Chapter 26
20:33, 12 February 2014I woke to the sunlight peeping through the drapes. I fidgeted slightly and then relaxed again. I heard Cody groan, I looked at him. "Go to sleep, it's too early to be awake." He pushed my head back down onto his chest. I giggled at him.
I waited for him to go back to sleep and then I got out of bed and went into the bathroom. I showered quickly and then got out, I went to get Alli's hairdryer and then came back and dried my hair in the bathroom. I walked out to find Cody giving me an annoyed look.
"Oh, did I wake you?" I asked. "I guess you could say that." He said annoyed, I tried to hide my smile. "Is someone sleepy?" I pouted, Cody pouted too and nodded. I grabbed my clothes and went to walk back into the bathroom but Cody stopped me.
"Change out here, no one's going to come in." "Yes but you can see me." I said as if he was stupid. "So? Like I said last night, it's nothing I haven't seen before." He held the corner of my towel. "It's different." "How?"
"It just is, I'm not in the moment." I said and tried to walk away but he kep hold of my towel. I turned to look at him, he was smirking at me. "Cody.." "Nope. I'm not letting go." "Cody Simpson!" I raised my voice. "Fine, be boring." He let go of the towel.
I walked into the bathroom and got changed, I walked back out and Cody wasn't in the room. I shrugged and walked downstairs. "Pancakes!" I said happily and grabbed a plate. Brad placed one on my plate for me.
Once we had finished breakfast Cody got ready. "I bet I could beat you Tommo." I said to Tom as I sat with him in the living room. "No, I'm best at this game. Not even Cody can beat me." "Pass us a thingy." I reached for the controller.
Tom passed one to me, we started playing the game together. "I'm beating you!" I shouted as I jumped up. Tommy jumped up too. "Not anymore!" "One lap left!" I pressed the button down as hard as I could.
"YES!" Tommy jumped up on the couch and started dancing, I laughed at him. "You're a dork." I giggled and sat down. Tom jumped on my back. "Take me to the kitchen." He told me, I gave him a piggyback to the kitchen and set him down on the counter.
"Baby, you ready?" I heard Cody, I turned and looked at him. "Yeah, I just need to get my things." "I got them." He held up my bag. "Okay. Bye guys." I smiled and followed Cody outside. "I have some business to do so I'll be dropping you home." He said as he started the engine.
"Oh, okay." I looked out the window. Cody didn't put his hand on my leg, I moved it onto my leg but he moved it back, I sighed. "Will I see you later?" I asked. "I don't know, depends how much work I need to do." "What are you doing?" "It's not important." He dismissed.
I hate it when he's distant like this but I don't want to be pushy and annoying so I left it. We pulled up on the drive. "Bye." I kissed his cheek and got out the car, I grabbed my bag and walked to the front door.
I turned around to see if he was following me like normal but he wasn't, I sighed and walked inside. "I thought you were going to be back late?" I was greeted by Trey. "Go away." I pushed past him and walked to my room.
I decided to call Alli and see if she knew what work he was doing. "Hey." Alli answered. "Sup Als." "You alright?" "Not really, Cody's being strange." "How?" "He's being really distant." "Oh." "He said he was doing work today, do you know what he's doing? He didn't want to tell me and I don't want to seem too controlling but I'm worried."
Alli was quiet for a few seconds. "Actually, he hasn't said anything about work." She told me. "He hasn't?" I asked, I started to worry more. "No, that's strange. I'll go and ask mom, he might of told her." I heard her talking to Angie.
"Mom said he hasn't." Alli said. My heart sunk, why was he lying? "Why would he lie? We had an amazing night last night. He made a really big effort and now he's being like this." I said as I walked down the stairs.
"I know, he really did try last night. I'm worried, I'll try find out for you." "Okay, thank you." I smiled. "I'll talk to you later." "Yeah, thanks again Alli." "Anything for my best friend." I heard the smile in her voice, I smiled too and then hung up.
"What's up, Lon?" I looked up to see my dad. "Nothing." I faked a smiled. "Can me and your mother talk to you in the kitchen?" "Yes." I followed him into the kitchen and sat on the counter. "I know there's only a week left of school before the holidays but we think you should go back for the last week." He told me.
"But you said it wasn't worth it, I miss three months and then all of a sudden I have to go to school for a week. Where's the logic in that?" I asked annoyed. "We think it's best for you, you need to broaden out the people you spend time with." My mom tried to reason with me.
"You mean you don't want me spending so much time with Cody?" I folded my arms. "No! Cody's a lovely boy and I love him a lot but I just think as it's your last year of high school you should go for your last week." She smiled.
"Why?! This isn't fair!" I shouted. "You got to go to Europe for three months, do this for us!" "I'm not going to school!" I refused. "Yes you are, you don't have a choice young lady." My dad became strict. I rolled my eyes. "It's a no from me." I jumped off the counter and walked out.
My dad caught my wrist and pulled me back. "You have no choice. You start tomorrow as tomorrow is monday and that means you're sleeping at home without Cody." "Since whe-" "No!" He shouted. I pushed him back and stormed up the stairs.
I slammed my door shut and sat on window seat, I put on my headphones and turned my music up to block out the world. I couldn't stop thinking about what Cody was doing and now I have to go to school tomorrow. I'll have no free time! Ugh!
It was around five when I got a call from Alli, I smiled and picked it up. "Just the person I need." I confessed. "Aw! What's up?" "I have to go to school for the last week." I moaned. "What?! That's not fair!" "Tell me about it, I'm so annoyed. Anyway, any news?"
"He's just got back and he's deffinatly not been to work." "How can you tell?" "He smells like a girl." She said hesitantly. My stomach dropped. "I'm sorry Lauren, I could be wrong but it's just what he smells like."
I felt tears build up in my eyes. "Do you think he's cheating?" I managed to breathe. "I don't know." "It all makes sense, that's why he was so sweet so he'd seem like a good boyfriend and then he'd go and cheat on me and I wouldn't mind becau-" "No, don't say that!" Alli stopped me.
"But it's true." I sobbed. "He loves you so much, Lauren." She reminded me. "Just not enough." I wiped my tears. "Don't say that, I'll get to the bottom of this. I promise." She said softly, I layed down on my bed.
"I love you, Alli." "I love you too, Lauren." She comforted. "I'm going to have a bath, I need to get away from my thoughts." "Please look after yourself, don't go down the road you went down with Josh." Alli asked.
Josh was a guy a dated when I was 13, I was totally in love with him. He cheated on me many times and each time I forgave him because I was too stupidly in love. He was two years older than me and took my innocence for granted. Anyways when we broke up I started to self harm, Alli managed to make me stop after a few months but I was so low.
I guess Alli's just scared of me repeating it, I'm scared too. "I won't." "Promise me." "I promise." "Okay, go have a nice bath." "I will, bye." "Bye." I hung up and walked into the bathroom. I ran myself a hot bubble bath and put my music on in there.
After an hour of soaking and relaxing I got out and got into the shower. It's what I do when I have a bath, I finish it by washing my hair and body in the shower. I put on my pyjamas and walked downstairs.
"Just in time for dinner." Trey said as I walked into the kitchen and passed me a plate. "Where's mom and dad?" "They went over to see Angie and Brad." He told me, I nodded. "And Lilly?" "In the living room." He picked up his and Lilly's plate and set them on the breakfast bar.
"Lilly, it's dinner time!" He shouted, I placed my plate next to Lilly's and sat down. "Can you drive me to school tomorrow?" I asked. "Do you forgive me then?" "Cody's not in my good books right now." I faught tears back.
"What did he do?" "Don't worry." "I am worrying." "Trey, please." I sighed and put some food in my mouth. "I just want you to be okay." He smiled slightly. "I can see you're hurt, you seem completely drained." He added. "I feel completely drained." I confessed.
"Finish dinner and go to bed." He told me. "You gotta be up early tomorrow." "But I haven't spoken to Cody all day, I need to talk to him." "Let him worry about that, you need sleep." He leaned over Lilly and tucked my hair behind my ear. I smiled slightly.
Once we were finished dinner I took Lilly to bed while Trey cleared up. "What's wrong?" Lilly asked me as made her bed ready for her to get in. "I'm fine, can you get in bed please?" I asked her. "Can you read to me?" She asked.
I got out a book and sat on the edge of her bed with her. I read the story and once I was finished, I tucked her in. I kissed her forehead and then left the room. I went to my bed, I had no missed calls or messages on my phone so I plugged it in and got into bed.
