Chapter 5

I get out of a Rolls Royce to the most popular historical landmark in Switzerland, Chateau De Chillon. It's an annual presidential garden party to acknowledge each of the most popular landmarks in the country and this year's theme is an afternoon party. The government chose Chateau's garden as the location. Most important people in the world are invited to this. I am so excited to represent my law firm. I button up my double breasted navy YSL suit when I go downstairs from passing the chateau to the garden.

When I walk into the crowd I spot the most important people in the world standing in front of a beautiful lady with long black hair and bangs wearing a one shoulder pink short tube dress. I was thinking she's beautiful, no wonder my twin brother enlightened her this afternoon. I walk to him with a big smile. It's been six months since I've been busy with new defamation trials I've been preparing and going to, so I really need my brother to light me up.

BANG! BANG! BANG!

My eyes widened, we all heard three gunshots. I saw the pretty lady in a pink dress covered in some blood spots, it's from Taehyun's body. What just happened? I tried to run from the stairs to him. I saw the girl try to cover his chest to prevent the blood from spreading more. The crowd bumping into me makes it so hard to run or try to walk. I have to go to him! My brother! Please God, don't do this to him! I was finally bumping hard against the crowd to make it on time to save him.

The girl in a pink dress suddenly got carried by two tall men who held her by her arms, probably her bodyguard. She is screaming out loud trying to release the grip but one little lady versus two tall and big men? no way she'll win. When that girl was carried out with a crowd, I finally arrived at my brother's sprawl.

"Taehyun!" I called his name while enveloping his shoulder to put him on my lap with my knees down. "No, no, no, oh god please no!" I start sobbing when I see my hand covered in blood. Taehyun suddenly opened his eyes.

"Tae---hyung?", "Yes! It's me! Please open your eyes until someone helps us, HELP! PLEASE SOMEONE HELP!" There's a group of men circling around us to protect us. "Sir, the ambulance arrives in five minutes. We need to carry Mr. Taehyun Kim to go back inside the chateau." When one of the men finished talking there's paramedics with a gurney running to us.

I released my grip to him and they carried him in a gurney. I sit beside him in an ambulance, I hold Taehyun's hand while my teary eyes cover half of my sights. "Taehyung?", "Yes, yes! i'm here!", "Taehyung" He cupped my cheek like he was trying to remember my figure before he closed his eyes. "Taehyun! don't you dare to close your eyes!" I remind him between my sobs.

"Good thing all the bullets aren't stuck in important parts,he could still breathe well but we can see all his body getting sore." One paramedic explained to me and I just nodded. "It's not hurt brother, don't worry." Taehyun tries to calm me down but it's clearly not working. "Dammit! it's a bullet for pete's sake!" I nagged at him.

"Tae, please promise me something. After this, hide me from Lisa, she's too precious to fall into my mess." I definitely am not familiar with the name. "Who's Lisa--"

BAM!

The ambulance flipped around many times, all of us inside the ambulance rolling around hitting many pieces of equipment. Someone shot us with a big weapon that looked like a bazooka below the ambulance. When the ambulance stopped flipping with its door open, one paramedic and Taehyun jumped out onto the streets. I cannot feel anything, I can't move my body. It's all hurt to every core of my body. I lay inside the ambulance that overturned, my sights getting blurry with my last view. I witnessed Taehyun lay on the street covered in more blood. I couldn't save him, I couldn't save us.

Taehyung jolted up from his bed. He got so sweaty all round his face, his breath uncontrollable, and his hands got trembling. He scans around his bedroom and only sees a dark room with a city lights view. He looks at a clock on a nightstand beside his bed, it's 3am. Damn! this nightmare again. He quickly dialed a number on his phone, after two rings he heard a voice.

"Hey Taehyung!" Taehyun seems fine, it's a relief.

"Hi, I just want to check up on you." Taehyung's hoarse voice makes Taehyun realize he just woke up.

"Are you just waking up? isn't it around dawn in New York? you have a nightmare again, don't you?" Taehyun knows when Taehyung called whenever he woke up from his sleep that means he had a nightmare. Taehyun doesn't know until now what the nightmare is, Taehyung never told him and Taehyun thought he was just being all clingy.

Taehyung can't tell him the truth about his nightmare because it'll worry him. Taehyung always had a nightmare and called him right away after he woke up, already worried him so much, Taehyung doesn't want him to remind Taehyung with his own worst accident again. Let Taehyung overcome this by himself.

"Yeah, sort of." Taehyung scratches the back of his neck and holds it because it's kinda sore from not getting enough sleep. "Hey, you know what you need to do? find a girlfriend! at least there's someone who can hug you to get you away from a nightmare."

"Well i kinda did--", "Not some girl you pick up from a bar to your apartment, dumbass!" Taehyun cut him off and made Taehyung chuckle. "Seriously, you need to grow up man, it's just a nightmare, it's not real, if you have some kind of lucid dream just go to the doctor." Taehyun suggested. Well, Taehyung already got a doctor back in Switzerland and his doctor gave him a medicine to remedy it, sometimes it works. He stopped taking it for a month since he forgot about it at the moment.

Jennie is the reason why. He felt peaceful when Jennie came to his mind, from their meeting in his bar and their makeout session in her office. Strangely, even if she rejected him and got ignored by her, those nightmares are gone because his mind is full of Jennie from good to bad. It's like a challenge he's interested in.

He admits after Jennie barged into his office for the first time, he found her interesting because of her brave attitude to her superior but he knew why she did that. He knows she deserves to be chief legal officer but her departure makes the board meeting need a new candidate immediately.

When one of Omnicom's legal team in Switzerland approached him while partying in a club, he didn't know he's one of Jennie's staff. He said since the current candidate is on leave for a long overseas schedule the board is getting impatient, so after the Taehyun accident and he already came back to Korea for outpatient treatment there, he took an opportunity to call Omnicom and asked about that job opening.

Omnicom was interested in Taehyung's background to build his own law firm in Switzerland and had a high reputation in the span of three years with so many big cases they carried. Taehyung got his lawyer blood from his parents. His dad is a police captain in Daegu and his mother is Canadian who works as supreme court judge in Toronto.

They meet when a foreigner from Canada in Korea is accused of stealing from one of the skin care shops, coincidentally Taehyung's mom in there and she's a defense attorney at that time. After their mom left her job to lived and getting married, she was pregnant with a twins and a daughter. As time goes by, they always got into big fight so decided to get divorce and their mother get back to Canada become a lawyer again until now she's a supreme court. The twins lived with their father while the youngest daughter live in Toronto.

When he met Lisa yesterday because Mrs. Hopkins ordered him to supervise her, Taehyung realized this girl who Taehyun refers to. Lisa was surprised to see him too, but they kept a straight face to prevent too much drama. Lisa got so upset and was being a bitch around Taehyung. 'What's wrong with all women in this office? At first Jennie thought he's an annoying and repulsive jerk for acting whatever he likes, but now Lisa hates him for no apparent reason. He's not realize Lisa and Jennie are best friends, of course Lisa is on Jennie's side whatever the drama is about.

Taehyung wakes up late from his nightmare, he checks his phone but for three days he doesn't get Jennie's text, clearly she's avoiding him. Today is his first day working side by side with Lisa. He is a little bit anxious because he has no idea why Lisa is like this but since he knew earlier this was Lisa that Taehyun talked about, he wants to tell him the truth why his brother just left like that.

Taehyung has to keep his integrity as a cold arrogant boss so everyone still respects him, so he knocks Lisa's office door. It's wide open so he just shows up with a smirk on his face and looks at Lisa on her desk examining some files. Lisa looked up and rolled her eyes. "What do you want?" She said with disgust.

"You know why I'm here, don't act stupid." Taehyung teases her while sitting on her couch. "Ugh, here" Lisa put a stack of files on the edge of her table close to a couch Taehyung is sitting on. "It's all my contract, I don't want to tell all these people there would be other PR to take over their project, you do it yourself, you're the one who supervises me who will or will not work with me." Lisa sounds irritated.

"That's not how it works Ms. Manoban, I'm here as an advisor if the deals contain honest and good reputation companies, you signed five random companies and most of them it's just small businesses who have possibilities that couldn't afford us in the end with their unstable profits." Taehyung explained.

"And that's why I'm here to help until my last blood, to help those people not suffer." Lisa replied with wide eyes and gritted her teeth. "Don't be hot-headed, you can't be that hard-working, people like that used to do it just to get out of something or finding distraction." Taehyung nonchalantly said it while spreading both of his hands on the couch looking comfortable.

"Ugh you sound like your brother." Lisa mumble but Taehyung can read lips since he's a lawyer he tends to identify witnesses or suspects who lied or not and as he gets used to it sometimes he can read their lips mumbling. "You know who I am , why act like you hate me."

"I do know you, that's why I hate you." Lisa spat out, Taehyung just chuckled.

"Don't put your resentment of my brother to me, doll."Lisa widens her eyes, Taehyung looking at her with arched eyebrows. "You do know that we both know each other, right?" Lisa just froze in her chair but still confused with the word 'resentment' . "What are you talking about? i'm not resent Taehyun at all, we were nothing." Clearly she felt disgusted by Jennie's story. Lisa and Taehyung have different perspectives.

"Good part is that you have beautiful big brown eyes, but the bad part is that your big eyes can't hide that you lie." Taehyung smirked and winked at her. When Lisa and Taehyung had a staring contest somebody interrupted them.

Knock Knock

Lisa snaps her head to the door, she is taken aback that Jungkook visits her in the office. Jungkook looked at Taehyung and looked at Lisa again, kind of confused. "Uh, am I interrupting something?" Jungkook arches his eyebrows because deep inside he can feel heat between them but he doesn't know what it is and he isn't liking it at all.

"Uh hi! Jungkook? what are you doing?" Lisa stood up still stuttering. "Uhm, it's been two weeks since we last saw each other. I think I want to give you a surprise visit but apparently I'm the one who felt surprised." Jungkook gives her a cold stare and Taehyung just sits comfortably playing with his fingers, not interested in their conversation.

"No! no, it's nothing. but uhm, let me introduce you to our CLO Mr. Taehyung Kim. He's been here for more than two months now." Lisa approached Jungkook and confused why Taehyung was not standing up when she clearly said his name. "Mr. Kim?" Lisa was a little bit firm saying his name. Taehyung finally moved his head to them and noticed they talked about him, he stood up and offered his hand.

"Oh, me? yeah hello, my name is Taehyung Kim." He gave Jungkook a genuine smile but Jungkook was still suspicious. "Yeah, I'm Jungkook Jeon." Taehyung furrowed his eyebrows, feeling familiar with the name. "As in Junghyun Kim's grandson? from Jeon-Kim tech industries?" Taehyung arches his eyebrows because he knows the Jungkook family, specifically Jung Hoseok and his cousins. They went to high school together.

"Yes." Jungkook replied. Lisa can feel her office getting tense because of these two guys. "Uh, Jungkook, can we talk outside? Mr. Kim, please wait here for a moment." When she and Jungkook were about to leave her office, the phone suddenly rang so Lisa quickly picked up her phone before going with Jungkook. It's Jennie.

"Hi unnie, what's up?", "Oh? actually i'm in my office and Jungkook came by." "Okay Jennie Kim, i will keep that in mind, by the way your boss is in here start supervising me." Lisa looked at Taehyung while rolling her eyes. "Okay, bye, take care unnie!"

Taehyung suddenly turned his head to her, shocked that Lisa knew Jennie and seemed close because she was so thoughtful for Jennie. For all this time he tries to find a way to approach Jennie, at least have a talk when his answer is in his nose. Lisa exits her office and gives him a disgusted face but Taehyung looks at her with a huge smirk. 'Maybe i can make an agreement with this doll" Taehyung thought looking through Lisa's office window to Lisa and Jungkook talking in the hallway near a window to the city view.

Taehyung waited like thirty minutes in there, he was just roaming around his phone exploring his social media. He wonders why Lisa took so long to talk in private about their personal stuff so he looks back from the couch to a hallway where they have a talk and he clearly can see Jungkook's disappointed face and Lisa is about to cry. After a while he observed them all of sudden Jungkook left with an angry face with Lisa statue in her spot.

He's back focusing on his phone again when he sees Lisa turn around walking to her office. "Lovers quarrel I observe." Lisa goes to sit at her desk and pretends to not care about him. "Go dealing with your own love life, Mr.Kim"

"Oh but Ms. Manoban, since you talk about it, I have something to offer." Lisa furrowed her eyebrows not liking any words Taehyung said. But she finally listened to all the explanations, Lisa seemed intrigued but also scared.

"How could you know?" Lisa widens her eyes. "That's the reason why Mr. Hopkins sent me here to at least supervise and sue if somebody hurt you."

"Are you for real?" Lisa disbelieved.

"Yes." Taehyung sternly said it.

"Do you really like Jennie unnie to make a deal like this with me?" Lisa still does not believe why she should help him chase her unnie.

"Well if you still want to know who Jungkook's stalker is." Taehyung nonchalantly replied.

"Unnie's gonna kill me." Lisa groaned.

"But at least you got your sexual life back again." Taehyung said Lisa glared at him. Taehyung doesn't know why he's desperate to make him plead to Lisa but he wants his goodnight sleep back.

Lisa:

He's in Harlem sometimes, Jimin just texted me he's nowhere to be seen if Jungkook wants to be alone he's going there.

Taehyung stands on the entrance door of Harlem Tavern. He roams around the bar to search for Lisa's guy.  There he is staring at his cold beer in front of a bartender and girls around him try to make a move. He approaches him quickly to make all those girls back off.

"Ladies, if you guys don't stand ten feet away from Mr. Jungkook Jeon, forgive me. I should call off your ladies' night to send a picture of you guys harassing Me. Jeon to one of your boyfriends." Taehyung knows 1 of 5 girls or any girl group always has a boyfriend, every girl must have one in every group.

"Ugh, such a jerk '' One of the girls mumbled and rolled their eyes. Jungkook is still unamused with the scene he heard, he doesn't care but thanks to this random guy who saved him from loud flirtatious girls.

"For a sad person, a crowded bar is not the best place." Taehyung sat beside him searching for a bartender to order some beer. Jungkook just stays quiet, still busy with his peanuts in front of him not knowing it's Taehyung.

Taehyung decided to continue talking. "If Lisa sees an earlier scene, she probably grabs those girls' hair until they kneel to the ground for her." Taehyung took a peanut in front of Jungkook to join.

Jungkook turned his head and smirked, he couldn't believe Lisa dragged Taehyung into their problem. "Oh you can tell Lisa if she pulls a stunt again I might get some with one of those in the future."

Taehyung chuckles at his assumption, well he's not wrong though but Taehyung should be cool if their deal is supposed to be successful. "You can tell her yourself Mr. Jeon."

"Jungkook is fine." Jungkook cut him.

"Hei Gunter, what's today's special?" He asked the bartender who passed by to clean the glasses.

"Oh hey boss! it's your shift? Carl isn't here by the way, we have Cedar Smoked Manhattan today, want some?" He asked. Jungkook arches his eyebrows 'Boss'? 'Shift?' Who is he?

"Nah i'll have a scotch." The bartender just nodded.

"I'm an investor in half of the bar in New York, Jungkook. I supervise most of it." Taehyung reasoned out. He is glad he met the bartender he usually has a drink with every time he's here so he can make excuses.

"Oh, good to know." Jungkook just shrugged.

"So that's why Lisa is overworking these days, her boss makes me babysit your girl by the way, your girlfriend is an annoying childish woman." Jungkook chuckled.

"As if she's mine", "Why wouldn't you make her yours then?" Taehyung suggested. "Stick your nose in your ass Mr. Kim."

"Taehyung just fine, by the way did you notice one of those girls hitting on you always following you around for these past weeks from bar to bar you've been visiting?" Taehyung opens with direct conversation.

Jungkook takes a look again at a bunch of girls sitting and laughing on the booth in the corner, he notices there's one particular girl he always felt like he knew. Her shoes, Jungkook always take a look girls who hitting on him by only look down just to confirm is it a girl or guy. There's couple of times when he notices a white converse with wine stain on her left shoe when a group of girls approach him.

He can't see clearly but he has an idea. He turns his body around pretending to be roaming the bar with his eyes and holds his phone like he's texting when actually he opens a camera and zooms in to maximum and turns his phone to their booth. He scans their table for red wine and when he takes a look more down to her feet there it is, red wine stain on her left shoe.

Taehyung observes what Jungkook is doing, he smirks because Jungkook realized he was true. "I told you, so any girl you get suspicious of?" Taehyung decided to interrogate him again. "Blonde chic girl with white converse." Jungkook turned around again to drink. Taehyung leaned a little bit and saw it too.

"Huh, somebody got obsessed with you , maybe she's the one." Taehyung jokes to him.

"Don't." Jungkook's cold tone can indicate that he's angry. "Just don't Taehyung, even if i had a fight with Lisa doesn't mean i'm just like you who got tempted to seduce somebody moreover someone who has a boyfriend probably." Jungkook emphasized a recent meeting  at Lisa's office today when he heard Taehyung called her 'beautiful big brown eyes' and 'doll', it pissed him off.

"Huh, you think I flirted with your girl? I admire Lisa's beauty but I prefer a feisty girl and apparently she hurts me and makes me even want her more. It's an addiction I must admit." Taehyung starts by telling his story to make him talk too and apparently he opens up to Taehyung too.

After two hours talking to each other, Taehyung finds an answer Lisa has been looking for and Taehyung convinces Jungkook to trust Lisa of what she did.

Kim Taehyung:

Hey bratz doll, girl wears white converse with red wine stain on her left shoes. I observe she's blonde and bare faced. I will take a look at a couple of bars Jungkook visited tomorrow. Any news from Jennie?

Lisa:

Today she got a call from the HR team.

It's rare and suspicious.

Kim Taehyung:

Yeah, all the HR team goes straight to me everytime.

Okay, good to know, thanks.

"You want to quit?" Mrs. Hopkins asked her. This morning, Jennie and Mrs. Hopkins met at Mrs. Hopkins office because she got an email from the HR team that Jennie Kim is quitting and she already gave them one month's notice.

"I think my staying here got me nowhere, I already wasted a chance being CLO when I left for Switzerland, there's going to be another year for my promotion."Jennie lied when the reason why is, she wants to get back to court. She realized staying here for comfort and half of her comfort in Taehyung was not right, she wants a challenge. She's going to build her own law firm again.

I decided to make a chapter on Taehyung's POV.

I'm more concern to all photo leaked while Jennie and Taehyung in New York but i'm glad they're doing okay with Taehyung's post on weverse with lovely emoticons and happy Jennie on rehearsal and their performance. I hope they can overcome this!
