New Recruit

As soon as Peridot returned, she was quickly grabbed by a cold yellow hand.

"Peridot! Glad you're back. We have a recruit here we need you to train, she'll be living with you." Yellow Diamond dragged her along as Peridot frantically tried to explain that her mission had failed.

"Yellow Diamond, you aren't listening to-" She was cut off by the sight of her new recruit. She was a beautiful Gem with short hair and a sad face. Her skirt floated just above her ankles, and her crop top was tightly suspended across her stomach.

The New Gem mumbled out "... h-hi..." Her voice flowed like waves, and Peridot was drowning in it, her face turning three times darker. She coughed and tried to stay professional.

"Hello, recruit." She pulled up her screen. "Name?"

"Lapis... Lapis Lazuli."

"Lazuli, eh?" Disinterested professional banter that Peridot had picked up from Yellow Diamond's meetings. Her meetings usually ended in a kidnapping of some sort.

Description... hm, let's see here... timid, fairly intelligent, communication deficiency...

She resisted the urge to add "hot af". That was a term she picked up from White, Blue, and Yellow Diamond's less professional pursuits.

They're so cool.

"Okay, this way to your new quarters." She lead Lapis away.
