New Beginning

The more Peridot got zapped with the destabilizer, the more liquid drained from her arms. And each time, the missing parts would never regenerate. They were always replaced with robotic parts, and then, as her legs began to melt, she became robotic there as well. She didn't mind. After all, Yellow Diamond said it was perfectly natural. And who can disagree with Yellow Diamond?

As she walked through the hallways, she quickly came to know all of the Gems there. Even the Pearls. All of them looked eerily similar... and also vaguely familiar.

She stepped into her place at the control panel, watching Earth from below, carefully constructing her robonoids and preparing to launch. She kept her logs meticulously updated. She worked day in and day out, almost never leaving the dark room.

If this wasn't normal, if something was missing, she didn't know what.

She was supposed to infiltrate Earth and reclaim it as a Homeworld base. She had a few vague memories of the place. It was a worthless planet.

But it won't be after I'm done with it! she thought.

She tapped away on the screen with her dexterous robotic fingers, firing what she hoped would be the last necessary robonoid. She spun around and got onto the warp, preparing for her trip to Earth.

It'll feel good to be in charge.

She felt the warp activate and set off, trying to keep stoic. But inside, she was ecstatic.
