.

One of the men stepped up as he signaled for the other people to leave. "We want your child. And hopefully your partner as well." he said, "If my calculations are right, you should be giving birth in three months, yes?"

Just as Sasuke and Sakura suspected, they were being watched. Only this time it was a different, bigger group. "I'm not going to let you take either." Sakura said firmly.

"We'll see about that." the man laughed. "Wait here. But don't get too comfortable. My subordinates will be back soon to transport you somewhere where you won't be found." he said before leaving the room.

Once the man left, Sakura felt the sudden urge to cry. But for the first time, she managed to hold in her tears to focus on getting to safety.

If she waited for Sasuke for too long, he might not track her down in time. So she decided to escape. There was an archway that led into a dark, empty room but Sakura could see some sunlight coming from it. Maybe there was a window that she could get through.

Sakura began to try to untie the rope around her wrist as she scooted closer and closer to the other room. But when she reached the archway, she noticed there was a girl in the back corner of the room.

The girl noticed her too and walked towards her. "Trying to escape will only make things worse for you. Just you wait until I tell the boss about this." The girl said.

Before the girl could grab the chair that Sakura was on, Sakura kicked the girl's shin, causing her to kneel on the ground in pain. Once the girl was low enough, Sakura kicked her in the chest as hard as possible and forcing her to undergo cardiac arrest.

Just like the girl, Sakura fell backwards from the kick but unlike the girl, Sakura was still conscious. Despite how badly her head was hurting from the fall, Sakura was still determined to escape before it was too late. She flipped the chair over to the side so that she'd be able to move. She kicked her legs and shuffled her body in order to move closer to the girl. It was difficult and slow but it worked.

Once Sakura's hands felt the girl's weapon bag, she opened it and pulled out a kunai. Then she used it to cut the rope that bonded her hands together. Now that her hands were free, Sakura was able to move her arms out of the rope the tied her arms and torso to the chair.

After removing all of the rope, Sakura stood up and made her way to the window. Luckily, it was big enough for her to get through. The window was locked so she broke the glass and quickly made her way out.

Due to the broken glass, Sakura got pretty cut up. She was bleeding and as she walked away from the building, she left a tiny trail of blood behind her. She didn't care too much about this though because she wanted to create distance between her and that place in order to give Sasuke more time to find her....

As she walked away, she traveled through alleyways as to not startle any villagers. Sakura walked as fast as she could but the fatigue from everything she'd done earlier was catching up with her.

Knowing that it probably wasn't a good idea to return to the hotel right now, Sakura was walking on the outskirts of the village. She sat down against a wall, too tired and in too much pain to keep moving.

Before tending to her wounds, Sakura wanted to make sure that the baby was ok. All the stuff theat happened could've easily hurt the baby...or worse. Sakura nervously put her hands to her stomach to check on the baby's health.

Sakura let out a sigh of relief as she determined that the baby was fine. Now that she was away from immediate danger, she allowed herself to cry. She was terrified of something happening to her or to Sarada.

—January 22:11 p.m.—

After crying for a bit, Sakura healed her wounds and waited for either Sasuke to find her or for her energy to come back. Just before she decided to leave and find Sasuke herself, one of the men who took her came running her way.

Sakura used the kunai that she took and threw it at the man, hitting him in the shoulder, before trying to stand up. Due to her being pregnant, she struggled to stand from the position she was sitting in.

The man pulled the kunai out of his shoulder just before he got to Sakura. Once he reached her, he grabbed her wrist.

But just before he could drag her away, Sasuke appeared and immediately pulled the man away from Sakura. He landed on his back and before he could get up, Sasuke stepped on his should where his wound was. The guy screamed in pain and used his free hand and to try to try and free himself from Sasuke. "Get off of me!" he shouted.

Sasuke applied more pressure on the man's wound causing him to scream even more. "If I see you anywhere near her again, I'll kill you." Sasuke said before putting the man in a genjutsu. He walked over to Sakura and kneeled in front of her. "Are you ok?" he asked as all of the anger in his face and voice softened to concern.

Sakura smiled and nodded. "I'm ok, Sasuke. Thanks for saving me." she said sweetly. Now that Sasuke was here, Sakura felt all of her worries and fears float away.

Although he saved her, it was his fault that this happened. Not to mention that he didn't come for her sooner. At least, that's what he believed. Sasuke looked to the side, embarrassed. "I should've never left you alone...I'm sorry..." he said.

"Don't say that. We couldn't have known that something like this would happen." Sakura giggled, trying to lighten his mood. "Whatever happened is in the past. But now I'm safe and Sarada's safe. That's all that matters."

"Hn." he said before getting up and helping Sakura stand. "What did they want anyway?" He already had an idea of what they wanted but he wanted confirmation from Sakura.

Sakura looked to the side sadly, "They wanted you...and Sarada..." she said.

Sasuke sighed. During Sakura's pregnancy, he tried to push away the thoughts of Sakura and Sarada being targeted. But now it really couldn't be ignored. Sasuke would have to have a serious talk with Sakura about this later.

Noticing Sasuke's silence, Sakura decided to speak. "Did you find the other people who took me? They seemed to be the people who were watching us." she said.

"Hn. They're either dead or wishing that they were." Sasuke said before walking off.

Sakura followed next to him and held his hand. Sasuke was pretty scary when he was upset; she's had multiple first hand experiences with that. But luckily, he's now directing his anger towards other people for her sake. Sakura has never felt more special and protected.———
