Chapter 1 : Attention

Ochako's POV:

———Today was an exciting new day for Ochako: it was the day before first day of school. She was about to become a second year student at U.A. and she was excited to see her old friends. Of course she hung out with some of them over summer break but she was too busy working her summer job to see them very often. However, now that they're going to be back in school, she'll be able to see them every day!

'I should probably tell my parents that I'm ready to take my belongings to the dorm.' Ochako thought. Over the summer, she was able to buy a bunch of new clothes, accessories, and room decorations due to her job. She was excited to show all of her friends her new style. Before getting her parents, she got ready for the day. She chose to wear a cute Hello Kitty tank top with laced edges paired with light blue shorts and bright pink sneakers. She also decided to put a little lip gloss. 'Cute and simple!' she thought as she checked herself in the mirror.

Ochako then got her parents and brought her belongings to the U.A. dormitory. No one else was there yet, but her parents helped her settle in to her dorm. After saying 'goodbye' to her parents, she decided to sit in the living room to wait for her classmates to arrive.

After about 10 minutes of playing some games on her new phone, someone walked in the front door. She turned around excitingly but her excitement quickly turned to anxiety when she realized who walked in. It was Bakugou.

The two rarely spoke during their first year at U.A. but none of their few interactions were very pleasant.

As the clearly agitated boy walked past the couch that Ochako was sitting on, she decided to try to be friendly and greet him.

"Hey Bakugou! Nice to see you!" she said excitedly, trying not to show how nervous she was.

Bakugou looked over at her and squinted his eyes before continuing to bring his bags to his dorm. 'Well that was awkward...' she thought as her false smile faded into a look of defeat. Not too long after this encounter, Mina and Kaminari walked in simultaneously.

"OCHAKOOOO!!!!!" Mina exclaimed as she dropped her things and ran towards Ochako just to squeeze  the soul out of her. "I'm sooooo happy that you're here!!! Did you unpack already????" Mina asked.

Before she could answer, Kaminari walked up to the girls and leaned over the couch where the two girls were embracing each other. "Long time, no see. You're still looking as cute as ever, Uraraka." he said with a soft smile on his face.

"Thank you, Kaminari..." she said nervously. She was used to his random compliments but she hadn't heard them since last school year; she's going to have to get used to it again.

The three friends conversed for a while before they decided to take their things to their rooms. As Ochako helped them with their stuff, more and more of their classmates started to arrive.

Eventually, after everyone was settled in, they all lounged in the living room to catch up with each other. But one thing was really on everyone's mind: Ochako looks amazing.

"I can't lie, I mess with Ochako's outfit! Not to mention how cute her room is!" Mina said.

Sero nodded is head and looked over at Ochako. "I agree. It really suits you."

Momo, who was sitting next to Ochako, took Ochako's hand into her own and smiled. "I honestly didn't think you could get any prettier but you proven me wrong."

Everyone nodded and mumbled in agreement. Ochako couldn't help but blush at all of the attention she's getting. She was always treated special by the class given that she's the youngest and the cutest but the class was never this straight foreword about it. "Thank you guys...but you all look great too!" she said as she giggled nervously. But before anyone else got the chance to reply to her, Bakugou walked into the room.

"The lion has finally emerged from its den, I see." Kirishima said jokingly.

"Shut the hell up." Bakugou demanded rather calmly before heading to the kitchen.

Kirishima then ran up to Bakugou and put his arm around him. "Come join us. We haven't seen each other in forever, man. We were just talking about Ocha-" Kirishima started before Bakugou pushed him away.

"Don't fucking touch me. I don't care what you extras are talking about!" he yelled before walking alway successfully this time.

Deku saw the disappointed expression that Kirishima made and felt the need to chime in. "Don't worry about him. He'll come around eventually...in his own way, I guess...".

"I guess so." Kirishima said as he laughed it off.

As the others continued to make conversation, Ochako couldn't help but think about Bakugou. He was never a people person and she was just fine with staying away from him. However, she has started to be curious of him. She began to consider trying to be friends with him...or at least be on small talk basis with him.

'Wait....why do I want to get to know him all of a sudden?' she asked herself. 'It'd be disastrous if I tried....but I really would like to know more about him...'.

Ochako was now lost in her train of thought. All of this thinking, however, was making her hungry. She excused herself from the living room and went into the kitchen to find some of the snacks that Hagakure brought.

Unsurprisingly, Bakugou was leaning against a counter, using his phone. He looked up and his eyes met Ochako's in the exact moment that Ochako looked up at him. Embarrassed, Ochako quickly turned to the fridge and walked passed him to get to it. Bakugou's glaring eyes were still stuck on her and she felt it. Feeling awkward, every movement she made was very stiff and slow. 'Why does he have to be so intimidating?!' she thought to herself as she looked through the fridge.———
