"And the answer goes to, The Team Who Must Not Be Named!" The questionnaire dude exclaims as we answer the fifth right answer in a row.
"Yes!" Cisco exclaims. It was his idea to name our team 'The Team Who Must Not Be Named' and frankly, I don't get it. Cisco said it has to do with a movie named Harry Potter or something.
"Ok, here's the next question. If we get this right, we win," Cisco exclaims as he looks at the tablet.
In a matter of seconds, his face fills with a look of confusion.
"How are we supposed to know the answer to this?" He exclaims. I peer over his shoulder and look at the question.
"Who is the owner of the most powerful media company in the world as of 2018?" I read aloud. Cisco sighs.
"Catherine Jane Grant also known as Cat Grant," Thawne says in my head. He's been doing this the entire time.
"Why do you keep giving me the answers?" I growl at him in my head. I hear him laugh.
I don't want to give the answer but I see how depressed Cisco looks. He takes this way too seriously.
"The answer is Cat Grant," I mumble. Everyone turns to look at me suddenly.
"What? How do you know that?" Cisco questions.
I shrug.
"I read lots of news articles," I reply. Cisco quickly types the answer into the tablet while Barry looks at me suspiciously.
"And the winner of tonight getting 75 dollars worth of coffee is...The Team Who Must Not Be Named!" The questionnaire exclaims causing Cisco to jump up, as excited as a child on christmas morning.
Thawne starts to chuckle in my head. I sigh.
"I'm going to go get some fresh air," I tell them before quickly standing up and walking outside.
I pull my leather jacket that Iris got for me tighter around myself in the chilly evening air. The wind is blowing slightly causing my hair to get in my face slightly.
It has grown much longer since Joss cut it short and now falls down my back in soft curls. It has also outgrown the cheap blonde hair dye and is now back to its normal brown.
I lean against the wall and close my eyes for a second, listening to the dulled sound of voices and music from inside Jitters.
I hear the door open next to me and Barry steps out, looking around till he sees me before he proceeds to stand next to me.
"What's wrong?" Barry asks, breaking the silence.
"Nothing," I mumble, pulling my jacket even closer around myself.
"No, I can see it. Something's been bothering you all night," Barry says as he turns to look at me. I sigh and shrug my shoulders.
"We're worried about you. You haven't been eating well, you have bags under your eyes, you've been distancing yourself from the team. What's going on?" Barry says, concern lacing his eyes and voice.
"Thawne has been on my mind lately." Literally.
"Well, feel free to talk about it to us, about anything," Barry says. I give a small nod.
"I'm going to go inside now, do you want to come with me?" Barry asks. I shake my head.
"I'm going to stay out here for a bit longer," I tell him with a soft smile. He nods.
"Just don't stay out too long. It's freezing outside!" he exclaims in a light tone before heading back inside.
I sigh and lean my head back against the cold concrete wall.
I stand in silence for a bit before my head suddenly starts to pound. I wince and grab it, squeezing my eyes shut.
I start to feel nauseous and dizzy before I feel myself fall over and everything fades away.
......................
I wake slowly to the sound of people talking. I groan and slowly open my eyes, blinking in the harsh light.
I see Barry, Caitlin and Cisco standing next to me, all with worried expressions on their faces.
"What happened?" I ask as I slowly sit up, my head still pounding.
"You fainted. It looks as though it was from extreme exhaustion and dehydration," Caitlin tells me. I furrow my eyebrows. That's weird. I haven't been sleeping well lately but not so much that it could cause 'extreme exhaustion'.
I'll have to ask Gideon about it later.
"Well, I feel a lot better now so.." I start, trying to get out of bed but Caitlin stops me.
"Oh no you don't. You've fainted twice in the past 24 hours! So, you are going to stay in this bed till I give you the all clear, ok?" She says. I nod. Wow, I didn't know Caitlin could be so scary.
"Good," She says before she leaves the room.
"Caitlin can be scary sometimes," I say to Barry and Cisco with a small chuckle. Barry gives me a look.
"She's just worried, we all are. When you didn't come back inside and we went looking for you to find you lying there, unconscious, It was scary," Barry says with a shudder.
I look down. I didn't think about how hard it must've been for them.
"How long was I out for?" I ask curiously. Cisco checks his watch.
"You fainted around 8.30 last night so it's been...13 hours," Cisco answers. I nod before looking at Barry curiously.
"Shouldn't you be at work?" I ask him. His eyes widen as he checks his watch.
"Argh, I'm so late. I have to go guys, bye!" Barry says before speeding off.
"For a guy with superspeed he sure is late a lot," I state, causing Cisco to laugh.
"Yeah," He says before the computers in the cortex start to beep.
"Bank robbery in progress at 5th and avenue. I have to go," Cisco says before racing off, probably to get changed into his suit.
He comes back a minute later, dressed in his suit with his goggles on before he opens a breach and jumps through.
The moment he is gone, I quickly jump out of bed and speed into the time vault.
"Gideon," I call out as I come to a halt.
"Good morning, Raelynn," She answers as she appears.
"Gideon, why did I faint earlier from extreme exhaustion and dehydration?" I ask her.
"It was most likely resulted from Thawne taking over your body," she answers. I furrow my eyebrows in confusion.
"What do you mean?" I ask her.
"As Thawne is taking over your body not only is he able to take control more often, but he is using up a large amount of your body's energy meaning..." She starts but I cut her off.
"I'm also going to be fainting a lot more if I don't make up for the energy lost," I finish for her. She nods.
"Precisely."
I sigh. Great, another problem to add to my list.
"Thank Gideon. Oh, and don't tell anyone about this conversation," I tell her. She nods.
"Of course, Raelynn." She disappears and I quickly speed back to the med bay and into bed.
A moment later, Caitlin runs into the room, out of breath.
"Raelynn, did you see that?" She exclaims. I swallow hard but put a fake look of confusion on my face.
"See what?" I ask her in a confused tone.
"I thought I saw a streak of red lightning just like the Reverse Flash's come in here," She exclaims.
"Uh, I didn't see anything. Maybe you just imagined it?" I suggest. She looks a bit unsure but doesn't have anytime to say anything else as Cisco breaches into the room.
"Wow, I forgot how fun crime fighting is," He exclaims before he goes on to explain everything that happened in his 'epic' fight against two robbers.
I zone out about 5 minutes in, thinking about Thawne before I hear Cisco call my name.
"Rae. Did you hear me?" He asks and I find him now standing next to me.
"Sorry, I zoned out for a bit there. What did you say?" I ask him.
"I said Barry wants me to bring some meta tracking equipment to a crime scene he is working on and I wanted to know if you want to come with," Cisco says in one breath.
"Ahh, sure. But didn't Caitlin say..." I start but he cuts me off.
"She said it's fine as long as you stay by our sides," Cisco answers. I shrug.
"Ok." Nothing like going to a crime scene to get Thawne off my mind.
