War = Death

The next morning, I quickly shoved some food down my throat. I choked half of it up again but I couldn't be bothered eating. I got dressed and walked out to the other soldiers. Lewood walked over to me and punched me playfully on the arm."Ready?" I nodded. The long march began.

Gondor was under attack by Sauron and his army of orcs. Elves and men aided each other in such times. The march took 3 days and every day people came galloping past, telling us to hurry.

On the third day, I could see the orcs and men fighting. Oropher turned around on his elk and shouted"From Middle Earth!" We shouted it back and then raced into the battle.Arrows whizzed past my head and one by one the elves started to fall. I swung around swiping an Orc head as I tried to get closer to Thranduil. My armour was weighting me down as it was drenched with sweat. The mud and blood of the battle field was pulling my iron boots into the ground. I couldn't fight in this all this iron. Piece by piece, I ripped it off, while slashing and stabbing. First my shoulder and arm protection, then my legs and chest and I unbuttoned my iron shoes and my bare feet hit the mud. I hated mud more than any thing and I could feel mud, blood and parts of orcs and men covering my feet. I could bile in my throat but I found that I could walk easier. I was in a tan dress with silver patterns on it that I always wore under my battle uniform. Finally I pull off my helmet, letting my hair flow down my back. I fought my way over to Thranduil. He looked at me quickly and said"That is an interesting uniform." I smiled and shot another Orc. Yes, I was using a bow. Another arrow killed two with one shot."Well the iron was weighing me down." Thranduil nodded and I asked"The king, where is he?" Thranduil pointed. I could see the king fighting off a warg. I turned away and found myself facing an Orc. "NO!!!" Screamed Thrnaduil. I turned around to see the king with a sword coming out of his back."Oh no." Then my bow broke. The bloody Orc, cut my bow in half. I swung out my daggers and  could see the lines were slowly disappearing as elves and men fell. Thranduil was kneeling by his father's body. "Thranduil , we need to retreat. We are all going to die!" I gently touched Thranduil's shoulder. He got up and I rubbed his back. Then he shouted"Retreat! Retreat!" Everyone starting running back towards the forest.

We stopped in the forest. The orcs would not come after us. I caught a glimpse of myself in a shield. My face was covered with blood and mud, from head to foot in the stuff. Thranduil dropped down on a log. He had lose both of his parents in two days. The world was a cruel place and unfair. I walked slowly over to Thranduil and said"King Thranduil, what is your command?" He looked at me, blank for a moment then he knew what I was talking about. He was now king."Go back to Greenwood." He ordered. I nodded and shouted to the elves."We return to Greenwood, the king's command. Move it, now!!" The elves got up and we started to long march back to Greenwood.
