Chapter 30

02:51, 20 February 2014

I woke once again to my alarm. Only have to bare one more day of early mornings and then I'm free of this hell hole. I got up and got in the shower. Once I was ready for school I checked my phone. I had texts from Alli, Sam and Cameron.

Alli: LAUREN ELLA MILLER WE NEED TO TALK!!!!

Sam: Your boy friend is out of control!

Cam: I heard what happened, are you okay?x

At least Cam was on my side or at least cared about me. I walked downstairs and grabbed a pop tart, Trey appeared in the doorway of the kitchen. "Ar-" "Let's go." I cut him off and walked out to his car, he followed me. We got into the car and drove to school without saying a word to each other.

"Thanks." I said quietly as Trey pulled up. "Lauren?" He stopped me before I could close the door. "Don't do anything reckless, I don't want you hurt." "I'm not going to." "I love you baby sister." I half smiled at him. "I love you too big brother."

I grabbed my bag and walked over to Abby and Jess. "Hey guys." I smiled. "You kissed Sam!" Abby shouted. "No I never!" "You know how much I like him! Why would you do this to me?!" She stormed off, Jess followed after her. I sighed.

I felt arms around me, I hugged them back. I have no clue who it is but I really need a hug. "Don't cry." Cam's voice soothed. I held onto his shirt tightly as I tried to fight back anymore tears. Cam leaned back and dried my cheeks.

"What did he tell you?" "You guys kissed, Cody caught you and then beat his ass." "What?! None of that happened, we nearly kissed but who says I was going to actually kiss him? I was caught in the moment and wasn't thinking." "You were vulnerable."

"Cody stopped him before he could kiss me and Cody didn't touch him, everyone came back and sent Cody inside." "That's not what his face says." Cam looked over my shoulder, I turned around. Sam had a black eye and a fat lip, he also had cuts on his face.

I gasped and ran over to the guys. "What happened?!" I asked. "That guy is crazy! That's what happened!" Sam shouted. "Woah, woah, woah! You were trying to get with his girl." Jack stepped in, Sam walked off.

"I'm so stupid." I started to cry. "Hey, no you're not! You were obviously not thinking and no one but Cody can control what Cody does." Dan hugged me, I cried into his chest. The bell went after a few minutes. "Wanna skip first period?" Dan offered, I nodded.

"Just don't get us caught." He joked, I laughed slightly. "Come on." He took my hand and led me to his car, we both got in. "Where are we going?" "Just down the road, out of sight." He started the car, I buckled in.

After school was over I sat on the grass with Cameron and Sam to wait to be picked up, I heard a car. I looked over at it. Cody's car. "Perfect." I said sarcastically and stood up, Cam stood up too. "Where are you going?" He walked towards Cody's car.

"Just wait there!" He shouted over his shoulder. I watched Cody get out of the car, the two of them started to talk. Cody didn't seem mad for some reason. It was suprising considering I was with Sam.

A few minutes later I got up and walked over to the car, I got in and buckled up. Cody and Cameron stopped talking and Cody got into the car. He looked at me, I looked at him. "Are we going to talk?" He asked. "Take me home." I simply said and to my suprise he started the engine.

He didn't say anything while he drove, I watched him. "You didn't tell me you beat him up." I said quietly, Cody looked at me and then back to the road. He pulled over and stopped the engine. "I didn't think you needed to know." "You mean you thought I would of been even more mad?"

"I knew you would of been." "Why did you follow me home?" "I wanted you to be safe, it was dark." "I was with Sam, I was safe." "Remind me to get him to care for you more often." He started to get mad, I didn't say anything.

"I didn't kiss him." I looked out the windscreen. "I know." "Why did you accuse me of it then?" "I was mad." "I'm sorry." He looked at me, I looked at him. "I don't know if I would of kissed him or not, Cody. I was going to cheat on you!" I started to cry.

"But you didn't baby, like you said. You don't know if you would of, you were vulnerable and upset so you weren't thinking straight. I know you love me and I know how much this is troubling you, the sparkle in your eyes has disapeard. I hate it." He wiped my tears away with his thumb.

"I do love you." I put my head back on the head rest. Cody leaned over and kissed my cheek. "Do you still want me to take you home?" He sat back in his seat. "No." I wiped my tears away. He started the engine again.

I rested my head on the window as he drove along. "Where are we going?" I asked. "Don't worry about that." After about ten minutes we pulled up to a massive feild, I looked at Cody. "Don't ask, just follow." I did as I was told.

I followed him to a tree at the bottom of the feild, there was a tree house. Cody climbed up and sat down, I followed him and sat next to him. "What were we saying?" He looked at me. I shrugged. "I don't like you being so quiet." He kissed my temple.

"I'm not happy with myself." I confessed. Cody slid me around inbetween his legs and put one of my legs either side of him. "I'm not interested in what happened last nigh, it's the past." He leaned his forehead on mine.

"Is Alli mad at me?" "She was, I told her you kissed him." "Why?" "I was mad, I told everyone who asked me that you kissed him." "He did the same." I looked down. "Baby, don't pay attention. You only have one more day at school with him."

I wraped my arms around his neck. I layed down bringing Cody with me. "Kiss me." He whispered, I looked at his lips and then back to his eyes. They were already closed, I crashed my lips into his. I felt him smile into it.

Our lips moved together, I moved my hips against Cody's. "I thought you said no more?" He asked as he pulled away. I smiled and kissed him again, he laughed as he kissed me back. "How did you find this place?" I sat up, Cody layed with his head on my lap facing me.

"You see that house over there?" Cody pointed to a small house in the top corner of the feild. "Yeah.." "Well, me and my friends found that house a few years back. No one's lived there for years, it's completely abandoned." "Seriously?"

"Yeah, there's spider webs everywhere. All the furniture and stairs are falling apart, everything put one thing. A piano. The piano is just dusty, it's not broken at all." "That's spooky." I didn't move my eyes from the piano. "That's what we thought, we also found this tree house."

"And you're the only one who comes here anymore?" "Yes." "How come?" "We had a sleep over in the house one time and we were telling scary stories, everyone got really scared of coming here because when we were telling the stories the door flung open and something fell off the wall." I shivered at the thought.

"How do you still come back here? I would be terrified." I confessed. "I guess I know it was just the wind, everyone else is convinced it was a ghost. I know it wasn't." He shrugged. "What do you do when you're here?"

"When I'm angry or upset I like to be alone so I come here to go through my thoughts, I also bring my guitar and write when I come here." "That's amazing." "I've never brought anyone here since the sleepover so if you tell anyone about this I will murder you." I looked at him and giggled.

"I won't." "Our secret?" "Our secret." I leaned down and kissed his nose. "Can we go inside the house?" I looked up at it. "Sure." He sat up and climbed down the tree, I followed. We ran across the feild, Cody opened the door to the house and walked in.

I didn't, I looked around the room. "Come on." Cody erdged, I hesitated and then took a step forward. "I promise you it's safe." He took my hand, I walked over to his side. We looked around the living room together. It was dark, none of the lights worked.

There was a big bang and a gush of wind. "Oh my gosh!" I grabbed hold of Cody, he laughed as he wrapped his arms around me. "It's just the door." He put his chin on my head. "Are you sure? We haven't just been killed?" Cody laughed again. "I've got you." He kissed my head.

I let go of him, a beautiful black piano caught my eye. It was in the corner of the room, I walked over to it and ran my finger over the rim. I sat down on the stool and lifted the thing that covered the keys. "Do you play?" Cody asked. He was leaning against the wall with his foot on it, watching me.

"I might." I smiled at him and placed my hands on the keys. I started to play and then looked back to Cody. He looked shocked, he walked over to me slowly. I kept playing as he moved my hair from my shoulder and pressed his lips onto my neck.

I leaned my head back onto him as he did it, I removed my hands from the keys. "Stand up." He whispered in my ear and then kissed it. I did as I was told. Cody pushed me back onto the keys as he connected our lips. I wrapped my arms around his neck.

After a few minutes Cody picked me up, I wrapped my legs around his waist. He walked to the wall and pushed me against it. We made out for about ten minutes until Cody's phone began to ring, he ignored it. It ran for a second time, I pulled away. "Codes, you need to answer that."

He sighed and put me on the floor, he got his phone out his pocked and put it to his ear. "Hello?" He looked at me. "I'll be back in a minute." He said and walked towards the door, I sat back down at the piano and began to play again.

Cody came back after a few minutes. "Baby, I gotta take you home." He said, I nodded and got up. "Are you not coming in?" "No, I have some stuff to do." "Alright." We walked back to his car. I got in and buckled up.

"What work are you doing?" I asked. "I have a photoshoot." "Have fun." "Do you want to come?" "Nah, you go." I smiled. "Are you sure?" "Yeah, it's your job. Not mine." Cody pulled up on the drive, I got out and walked to the door. Cody was behind me.

"I don't want to leave you." "You'll be fine until tomorrow." "I'm sure my baby won't be." He pushed me back against the wall and put a hand either side of me on the wall. "You're not coming in tonight, you're going to work." "On one condition." He smirked.

"What's that?" I played along. "Kiss me." He kissed me before I could answer, I kissed him back. His phone started to ring again, I pushed him away. "Okay, now you gotta go." I laughed, Cody laughed and looked down.

He looked up again, his face was serious. "I have another condition." "What is it?" I held his face in my hands. "Don't meet any of those guys." He looked so desperate, my heart melted. "I..Um-" "Please? I want to know that you're safe and no one's going to me making moves on you while I'm gone." His eyes searched mine, I sighed.

"I won't, I'll stay home." I kissed him softly. Cody wrapped his arms around me gently and held me against him, I grabbed his shirt as we kissed. Once again Cody's phone started to ring, we both pulled away.

"I really gotta go now." He pecked my lips many times before turning around and walking to his car. "Cody, wait!" I ran over to the car and got out my bag. "Okay, go." I pecked his lips again, he pulled me back and pecked mine a few more. I smiled to myself as I walked back to the door.

I watched his car as he pulled out of the drive and walked into the house, I went into the kitchen. My mom, dad and Trey were all smiling at me. I gave them weird looks as I sat on the counter. "What?" I asked. "We have windows." Dad said.

"And..?" I edged the answer out of them. "You just can't keep your hands off each other can you?" Mom beamed at me, I laughed. "Why were you watching us?" I covered my face as I started to blush. "Embarrased are we?" Trey teased.

"I'm going to play with my sister." I got up and walked out. Mom shouted something after me but I didn't pay attention, I walking into Lilly's room. "Hey baby." I smiled at her. "Lauren! Can you play dolls with me?" She picked up a doll and gave her to me.

"Sure but only until tea time and then I'll give you a bath and put you to bed." "Okay!" She smiled, I smiled at her and sat down next to her. She had a massive doll house with loads of other things, it used to be mine. It's so cool.

Once I had put Lilly to bed I went to my room, I got ready for bed and then got into bed. I was watching tv when my phone began to ring, I looked at the caller ID and smiled to myself. "How was work?" I pressed loud speaker and set it on the pillow.

"It was good once I got there, I was a little late." Cody laughed. "I wonder what made you so late." I played along. I turned the tv off and snuggled into the blankets. "I blame this girl I'm seeing." "You do?" "Yeah, she just wouldn't stop kissing me." He joked, I smiled.

"I think you might of had something to do with that." "Let's not tell that to boss man." "Oh so I get the blame?" "Yeah, I'll punish you tomorrow." He said in a flirty voice. "Are you sure about that?" "Of course, you're a bad girl."

"But I'm your good girl." I flirted. "That's right, you're my good girl." I heard someone clear their throat, I looked over. "Oh my gosh, Trey! Ever heard of kocking?!" I half shouted. "And miss this conversation? Who would do that." He teased me.

"Get out of my room!" I pointed to the door. "Stop talking like that to him." He said and walked out. "I hate him." I sighed. "Nah you don't, you're just annoyed." "No, I hate him." I comfirmed, Cody laughed. "Alright you hate him." I laughed at him.

"You better get to sleep, last day of school tomorrow." Cody told me, I groaned. "I'm not tired." "But you need sleep, think of it this way.. The quicker you got to sleep, the quicker you get to see me." "I'll never sleep." I joked, Cody laughed.

"Sweet dreams, princess. I love you." Cody said cutely, I smiled. "I love you too." I hung up the phone and put it on charge. I wrapped myself up in the blankets and sighed happily. My eye lids started to get heavy.
