False Danger

"Hey Peridot?"

"How do you know my name?"

"... never mind..."

She brought Lapis to her living quarters. Engraved on the outside was 'Peridot'. 'and Lapis' had been hastily and sloppily added below it. She extended one of her digital digits to unlock the door and escorted Lapis in.

"What happened to the rivers? The grassy plains, and the hills, and the forests... and to the flowers?"

"All Earth rubbish. Here on Homeworld, we're fully digitized. Works much better."

"... okay."

"We set up a water bed for you in the next room, and-"

Lapis' expression suddenly changed.

"A water bed?! Awesome!" She ran into the other room, bouncing up into the squishy bed, controlling the water to make it wave around under her, spinning her around and lifting her high into the air.

Peridot's stoic spirit faded and she hopped up onto the bed with Lapis. "Hey, I wanna try!"

"Not a problem!" She shifted the water to catch Peridot and toss her in the air briefly, before Peridot panicked and flew into Lapis' arms, causing both of them to fall back. The water steadied out.

"I'm glad you're back, at least..."

I'm convinced this girl is crazy, Peridot thought. I don't remember her at all. But maybe this won't be so bad.
