09:05, 5 December 2015"Noah Sugg," A male nurse called as we sat in the waiting room, waiting for Noah's first check-up.
I carried Noah as Joe followed behind us.
"Hello, I'm Greg. So, I'm going to weigh Noah and we'll test all his vitals and just give him a check-up to make sure all is well," He explained.
"Okay," I nodded, passing Noah to the nurse.
He followed procedure for the check-up and Noah behaved quite well, except for the shots he was given.
"Shh," I hummed as he fussed and cried.
"Okay, I'm going to let the doctor tell you all the results. She'll be in in a few minutes."
"Thank you," Joe nodded.
Greg left the room and I held Noah as we waited for the doctor to come in.
"Hello, I'm Dr. Fink. You're here for little Noah's check-up, correct?"
"Yeah," I smiled.
"Aw, great. Well, I'm looking at all of the results for everything right now and he seems to be in good shape. You have a strong, healthy, little boy."
"Thank you," I laughed lightly.
"How are you feeling?" She asked me, "All healed?"
"Yes, and I'm good," I nodded.
"That's good. So just make sure to maintain a healthy diet because what you eat ultimately goes into your breast milk," She nodded.
"Okay," I agreed.
"So, everything seems good. Have you been bonding with the baby, yes?"
"Yeah," I nodded.
"Alright! So, you are okay to continue, or start, any sexual activity again, if desired," Dr. Fink continued.
She asked a lot of questions about Noah's feeding schedule, diaper schedule, how he's been sleeping, and acting, etc.
"Well, he doesn't like it when he's not being held. He'll cry until he is held," I explained.
"That is quite normal. As a newborn, he can't be spoiled. Newborns don't realise if they cry a lot, they get held. They cry because they're missing you then. They don't realise yet that you're not leaving, so when they're not being held, they feel as if they've been left alone."
"Okay," I nodded.
Dr. Fink answered any other questions we had before we left.
"Noah, shh," I said as we got in the car.
"I feel as if that's all we ever say anymore, 'Noah, shh,'" Joe laughed lightly.
"True," I laughed along.
"You know what we need?" Joe said.
"What?"
"A baby sling! I don't know why we haven't thought about this before!" Joe suggested.
"Yeah, that would make things a bit easier," I nodded.
"Let's go get one," Joe nodded.
"Now?"
"Yeah, why not?!" Joe smiled.
"Okay," I smiled.
Noah still cried in the backseat as I drove us all to the nearest shopping centre.
"Hush, Noah. We're here," I said quietly as I pulled into the car park.
Carrying Noah inside and Joe hobbling next to us, we went to the nearest baby store. Finding the right baby sling took a while as the store associate had us try different ones on. Thankfully, Noah didn't cry in any of them, except one, but that one was big and bulky anyway. After finally deciding on the right baby sling, we purchased it and then headed home, avoiding a small gathering of Joe's fans that had seen him while we were shopping around.
"Now there's going to posts everywhere on Twitter about my cast," Joe groaned.
"Well, just nention it in your next video," I shrugged.
"Yeah," Joe agreed.
Once we drove back to my flat, because it was closer, Joe sat down and held Noah, until he fell asleep, while I made dinner.
"Once you get that cast off, we should get married," I suggested, putting our plates of food on the table and sitting down.
"Really?!" Joe asked happily.
"I mean, why not? We are always together, we've been engaged for a while, I might as well have your last name," I laughed lightly, "Not to mention we have a kid."
"Well, I didn't know if you wanted to anytime time soon."
"I want to now," I nodded.
"That's great!" Joe smiled happily.
He was obviously giddy about the idea.
"Now I want this cast off now!" Joe laughed.
"Remember when we first met?" I asked.
"Yeah?"
"I thought you didn't want to get married?"
"I always thought that maybe I wouldn't get married. I mean, how could you find someone that you would want to spend your whole life with? Or atleast that how I thought, but I guess I didn't know how much I'd love you," Joe shrugged.
"Aw," I blushed.
"No, like I'm serious. We're everybody's relationship goals!"
"Oh, shut up!" I laughed.
°
"Joe! We're meeting up with my mum and James for dinner," I said, "And you need to look nice. James is choosing the restaurant."
"Okay," Joe nodded.
I went to go start the shower.
"Mm, can I join?" Joe smiled.
"Of course. Is Noah asleep?" I smiled.
"Yeah," Joe nodded.
I stripped off my clothing and got in the shower, Joe joining me after putting the bag over his cast.
"We haven't done this is a while," Joe smiled, giving me a kiss.
"It always reminds me of my birthday in Miami," I blushed.
"Mhm, we need to go away again," Joe winked playfully.
"We have Noah," I smiled, washing my hair.
"Yeah, I know. Well maybe we'll need to take your parents up on their offer of taking Noah for an evening," Joe smirked.
"Yeah," I smiled, biting my lip and looking up at him, "Don't worry, knowing my mum, she'll offer again tonight."
"Speaking of which, we should get ready for," Joe laughed.
I agreed and we hesistantly got out of the shower and got dressed. I wore just a plain black cocktail and blow-dried my hair and lightly curled it a bit before putting on a small amount of make-up.
"Now to awaken the dragon," Joe laughed.
"Oh shush," I laughed, picking Noah out of the bassinet and changing him into some 'nicer' clothes, rather than a cotton onesie.
Noah did, in fact, wake up but he kept calm as I carried him around. Joe restocked the baby bag and then we headed out to meet up at the restaurant James suggested.
"D.amn," Joe nodded as we pulled up and a valet took my car.
"We're meeting people already here, Stephens?" I said to the front desk.
"Yes, right this way."
"Minx, how are you?" James smiled.
"Hello, I'm great, thank you. Where's my mum?"
"Oh, she ran off to the loo," James said quietly.
We sat down and I held Noah on my lap, cradling him gently.
"Minx! Joe! Oh, and of course, Noah!" My mum smiled as she arrived back at the table.
"Hi," I smiled.
"How have you both been? It's been almost a week since we've seen you. Haven't you had Noah's first appointment since then?"
"Yeah, it went well. Doctor said he's healthy and gave him a few shots," I nodded.
"That's good," My mum nodded, "Can I hold him?"
I nodded, passing Noah to my mum as she cradled him in her arms.
"Please let us watch him again sometime soon?" My mum practically begged.
As she said that, I rested my hand on Joe's thigh and gently squeezed it, as if saying, "I told you so."
"Whenever works for you," I shrugged.
"Hm, how about tomorrow? After that we're busy almost every night for another week," James said.
I looked at Joe, who shrugged, and I agreed.
We ordered our food and ate. This restaurant is so posh, it almost makes me feel a bit uncomfortable.
"We'll see you tomorrow afternoon, yeah?" My mum smiked as we all waited outside for the valets to bring our cars around.
"Yeah, I'll text you," I nodded, giving her a hug and Joe and I got in the car after buckling up Noah.
"Love you!" My mum smiled as James spoke the valets and we drove off.
"Oh my God. That was so delicious but I feel like I can finally breathe without being judged. That restaurant was insanely fancy," Joe breathed as I drove us back to his flat.
"I know," I agreed, groaning.
"Let's get to bed, I'm tired. Being a parent is tiring work," Joe laughed.
"I agree!" I laughed.
Joe leaned over and gave me a kiss on the cheek, while I focused on the road and tried to ignore Noah's cries from the back-seat.
