Chapter 1: Familiar Faces

Reggie's POV

I walked along the shore line carrying my shoes. I could feel the sand between my toes and the cool water splash at my ankles. I know it sounds weird, but it felt different now, it felt real.

Last night at the Orhpum was amazing. And when Julie lifted the curse, I don't think I've ever been happier. We didn't get destroyed by Caleb's curse, we didn't have to work for him and we got to stay with Julie and make music together. I didn't want to think about what would happen if we crossed over...if we weren't together.

Shivers got sent down my spine thinking about being apart from them. They were my family, even Carlos and Ray. They didn't know it, but they were my faimly.

"Exuse me, do you think you could help me, I'm new in town and I'm a bit lost." A woman comes up to me and asks me. I am bewildered as she stared at me awaiting an answer.

I looked around. I was the only one around, the beach was empty practically empty today.

"You...you can see me?" I ask. I mentally slapped myself in the forehead for that. I probably sounded like a crazy person.

"Um..... yeah." The woman says. "Look, I just need help with directions, do you know where Eats and Beats café is?"

"Uh.....I got to go." I say quickly and without thinking I poof back to the Molina house. Crap, what did I just do? Now that lady is going to think she's insane!

I walk through the studio doors where I knew Luke would be. 

"Luke... you wouldn't believe it. I was at the beach and a LIFER saw me! She asked me for directions and I freaked out and poofed away." I look up and I see Luke staring at Trevor. What was he doing here!?

"Reggie?" He says. "You guys ...you haven't aged a day."

"Yeah, we'll we're kinda dead." Luke says, a hint of anger in his voice.

"How can you see us?" I ask.

"I- I don't know." Trevor says. "I came to help Ray with something, but he went inside for something."

"Why'd you steal our songs?" Luke asks.

"I was struggling, I'm not a song writer." Trevor says. "Your songs were just there, and I figured you weren't gonna use them, so I took advantage of the hand I was delt."

"You could have at least give him credit." I say. "You know how much it ment to him for his parents to know is dream was worth chasing."

"I know, but I'm famous now. Let's just leave the past in the past." Trevor says.

"No, you stole his songs, you never cared about us did you!?" I say. I didn't really get very angery, I didn't like it, but I just couldn't believe Trevor was here trying to act like he wasn't a song thief.

"Reg, calm down." Luke looks at me. "Don't waste your breath on him."

"Alright Trevor, I got the- who are you?" Ray asks walking into the studio holding a tool box. "Wait... you're the boys from Julie's band, right? What are you doing here, Julie's at school? Don't you live in Sweden?"

"Uhh...." Luke says. "Reggie, care to answer?"

"What!? Why me?" I ask. "You think I know?" I didn't know why Luke had so much faith in me to come up with something. He knew better than anyone that I was a horrible liar.

Ray looked at us confused, he was getting suspicious.

"They're just visiting." Trevor cuts in. "They're amazing boys, extremely nice, Julie's lucky to have such loyal bandmates."

Too bad we weren't so so lucky to have a loyal bandmate. Trevor basically just stabbed us in the back.

"Oh, well it's nice to meet you I guess." Ray says. "So how long are you staying?"

"Uhh..." Me and Luke look at each other for an answer. What were we supposed to say? I mean, we kinda lived in the studio.  

"Not long." Luke says at the same time I say,

"Forever?"

"Haha, funny. He's so funny, isn't he?" Luke says, playing off my stupid answer like I was joking. Why did I say forever? At least Luke could cover for it.

I laugh it off too. "Yeah haha, we aren't staying forever....that would be crazy."

"Alright, well me and Trevor have to do some work in here, there's a few boards that need replaced." Ray says. "You would mind hanging out somewhere else?"

"Of course not." Luke says. "Come on let's go to the beach Reg."

"Yeah okay." I nod, luckily I didn't poof away by habit, and followed Luke out the door.

Once we where outside, I started rambling. "Im sorry, I didn't really know what to say in there, I panicked, sorry."

"Don't worry about it, I don't think he knows." Luke says. "The real problem is how lifers can see us."

"Maybe whatever happened last night with Julie made us visable." I suggest.

"Maybe, but we have to be more careful. People would freak if they found out we were ghosts. And if Caleb find out we're still alive...or existing, he'll destroy us for sure."

"Yeah, you're right." I say. "But what about Trevor, he recognizes us."

"We just gotta make sure he won't tell." Luke says.

Alex's POV

I roamed the streets of Hollywood, looking for a boy on a skate board. I wanted to see Willie so badly, I had to make sure he was alright. What if Caleb found out he helped us and destroyed his soul?

I hear a poof behind me and I know it had to me Willie. I turn around and see I was right, a smile turns across my face, but that smile instantly fades when I see the worried look on his face.

"Alex, h-how are you still here?" He asks. "You didn't take Caleb's offer, did you?"

"Of course not." I say. "Playing the Orhpum wasn't our unfinished business, and the jolts were on the verge of destroying us." I tell him. "But then... Julie was able to hug us. We started to glow, and the stamps lifted off our wrists and disappeared."

"So not only can a lifer see you, she can touch you guys too?" Willie says, but not with confusion or excitement. He sounded like he just made a horrifying realization. "I know what kind of ghosts you guys are."

"Exuse me sir, but could you please help me?" A lady says looking directly at me. There was no way she could see me right? I look to Willie who looked extremely nervous. "I'm new in town, I'm visiting a friend and I need to find Eat and Beats café. Where is it?"

"Willie....what do I do?" I ask.

"Who are you talking to?" The lady asks.

"Whatever you do don't poof away, we don't want her freaking out."

"Yeah okay." I say. I look back over at the lady with a smile, trying to look friendly. "Sorry can't help you." I say.

"Oh, okay well thanks anyways. I've been having the weirdest day actually, earlier I asked this other boy to help me, and he seemed completely shocked I could see him, and then he just vanished in thin air. I think I'm going crazy."

I look wide eyes at Willie, and when I look back at the lady, I see Caleb off in the distance. I couldn't let him see me.

"The damage has been done, go poof out before he sees you." Willie says.

"Sorry about this." I say to the lady and I poof outside the studio where Luke and Reggie were talking.

"Guys I got news." I say.

"Can it wait?" Luke says. "Because we've got a bigger problem. It was then that I noticed Bobby, or I guess it's Trevor now, standing next to them.

"Alex..." He says going pale like he's seen a ghost, probably because he quite litteraly had. 

"So you already know lifers can see us." I state.

"Yep." Reggie says. 

"What does this mean?" Luke asks.
