Waffles

"Sugar we're going down swingin"

I open my eyes and slam the "off" button on my alarm clock.

I checked the time.

"6:45 a.m." I mumble to myself. "Great."

I slowly roll myself out of bed and head straight into the bathroom for my morning routine. It was my first day of school here, and I wanted to look somewhat presentable.

First I brushed my teeth, and then washed my face. I took a shower the night before, so I didn't need to shower now.

After I did that, I went into my room and changed into my outfit for the day. I decided to wear the My Chemical Romance black parade t-shirt from Hot Topic and some white ripped jeans, with my black and white Vans.

I straightened my hair and teased it a little to give it some volume. After that, I did my makeup.

I decided on some neutral colored eyeshadow and a winged eyeliner. After that, I applied eyeliner on the bottom of my eye and applied a nice coat of mascara to my top and bottom lashes.

"Imogen, are you ready? Breakfast is done."  My mom called to me from downstairs.

"I'm here!" I say as I'm running down the stairs, with my black backpack in hand.

"Here, have some waffles."  My mom hands me a plate with two waffles and some cut up strawberries, and after hands me a glass of orange juice.

"So, I'm taking your car, right?" I double check with her once I'm done with my breakfast.

"Yeah, you can."

"Okay, thanks mom. I gotta go or I'll be late. Love you."

"Love you too, be careful and have fun!" Mom tells me while she  gives me a hug. 

"I will. Thank you."

And with that, I was headed to West Grove High School.

I stared up at the school and sighed deeply.

"Let's do this."

I walked into the school and headed straight to the main office. I knew where everything was because I took an online tour of the school yesterday.

Once I got there, I went up to the secretary.

"Excuse me, I'm new here, my name is Imogen Beckham, and I need my schedule." I asked the secretary as nicely as I could.

"Oh okay, yes let me pull up your file." She replied and got to work on her computer.

After about two minutes, she handed me two papers.

"This first one here, is your schedule. This tells you what classes you have and where they are. It also says your locker number and combination. This second page is a map of the school,  so you can get around easier."

"Thank you."

"You're welcome, have a wonderful day here at West Grove."
